CIA Confirms in Video: Israel Bombed Nuclear Reactor in Syria

Once again Israel does the job America won't do. The entire civilized world can once again thank Israel for preventing another Muslim dictatorship theocracy from using nuclear weapons against infidels.

Later today U.S. intelligence officials will show members of Congress a videotape and other evidence supporting their case that Syria was building a nuclear reactor with North Korean assistance before it was bombed by Israeli planes in September 2007, a U.S. official said Wednesday.

Intelligence officials who have seen the evidence consider it "extremely compelling," the anonymous U.S. official said. He said it was gleaned from a variety of sources, not just Israeli intelligence.

U.S. officials said Israel shared intelligence with the United States before the bombing after administration officials expressed doubts that the site was a nuclear reactor built with North Korea's assistance.

The Syrian reactor was similar in design to a North Korean reactor that has in the past produced small amounts of plutonium, the official said. It was not yet complete but was far enough along to demonstrate a resemblance to the North Korean reactor at Yonbyon.

Shortly after the Israel attack, Syria bulldozed the area and constructed a new building there, which it has not allowed foreign visitors to enter.

Syria did not declare the apparent reactor to the International Atomic Energy Agency nor was it under international safeguards, possibly putting Syria in breech of an international nuclear nonproliferation treaty.

The irony in this is that there is a Congressional subcommittee session to deal with Syrian-North Korean relations, amidst reports that a possible deal is in the works to remove North Korea from the American list of of state sponsors of terrorism. The video being released later today should blow that idea out of the water, that is, if there are any Americans left in Congress that have any guts.

Middle East Volcano

From Middle East Volcano:

On Sept. 6, something important happened in northern Syria. We do know that Israel carried out an airstrike. How do we know it was important? Because in Israel, where leaking is an art form, even the best-informed don't have a clue. They tell me they have never seen a better-kept secret. Only two countries registered strong protests to the Israeli strike: Turkey and North Korea. What business is this of North Korea's? Unless it was a North Korean facility being hit.

The al-Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards is training and equipping Shiite extremist militias in the use of the deadliest IEDs and rocketry against American and Iraqi troops. Iran is similarly helping the Taliban to attack NATO forces in Afghanistan. Why is Iran doing this? Because it has its eye on a single prize: the bomb. It needs a bit more time, knowing that once it goes nuclear, it becomes the regional superpower and Persian Gulf hegemon.

Iran's assets in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq are poised and ready. Ahmadinejad's message is this: If anyone dares attack our nuclear facilities, we will fully activate our proxies, unleashing unrestrained destruction on Israel, moderate Arabs, Iraq and U.S. interests - in addition mining the Strait of Hormuz and causing an acute oil crisis and worldwide recession. This is an extremely high-stakes game. The time window is narrow. In probably less than two years, Ahmadinejad will have the bomb. Which makes it all the more urgent that powerful sanctions be slapped on the Iranian regime.

Source: Syria Working on Clandestine Nuclear Program Since 1986

From Source: Syria Working on Clandestine Nuclear Program Since 1986:
A former Syrian military officer who has had access to sensitive military information in Damascus confirmed Tuesday that Syria has been working on a clandestine nuclear program at least since 1986. He said many North Korean nationals are in Syria in relation to that program. He claimed that Pakistani nuclear scientist A.Q. Khan has visited Syria several times since 1989, after being introduced to the Damascus Baathist regime by Libya. He also said Syria possesses the "latest Russian technology in air defense," but that it was reluctant to expose it during the latest attack because, two decades ago, such exposure allowed Israel to destroy all Syrian anti-aircraft missiles in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley.

Breaking News -- Iran Set to Try Space Launch

Iran has converted its most powerful ballistic missile into a satellite launch vehicle. The 30-ton rocket could also be a wolf in sheep's clothing for testing longer-range missile strike technologies, Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine reports in its Jan. 29 issue.

The Iranian space launcher has recently been assembled and "will liftoff soon" with an Iranian satellite, according to Alaoddin Boroujerdi, the chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.

The move toward an independent space launch capacity is likely to ratchet up concern in the U.S. and Europe about Iran's strategic capabilities and intents. Orbiting its own satellite would send a powerful message throughout the Muslim world about the Shiite regime in Tehran.

U.S. agencies believe the launcher to be a derivation of the 800-1,000-mi. range Shahab 3 missile. A Shahab 3 fired from central Iran could strike anywhere in Israel, Saudi Arabia, the entire Persian Gulf region and as far west as southern Turkey.

There are concerns in the West that space launch upgrades, however, could eventually create an Iranian intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) with a range of nearly 2,500 mi., giving Tehran the ability to strike as far as central Europe, well into Russia and even China and India.

The U. S. Defense Intelligence Agency has told the Congress that Iran may be capable of developing a 3,000-mi. range ICBM by 2015.

"But ultimately, their space program aims to orbit reconnaissance satellites like Israel's "Ofek," using an Iranian satellite launcher from Iranian territory, says Uzi Rubin, the former head of the Israel Missile Defense Organization. Rubin made his assessment in a report for The Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs.

"A reconnaissance satellite of reasonable performance should weigh about 300 kg. [660 lb.] Once Iran learns how to put 300 kg. into earth orbit, it could adapt the satellite launcher into an ICBM that could drop more than 300 kg anywhere in the world.

Boroujerdi's made his remarks about the imminent Iranian launch in a speech before a group of religious students and clerics in the city of Qom near where Iran has conducted some of its ballistic missile tests. Iran is now in the midst of military exercises that include a series of shorter-range missile tests, Iranian officials say.

Although designed as a technology demonstrator, the planned satellite launch would be a potent political and emotional weapon in the Middle East.

The new space launcher and ongoing missile development is also significant in that it highlights close technological ties between the Iranian and North Korean missiles programs, intelligence agencies agree.

Analysts at the strategic think tank GlobalSecurity.org believe that the new Iranian modification could be a stepping stone to an Iranian clone of the North Korean Taep'O-Dong 2C/3 ballistic missile that failed in a launch attempt from North Korea last July 4.

A November 2006 Congressional Research Service report reinforced concerns over Iranian and North Korean missile development ties. It notes that Israel's military intelligence chief has information indicating that North Korea has shipped to Iran eighteen 1,500 mi. range BM-25 ballistic missiles capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.

"Largely with foreign help, Iran is becoming self-sufficient in the production of ballistic missiles," says the report's author, Kenneth Katzman. And he reminds that a 2006 U.S. National Security Strategy Document notes, "The United States may face no greater challenge from a single country than Iran."

Asking the Scapegoat to Take One for the Team

From Asking the Scapegoat to Take One for the Team:

Born of the ashes of Hitler's World War II, the UN has now returned to scapegoating the Jewish state. On Friday at the UN General Assembly, Israeli ambassador to the UN Dan Gillerman was talking about his country's attempts to deal with the ongoing rocket attacks from Gaza, which resulted in a horrific error that killed 19 innocent Palestinian Arabs in Beit Hanoun. "If France was shelled from across the border, what would the French do?" Gillerman asked. "Would the French government send flowers to their attackers?"

As Gillerman was speaking, a UN cameraman with a keen sense of irony aimed the house camera at the Palestinian Arab seat, where French Ambassador Jean-Marc de la Sabliere was seen talking intently to the Palestinian UN observer, Riad Mansour. De la Sabliere's back was turned to the dais where Gillerman was speaking.

The General Assembly emergency session, a holdover from the Cold War era, was revived in 1997 by Palestinian envoy to the UN Nasser al-Kidwa, and has been used ever since to bash Israel and bypass American vetoes of one-sided Security Council resolutions. No similar instrument exists to bypass the inevitable Chinese or Russian vetoes on council resolutions dealing with Burma, North Korea, Chechnya, or Sudan.

North Korea threatens New York, Washington

A high-ranking North Korean official who is called the unofficial spokesman for the mentally ill dwarf with the hairpiece, Kim Jong-il, issued a not-so-veiled threat to the United States in an interview with South Korean radio on Thursday, October 12.

"Everything will be settled in a week," said Kim Myong-chol on KBS Radio. "That is, whether we, Korean people, will remain as we are now, or lose, or New York will lose, or Washington, D.C., will lose, it will all be settled once and for all."

North Korea

North Korea completed a successful test of a nuclear weapon late Sunday night, a senior Bush administration official confirmed to FOX News. The official said, however, that initial readings from South Korea reported only a 3.58-magnitude seismic reaction, which is smaller than what would be expected from the 4-kiloton explosion the communist nation sought. It is disturbing news alright and the MSM just wants to talk about Foley.

Meanwhile the deranged leader of North Korea - Kim Jong Il - starves his own people who literally drop dead in the street, their bodies are never picked up for proper burial, the traffic lights don't work because he disallows electricity in his cities, and Kofi Annan is silent, "world opinion" has little or nothing to say, but instead condemns those who fight evil.

There is a human rights problem in North Korea;- over 200,000 people are imprisoned in North Korea’s vast gulag; punishment against entire families (multigenerational) is used to respond to real or suspected political dissent; imprisoned women are often forced to abort fetuses and prisoners are routinely executed in public, often in the presence of children;- access to services such as health care, education and even food assistance are allocated according to social stratification, a system which is based on the family’s loyalty to the regime; pluralism and civil society are nonexistent; freedoms of religion and press do not exist. It is an act of treason to leave the country without state permission. If caught, a person can face detention, torture or even execution.

What's even worse is that Kim Jong Il doesn't even have a religious ideology - it's just pure ego with him. To him there is nothing bigger than himself. And that's very scary.

Shema Yisrael: ‘World Opinion’ is Worthless

From Dennis Prager:
"World opinion" has little or nothing to say about the world's greatest evils and regularly condemns those who fight evil.

The history of "world opinion" regarding the greatest mass murders and cruelties on the planet is one of relentless apathy.
Ask the 1.5 million Armenians massacred by the Ottoman Turks;

* or the 6 million Ukrainians slaughtered by Stalin;

* or the tens of millions of other Soviet citizens killed by Stalin's Soviet Union;

* or the 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazis and their helpers throughout Europe;

* or the 60 million Chinese butchered by Mao;

* or the 2 million Cambodians murdered by Pol Pot;

* or the millions killed and enslaved in Sudan;

* or the Tutsis murdered in Rwanda's genocide;

* or the millions starved to death and enslaved in North Korea;

* or the million Tibetans killed by the Chinese;

* or the million-plus Afghans put to death by Brezhnev's Soviet Union.

Ask any of these poor souls, or the hundreds of millions of others slaughtered, tortured, raped and enslaved in the last 100 years, if "world opinion" did anything for them.

Seven foreign companies doing business with Iran

The US government has just imposed sanctions against seven foreign companies, including two from India and two from Russia, for business dealings with Iran involving sensitive technology.

The two Indian companies were Balaji Amines Ltd. and Prachi Poly Products Ltd., both chemical manufacturers.

The Russian companies were Rosoboronexport and Sukhoi.

Also sanctioned were Korean Mining and Industrial Development Corp. and Korea Pugang Trading Corp., both North Korean.

The Cuban company was the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.

Four minutes to midnight

The nuclear holocaust clock is probably at 4 minutes to midnight, in my opinion. A US warship successfully shot down a target missile warhead over the Pacific in a test of a sea-based missile defense system. A Japanese destroyer performed surveillance and tracking exercises during the test, marking the first time any US ally has taken part in a US missile defense intercept test, the US Missile Defense Agency said.

Why was this test performed?

The test came amid a confrontation with North Korea over its preparations to launch a long-range missile - which is capable of hitting the United States. If the North Koreans launch the missile, and debris falls onto parts of Japan, Japan has stated it will consider that an act of war.

North Korea is preparing to launch a multi-stage Taepodong-2 ballistic missile with a range of up to 6,700 kilometers (4,200 miles). US reports have said a launch was imminent.

See, folks, launching occurs in three stages. One, you load the missile, two you position it, and three you fuel it. Once it is fueled, and a decision is made to reverse a launch, the launcher must be defueled and that must be done within 24 hours. If the decision is to launch, this must also be done within 24 hours. Well, the launcher has been fueled for more than five days.

I'm sure some of you are stating that it's America that's being aggressive and that is why North Korea wants to test its missiles. Well, you're wrong. Here is North Korea's official statement about their right to launch a missile; see, they just want to celebrate 42 years of totalitarianism. You can find this classic textbook Communist propaganda on the News From KOREAN CENTRAL NEWS AGENCY of DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) website. An excerpt:
A national meeting took place at the April 25 House of Culture here Sunday to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the WPK on June 19, Juche 53 (1964) according to the noble intention of President Kim Il Sung and the unanimous desire of the Korean army and people was a noteworthy event which brought a rosy future to the party and revolution, the country and the nation...

What is distinguished in the history of his leadership over the Party is that he has developed the WPK into a mighty guiding force of the Songun revolution to provide a firm guarantee for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The WPK pioneered the unique way of perfectly and closely combining the party and the army, politics and military affairs in carrying out the cause of revolution and pushing forward the revolution and construction with the revolutionary army as the main force and the main stay. It is an event of world historical significance, the first of its kind in the history of building socialist ruling parties.

Kim Jong Il formulated the Songun politics as the basic political mode of socialism and has concentrated all efforts on strengthening the military power to turn the People's Army into an invincible army and smash every isolating and stifling offensive of the U.S. imperialists with its might and firmly defend socialism of Juche, life and soul of the Korean people.

It is an event of special mention in the history of the Korean revolution that under his Songun revolutionary leadership the military position of the DPRK with the People's Army as its core has been consolidated as firm as an iron wall and a firm military guarantee provided for accomplishing the cause of revolutionary cause of Juche, the cause of the Party...

Kim Jong Il represents the future of the Party and revolution, the country and the nation and a symbol of all our victories and glory...

We should unite closer around the headquarters of revolution headed by Kim Jong Il and firmly consolidate the single-minded unity of the whole party and army and all the people based on revolutionary comradeship centering on the leader...

The Korean army and people will do their best to increase the military deterrent with sharp vigilance to cope with the moves of the U.S., which is hell-bent on provocations for war of aggression on the DPRK, resorting to its anti-DPRK policy, and its followers Japan and other bellicose forces. If the enemies ignite a war eventually, the Korean army and people will mercilessly wipe out the aggressors and give vent to the deep-rooted grudge of the nation.
Sort of reads like the Hamas Covenant - another document which uses grandiose terms like "bellicose" and "army" and "the right to". The common thread between North Korea and Hamas? They're both godless cultures with primitive killer instincts.

Bin Laden family gave $1 million to President Jimmy (I hate Jews) Carter

Former President Jimmy Carter's center in Atlanta received more than $1 million from the family of Osama bin Laden, according to an investigative report.

A brother of the al-Qaida terrorist leader, Bakr M. bin Laden, funneled the money to the Carter Center in Atlanta through the Saudi Bin Laden Group, according to Melanie Morgan, chairman of a group opposing the Georgia Democrat called the Censure Carter Committee. Morgan, a WorldNetDaily columnist, based her claim on papers she acquired from the Carter Center.

She points to a report showing Carter met with 10 of Osama bin Laden's brothers early in 2000. The former president and his wife, Rosalyn, followed up the meeting with a breakfast with Bakr bin Laden in September 2000 and secured the first $200,000 towards the more than $1 million that has gone to the Carter Center.

Morgan says the connection between Carter and the bin Laden family is exactly the kind of charge leveled by Michael Moore against President Bush in the film "Fahrenheit 9/11."

Morgan's group commented in a statement: "If you think this news troubles Michael Moore and his friends in the liberal, anti-war crowd, think again. You see, they’re not interested in the truth – they only seem interested in advancing their defeatist political message: America is almost always wrong–America is the source of many of the world’s problems."

There's some hypocrisy at work here, Morgan contends.

"Michael Moore used his film to viciously attack George W. Bush and undermine support for the war on terror," she told John Gibson on the Fox News Channel.

It turns out it was Carter, not Bush, hanging out with the bin Ladens, she said.

The Carters hosted Moore in the presidential viewing box at the 2004 Democratic National Convention while former President Bill Clinton addressed the delegates.

Gibson said the Carter Center declined the opportunity to respond to the charges.

Censure Carter is about to launch a second wave of national television ads urging Americans to rebuke Carter's efforts in North Korea, Iraq, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba and elsewhere.

"The mainstream media is pretending that the Carter-bin Laden story is a non-issue, so the Censure Carter Campaign is out raising the money to air the facts in TV ads," the group says.

As WND reported last year, Morgan's Move America Forward said Carter was linked with a key figure in the U.N.'s oil-for-food scandal, Samir Vincent, who pleaded guilty to participating in numerous illegal activities.

Vincent admitted to receiving allocations for more than 9 million barrels of oil between 1996 and 2003 in return for serving as an agent of Saddam Hussein's regime. He worked at Hussein's direction, lobbying U.S. and U.N. officials to end sanctions and to instead implement the oil-for-food scam.

The first documented contact between Carter and Vincent was in September 1999. Vincent had organized a tour of Iraqi religious leaders to meet with individuals in the United States who might be persuaded to speak out against the sanctions against Iraq. The trip also included discussions of ways to oppose U.S. and British air strikes against Iraqi missile batteries in southern Iraq, which had fired on American and British aircraft engaged in enforcing the southern "No Fly Zone."

Memorial Day 2006

On this Memorial Day, folks, teach yourselves the following facts:

When some claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war, state the following:

FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

And maybe one day, when a woman in a burkha asks you as an American, as this happened in California, when is the US going to stop bombing her countrymen, say in a calm and gentle voice,
Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse Americans of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't need to be there today. But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid.
G-d Bless America and our armed forces and their families for their great sacrifice so that we could all be free.

Amnesty International Has Disproportionate Focus on Israel and the U.S.

From Amnesty International Has Disproportionate Focus on Israel and the U.S.:
The Capital Research Center (CRC), based in Washington, issued a report in May on Amnesty International (AI) charging that the group has adopted "double standards on human rights...an unrealistic view on armed conflict, and propaganda against America and Israel."

A statistical analysis of AI's published material from 2005 to May 2006 shows that Israel is the subject of the greatest number of AI publications per million citizens with 56 times more reports per million than North Korea and 25 times more than Egypt.

Empowering Americans to Defeat Terrorism

Executive Summary from Divest Terror:

"Terrorism Investments of the 50 States" is the first national security-based statistical analysis of the investment patterns of America's public pension funds. This report proves empirically that this nation's largest and most prominent public pension systems tend to be heavily invested in global publicly traded companies that have business activities in terrorist-sponsoring states. 1

Together, these funds invest over $1 trillion in stock alone 2 on behalf of this country's fire fighters, police officers, teachers, state and local officials and other public employees, making this collection of funds one of the most powerful investment blocks in the world. Given this extraordinary financial influence and the important role played by public companies in the economies of terrorist-sponsoring states 3, the Center for Security Policy has reached a key finding: America's 100 largest and most prominent pension systems have the power to help defeat terrorism.

From the pension system of this country's smallest state, Rhode Island, which has close to $400 million invested in 41 companies that are active in terrorist-sponsoring states, to America's largest public pension system -- the California Public Employees Retirement System -- which has over $17 billion invested in 201 such companies, the results were remarkably uniform:

On average, America's Top 100 pension systems invest between 15 and 23 percent of their portfolio in companies that do business in terrorist-sponsoring states.4

Among the report's other important findings:

-- 39 of the Top 100 pension systems were found to be invested in more than 100 companies with corporate ties to terrorist-sponsoring states. Of the rest for which there is data, only five hold less than 30 companies with such ties in portfolio.

-- On average, the Top 100 pension systems invest in 101 companies that have business activities in terrorist sponsoring states. These companies, in turn, are involved in projects in terrorist-sponsoring states valued at more than $73 billion. 5

-- On average, the Top 100 public funds were invested in: 73 companies doing business in Iran; 24 companies doing business in Libya; 26 companies doing business in Sudan; 31 companies doing business in Syria; and 9 companies doing business in North Korea.

-- On average, the Top 100 pension systems were invested in 17 companies that did business with Saddam Hussein's Iraq prior to the war.

From the fact that virtually each and every public employee in this country holds stock in companies that partner with governments that sponsor terrorism flows an extraordinary opportunity: America's 100 largest and most influential pension systems have the power to help defeat terrorism. To understand why requires only one further statistic: The total estimated value of the stock of some 400 companies doing business in terrorist sponsoring states held by America's leading public pension systems is approximately $188 billion.6

When a group of investors own roughly $200 billion worth of stock in some 400 companies, they should be able to exercise considerable influence over the decision-making and business activities of those companies. Accordingly, if these Top 100 pension systems were to make clear that their funds will not be available to corporations partnering with terrorist-sponsoring states, the message would be unmistakable: There will no longer be simply profits to be garnered from investments in rogue states; from now on, there will be real costs. Ideally, those costs will translate into a choice between doing business with the American people and capital markets on the one hand or, alternatively, doing business with terrorists' friends and this country's enemies.

The South Africa divestment campaign of the 1980's taught Americans a compelling lesson: When companies receive a unified message from state pension systems and other institutional investors who follow their lead, they respond. It seems reasonable to expect that, just as such corporate actions (notably, withdrawal from business operations in-country) compelled changes in the policies -- and ultimately the government -- of South Africa, application of this model to state-sponsors of terror could also produce salutary results. In other words, the Top 100 public pension systems can help defeat terrorism by using their investments in public companies to force the governments of Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan and Libya to choose between their sponsorship of terrorism and their critical partnerships with public companies.

In a recent letter to the Executive Directors of the same Top 100 pension systems assessed herein, Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) left little doubt as to the moral responsibility of our nation's pension systems to help defeat terrorism. According to the Senator, "It is uncon-scionable for our country's public pension systems to permit investment in companies that provide revenues, advanced equipment and technology to countries that threaten our vital security interests."

The data in this report establishes that such "unconscionable" behavior is pervasively occurring today. For Americans to understand the full extent to which their money is being used by publicly traded companies to help terrorist-sponsoring regimes, they will need greater transparency and disclosure on the part of those who manage and invest such funds. Toward that end, public employees, taxpayers and state and federal officials and legislators should insist on knowing the full extent of their unintended and undesirable exposure -- moral, strategic and financial -- to aiding and abetting our enemies.

In the meantime, a simple principle must be applied: Americans do not want to invest in terror, directly or indirectly. Regrettably, that is what is being done on a massive scale today. Stopping such a practice -- the goal of DivestTerror.org -- can make a significant contribution to waging and winning the war on terror.

This report sought to analyze America's "Top 100" largest and most prominent public pension systems, excluding public university endowments. At the time of publication, only 87 of these public pension funds had provided the data required to undertake this analysis.

America's Top 100 funds invest via a number of other investment vehicles, making their total investments on behalf of the American people closer to $2 trillion.

For the purposes of this report, terrorist-sponsoring states are defined as Iran, Saddam Hussein's Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan and Syria. Although Cuba is also correctly listed as a state-sponsor of terrorism by the U.S. Department of State, relevant data for Cuba was not available for this study.

To perform the analyses of the 100 pension systems' investment portfolios, the Center forwarded this data to the Conflict Securities Advisory Group (CSAG). Using their Global Security Risk Monitor, CSAG ran each portfolio to determine its exposure to companies doing business in terrorist-sponsoring states or to proliferation-related concerns. The Center's use of this data and the views and policy recommendations expressed in this report do not necessarily reflect those of CSAG or its partner firm, Investor Responsibility Research Center.

Of the roughly 400 companies considered in this report, project values and similar financial data was available for only some 150 companies. A reasonable estimate of the value of all 400 companies' projects in terrorist-sponsoring countries would be well over $100 billion.

Based on the results for the 87 funds analyzed, we estimate that the actual holdings of the Top 100 pension systems in the stock of companies that do business in terrorist-sponsoring states likely exceeds $210 billion.

British Teachers' Boycott of Israeli Academics Makes Anti-Semitism Official

Dear Friend of FLAME:
You may be aware that the British Association of University Teachers (AUT) has declared an "academic boycott" against two Israeli universities and its academic staff. The Association has not seen fit to condemn Palestinian terrorism---or terrorism of any sort in any part of the world---nor has it chastised repressive dictatorships, such as Syria or North Korea, nor those responsible for the genocide in Darfur. One can only conclude that Israel was singled out because it is a Jewish state.

Even the staid London Times decried the AUT resolution in an April 25 editorial: "The decision ... is a mockery of academic freedom, a biased and blinkered move that is as ill-timed as it is perverse ...[It] can quickly become an excuse for anti-Semitism ... Why does the AUT not call for a ban on contacts in dozens of other countries inimical to human rights? ... AUT members should defeat this pernicious ban by cultivating every contact available as soon as possible with the two Israeli universities."

This article, written by Douglas Davis before the resolution was passed, throws a somewhat humorous, but ultimately dead-serious light on this important subject. At the same time the article makes clear what enormous contributions Israel has made and continues to make to science, to technology and to the welfare of the world. Obviously, the examples given in the articles are only the tip of the iceberg of Israeli accomplishments in so many fields. Israel's achievements are the more admirable since they were reached despite almost incessant war and terror since the birth of the state and despite the ingathering and absorption into its society of millions of people.

Israel, keep building that security fence!

Israel plans to continue building a controversial 400-mile anti-terrorist barrier between itself and the West Bank. Though the International Court of Justice has ruled that the fence violates international law, it remains highly popular among Israelis - attacks have declined by as much as 90% in certain areas since construction began two years ago.

Today the West Bank barrier is just one of many partitions around the world aimed at repelling invaders. Other notable security barriers include:

North Korea/South Korea - this 151-mile-long demilitarized zone has separated the two Koreas since 1953 and is the most heavily fortified border in the world; Cyprus - a 112-mile-long construction of concrete, barbed wire, watchtowers, minefields, and ditches has separated the island's Turks from its Greeks since 1974; Morocco-Western Sahara - ten-foot-high sand and stone barriers, some mined, built in the 1980s, run for at least 1,500 miles to keep West Saharan guerrillas out of Morocco; India/Pakistan - India has so far installed more than 700 miles of fencing, much of which is electrified, and it will eventually run the entire 1,800-mile border with Pakistan; Saudi Arabia/Yemen - in 2003 Saudi Arabia began building a ten-foot-high barrier along its border with Yemen to prevent terrorist infiltration.

Nine congressmen ask Annan to observe our Election Day

Folks, I just can't believe what a bizarro world we are living in. Nine members of our U.S. Congress requested in a letter to Kofi Annan that the UN assign international observers to the U.S. presidential election in November! The United Nations?! That's like asking the fox to guard the hen house!

"Let me get this straight," wrote Joe Mariani in GOPUSA.com. "A group of Democrats want to bring some people from countries like North Korea, Iran, Syria, China and Cuba – people that have never seen a democratic election in their lifetimes – to sit in judgment on our elections? What kind of voodoo politics is that? The last time a foreign body had any direct influence over the political process of this country, the situation was corrected by a war for our freedom from British rule. Are these so-called Americans so willing to surrender that hard-won right of self-determination now, and to such a shamelessly scandal-ridden group of anti-American dictatorships and terrorist sympathizers? We may as well dissolve the Union now and save ourselves the pain of watching it done for us."

Here are the names, states, and party alliances - oh, why bother doing that - they're all Democrats - of the nine cowards. I'm so offended by these nine that I demand they each resign from their posts:

The request came in the form of a letter drafted by Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Texas. Besides Johnson, the other representatives signing the letter to Annan - all Democrats - were Julia Carson of Indiana; Jerrold Nadler, Edolphus Towns, Joseph Crowley and Carolyn B. Maloney, all of New York; Raul Grijalva of Arizona, Corrine Brown of Florida, Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland, Danny K. Davis of Illinois and Michael M. Honda of California.

Folks, start writing letters to these fractured statespersons and tell them you are ashamed of them. Their emails should appear on their linked pages.

Israel does not exist by Mike Evans

Why does the U.S. government not recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital when, in fact, it has been the capital of Israel for 3,300 years – since the days of King David?

The 104th Congress passed public law 104-45 – the Jerusalem Embassy Act – in 1995. This document officially recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Public Law 104-45 also allocates $25 million to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.

Why has this been postponed by a presidential waiver every six months since it was passed in Congress? The premise is that implementing the move of the embassy to Jerusalem, and recognizing one of the oldest capitals in the world, would cause a national security threat in the United States.

In 1988, I confronted Yasser Arafat at the 43rd General Assembly in Geneva concerning the fact that Jerusalem was the capital of Israel. In an uncontrollable rage, Arafat began to scream, "Shut up! Shut up!" Arafat refused to sign documents at Camp David that would have met the vast majority of his demands (including half of Jerusalem). Why? He would have had to recognize Israel's right to exist.

The real reason is plain and simple: Arab bigots do not want the United States to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital. In doing so, it would constitute recognizing Israel's right to exist. These same bigots attacked Spain in an attempt to use terrorism as a weapon to force the Spanish government to pull out of the coalition in Iraq, and accept a doctrine of appeasement. It appears to have worked in Spain.

Why do U.S. presidents continue to sign a waiver that postpones the implementation of the Jerusalem Embassy Act? The answer is simple: Blackmail by Arab bigots who refuse to acknowledge Israel's right to exist.

On Sept. 5, 1972, the entire world was shocked when one of the most despicable terrorism attacks in history took place at the Munich Olympics. Arab terrorists (later identified as Palestinians) took hostage and then murdered 11 Israeli athletes in an attempt to blackmail the Israeli government into releasing 200 Arab prisoners. The Palestinian terrorists who mounted the attack were, in fact, members of a PLO faction, Black September. Their murderous actions were approved, financed and celebrated by Yasser Arafat.

Amazingly, the official website of the Athens 2004 Olympic games on Feb. 29, 2004, under "Palestine" stated that the capital was Jerusalem. How in the world can a country that doesn't exist have a capital? After receiving a great number of complaints, the website was changed to read, "The State of Israel is part of the continent of Europe."

This is astonishing to anyone who understands geography. The U.S. State Department calls it "the Near East." Could it be that because Arab bigots refuse to recognize Israel's right to exist, the Olympic Committee concurs? Why should we be surprised when the U.S. president and others refuse to acknowledge that Israel even has a capital? It is the theater of the absurd and a festival of hypocrisy.

The Egyptian-born Arafat has never stated in any document that he wanted West Jerusalem – it was always East Jerusalem (al-Quds). On the other hand, he has frequently said that the Palestinian flag would fly over all the churches and mosques of Jerusalem – referring to the entire city. In fact, the city of Jerusalem has never been the capital of an Arab state in the 1,400 years since the Quran was written, and is not directly mentioned in the Quran.

I am outraged that the Olympic committee recognized the capital of Cuba (Havana), the capital of North Korea (Pyongyang), and the capital of Iran (Tehran), but refuses to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of our closest ally in the Middle East.

President Bush is a man of moral character and clarity. The second week of June, the Jerusalem Embassy Act will again be presented to Mr. Bush. He has a choice either to sign a national security waiver, or allow it to be enacted into law. It is time for him to stand up to Arab bigots, and refuse to sign another waiver on the Jerusalem Embassy Act. There is nothing in the Jerusalem Embassy Act that violates either U.S. or U.N. policy.

Each time the national security waiver is signed, we are saying to terrorists and bigots, "You win." America needs the blessings of God more than favor with Arab bigots. Mr. Bush needs to send a signal to all the would-be Osamas that the party is over. No longer will America allow terrorists to threaten our nation into choosing political expediency over moral clarity.

If Rudolph Giuliani had the courage to say, "No, thank you," to an Arab sheik that wanted to create linkage between 9-11 and Israel, President Bush needs to have moral clarity to do the same. America is in a state of moral decay. It is time for our president to let the godfather of world terrorism, the architect of the Munich massacre, know that the party is over. It is time to freeze the $1.25 billion dollars Arafat has stolen from the Palestinian people, and use it to build schools, hospitals, housing and a broadcasting network that does not glamorize and immortalize suicide bombers.

Israel does not exist by Mike Evans

December 28, 2003

Want Israel to remove her fence? You remove yours first.

To our big surprise we discovered that there exist some fences and barriers in the world, outside of Israel. Some of them even can be found in major UN member nations. Please help the world get rid of the fences and write to the heads of state and representatives to the United Nations.

First, we start with the fence between Mexico and the USA. There is really no need for this fence since the millions of illegal Mexicans in the United States do not commit suicide bomb attacks in American restaurants.

Write to Mr. Bush and Mr. Powell today. Nobody told them about this fence.

Then we continue with the fence between North and South Korea. A totally useless fence since the regimes of both countries share the same democratic values. Remind their representatives about this:

Permanent Representative of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to the UN

A fence in Europe. Could it be? But those people live in peace. The fence between Cyprus and the Turkish occupied territory should be removed at once, not only opened during daytime.

Write about this to:
Permanent Representative of Turkey to the UN
821 United Nations Plaza
10th Floor
New York, NY 10017
Telephone: (212) 949-0150, Telefax: (212) 949-0086

Another fence in Europe:
In Northern Ireland this time, where thanks to wise British policy, Catholics and Protestants live in peace together for centuries. Let's get rid of this fence!

Write to Mr. Blair. He does not know of these fences in Belfast.

Rt Hon Tony Blair MP, Prime Minister
10 Downing Street

This is a good fence, as friendly Dutch people know how to build. It is only meant to keep illegal immigrants from leaving the harbor area of Hoek van Holland. But the purpose is like any other fence: keep the wrong people out of your country.

Minister President, J.P. Balkenende
Ministerie van Algemene Zaken

Now, this is really bad, a fence between two major United Nations members, India and Pakistan. Look what is says at the website of Tribune: A farmer with his bullock cart moves along the Indo-Pak border fence near Amritsar on Monday. He has agricultural land beyond the fence.

Write your letter to :
Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN
Pakistan House
8 East 65thStreet
New York, NY 10021
Telephone: (212) 879-8600
Telefax: (212) 744-7348

Another one in Europe: Is it possible? In Solana's own country! Spain erected a barbed wired fence, guarded by soldiers, in Ceuta, on the border with Morocco, in order to keep illegal workers (without bombs) out of Spain.

Write to:
Presidente del Gobierno de Espanaa, Jos×™ Mara Aznar Lopez
Complejo de La Moncloa
28071 Madrid
fax 91-335-32-15

=====

And another:
Just to let you know that there is now a fence between Botswana and Zimbabwe - to stop the Zimbabweans from entering.

Only after we get rid of all these fences, one could ask Israel not to build a fence that protects her citizens from "Palestinian" terrorists.
