Muslim World Inflamed by Rushdie Knighthood

From Muslim World Inflamed by Rushdie Knighthood:
Eighteen years after the Ayatollah Khomeini issued a fatwa calling on Muslims to kill author Salman Rushdie, he is once again the subject of death threats across the Islamic world. Muhammad Ali Hosseini, Iran's foreign affairs spokesman, said on Sunday that Rushdie's recent knighthood "will definitely put the British officials in confrontation with Islamic societies."

Carter: Stop favoring Fatah over Hamas

Jimmy Carter is actually rooting for Hamas so that the destruction of Israel by Hamas can progress with more speed. I hope that Jimmy Carter can give one last interview where he can define the exact data-point in his life where he decided then and forever that the only good Jew is a dead Jew. I really want to know what happened to this Jew-hating imbecile to make him turn out to be a supporter of serial killers. From Carter: Stop favoring Fatah over Hamas:
The United States, Israel and the European Union must end their policy of favoring Fatah over Hamas, or they will doom the Palestinian people to deepening conflict between the rival movements, former US President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday. Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate who was addressing a conference of Irish human rights officials, said the Bush administration's refusal to accept the 2006 election victory of Hamas was "criminal."
The truth is the entire nightmare of Iran can be traced back to the liberal democratic policies of the leftist Jimmy Carter, who created a firestorm that destabilized our greatest ally in the Muslim world, the shah of Iran, in favor of a religious fanatic, the ayatollah Khomeini. Carter Urges Iowa Voters Not to Back "Knee-Jerk Supporters" of Israel

Look at what this detestable Jew-hating bastard accomplished in just four years as president. He convinced Israel to give away the Suez Canal. He gave away US control of the Panama Canal which the US built. He allowed the Shah's friendly Iranian government to collapse, he allowed the malevolent extremist regime of the Ayatollah Khomeini to take over and dig its roots deep, he botched the Iranian hostage rescue mission which was an international embarassment, he allowed Iranian terrorists to hold American hostages for more than 444 days, and very nearly bankrupted our country economically. This bastard is a menace. And he dares to preach moral lucidity to college students? Shyeah, riiiiiight. From Carter Urges Iowa Voters Not to Back "Knee-Jerk Supporters" of Israel:

As long as American politicians are seen as "knee-jerk supporters" of Israel, the country's role as the principal Mideast peace broker will be endangered, former President Jimmy Carter told a crowd Wednesday at the University of Iowa. Carter told the crowd of 6,000 that he chose Iowa out of the 100 university lecture invitations he received because of the power of Iowa caucus voters to select candidates.

"The main reason I came to Iowa is to make sure you knew you could shape an outcome in the 2008 presidential election. At least you can screen out candidates," he said. "Make them pledge to you...that they will take a balanced position between Israel and Palestinians."

A Khomeinist in Austin

Via HotAir. This week's edition of Jihad Watch looks at the actions of the Texas Legislature in inviting a Khomeinist Imam to pray at a session. Robert Spencer reports on the video:
"Islam makes it incumbent on all adult males, provided they are not disabled or incapacitated, to prepare themselves for the conquest of countries so that the writ of Islam is obeyed in every country in the world... But those that study Islam will understand why Islam wants to conquer the whole world." -- Ayatollah Khomeini
Study up, boys and girls. Surely, your knowledge of Islam will be tested again, as those of us with clear vision were tested on 9-11.

Texas Senate prayer excludes Christians

I can't believe this is happening in the great state of Texas. Via WND:

A Texas imam who at one point participated in a "tribute to the great Islamic visionary" Ayatollah Khomeini, has offered a prayer to open the state Senate that excluded both Christians and Jews. "Oh, Allah, guide us to the straight path, the path of those whom you have favored, not of those who have earned your wrath or of those who have lost the way," prayed Imam Yusuf Kavakci of the Dallas Central Mosque.

Islam, of course, teaches that Jews and Christians both have earned the wrath of Allah by failing to follow Islam, and also have lost the way by following the teachings of the Torah for the Jews or the Bible for Christians.

Kavakci concluded "with an Islamic chant that sounded eerily like it was coming over the loudspeakers in Tehran," according to a statement from the U.S. Pastor Council. "Ironically, it was a Jewish Republican, Sen. Florence Shapiro, (available by e-mail at Florence.Shapiro@senate.state.tx.us) who invited the imam to give the prayer that specifically excluded those of her faith as well as Christians."

Blood Feud

From Blood Feud:
The Shia holiday of Ashura, which celebrates the martyrdom of the Imam Hussein at Karbala in 680 CE, generates an endless supply of gruesome images: thousands of enraged young men slicing their foreheads with swords, beating themselves with chains, and screaming their allegiance to Allah in the streets of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan, and across the Muslim world - scenes that perfectly encapsulate Western fears of militant Islam. While you won't see
any self-flagellation at Hizbullah's Ashura ceremonies, the movement has appropriated the ancient rite for its own political ends, and it is actually promoting a more dangerous form of violence. In the southern suburbs of Beirut, Hizbullah supporters marched and chanted "Death to America!" and "Death to Israel!" and adorned the streets with revolutionary quotes from Ayatollah Khomeini.

The Second Holocaust Is Looming by Benny Morris

Folks, here's an interesting statement from Benny Morris, who has turned around in his anti-Israel views. He was the world's most famous far-left, post-Zionist famous for criticizing Israel. Now he supports Israel. Moral of the story? People can evolve. Too bad Islam can not.

Benny Morris writes :

The second Holocaust will be quite different. One bright morning, in five or ten years' time, perhaps during a regional crisis, perhaps out of the blue, a day or a year or five years after Iran's acquisition of the Bomb, the mullahs in Qom will covoke in secret session, under a portrait of the steely-eyed Ayatollah Khomeini, and give President Ahmedinejad, by then in his second or third term, the go ahead. The orders will go out and the Shihab III and IV missiles will take off for Tel Aviv, Beersheba, Haifa, and Jerusalem, and probably some military sites, including Israel's half dozen air and (reported) nuclear missile bases. Some of the Shihabs will be nuclear-tipped, perhaps even with multiple warheads. Others will be dupes, packed merely with biological or chemical agents, or old newspapers, to draw off or confuse Israel's anti-missile batteries and Home Guard units.

With a country the size and shape of Israel (an elongated 8,000 square miles), probably four or five hits will suffice: No more Israel. A million or more Israelis, in the greater Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem areas, will die immediately. Millions will be seriously irradiated. Israel has about seven million inhabitants. No Iranian will see or touch an Israeli. It will be quite impersonal.

Dramatic, frightening, and quite plausible. Click here to read the rest of Benny Morris' presumptions.

Muslims and their use of women as human shields

By Emanuel A. Winston, Mid East Analyst & Commentator:

Would any American, European or Israeli man call for his wife, mother, sister or daughter to come into a fire-fight and stand as human shields to protect male terrorists? The Arab Muslim Palestinians think nothing of using women, children, the elderly as "human shields".

These are the great macho Muslim men who take such pride in their self-perceived masculinity. They not only called up their women as a shield but, to bring them women’s dresses to disguise themselves and escape within the crowd of women.

Worse yet, after they became females some of the escaping terrorists fired their weapons from the crowd of women, drawing fire from the Israelis who were after the terrorists using the mosque as a hiding place. The Israelis return fire struck the crowd of women who were
shielding the escaping male terrorists, killing two women and injured some 10 others.

What heroic figures, what role models for their children. Would you hide behind the skirts of your mother, wife, sisters or daughters so you could escape?

I recall how Ayatollah Khomeini in his war with Iraq, sent children to run across the Iraqi mine-fields so the Iranian soldiers might cross safely. But, not to worry, Khomeini gave them slips of paper that told the children that they would soon be in Muslim warriors’ heaven.

Of course, many did not die but, merely had their limbs blown off so they could live the rest of their lives as maimed cripples.

There were many other instances where the heroic Muslims used their civilians as "Human Shields". In their several wars with Israel many of the Arab adversaries such as Egypt, Syria, the Arab Muslim Palestinians under Yassir Arafat in Lebanon, used to place their anti-aircraft guns on the roofs of schools, hospitals and civilian apartment buildings. The ground-to-air missile batteries were too heavy and hard to re-load so some missile batteries were actually placed in school yards at ground level.

When they were hit by Israeli aircraft, the Muslims would bleat and howl about how the "inhuman Israelis were killing their children and blowing up their hospitals".

In the recent attacks by the Hezb’Allah from Lebanon, they indiscriminately launched their Kassam Rockets against any Israeli city their missiles could reach. Many of the launchers were pre-positioned in Arab civilians’ houses, apartment buildings, schools and hospitals. The Katyusha launchers were on wheels and kept in the living room of the apartments. When they were ready to fire, they rolled the Katyusha launcher out onto the balcony, fired and then withdrew back into the apartment. This, of course, made both the apartment and the whole building, inhabited by civilians, a must-hit target. As for the so-called civilians, they either cheered their guests who were family to them or had little choice in hosting the Hezb’Allah shooters.

In South Lebanon the Hezb’Allah were funded, supplied and trained by Iran and Syria. Iran and Syria are still smuggling weapons across the border from Iran through Syria under the eyes of the MNF (Multi-National Force). In South Lebanon, the Hebz’Allah dug tunnels, built bunkers, loaded those bunkers with Katyusha missiles often within a few hundred feet of the soldiers of UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Forces In Lebanon). They only reported back to Kofi Annan of the U.N.

Sadly, the UNIFIL and now the MNF acted as silent partners to Hezb’Allah pretending to be impartial Peacekeepers. The presence of U.N. "Peacekeepers" would keep Israel from shooting back at Hezb’Allah near UNIFIL or MNF outposts. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. When Israel was forced to shell an area from where the Katyusha rockets were being launched and hit a UNIFIL post, Kofi Annan and the pro-Arab U.N. threw a fit and voted condemnation. They never voted condemnation of the Lebanese Government who were supposed to put their army at the Lebanese-Israeli border, disarm and disband Hezb’Allah - preventing them from attacking Israel. But, they never did.

Terrorists would slip past UNIFIL positions to cross into Israel but, were never stopped or challenged by UNIFIL. IF the terrorists were successful in a terrorist attack, they merely slipped back past the UNIFIL soldiers with a wink and a nod. Of course, the UNIFIL soldiers could not resist a cash bribe, always denied by Kofi Annan.

That "History Spin" is already being written by the Left and Liberal Media as they cast the terrorists as some sort of heroes for escaping the mosque they hid in behind a shield of women and then they demonize Israel for chasing these "poor, innocent Muslim Islamists".

The firing of Kassam Rockets is reported as a matter of fact but, not a very important event. The "Spin" is that the reader is to accept Arab Terror and firing of missiles at Israeli civilians as kind of a naturally expected custom of Arabs so don’t think too much about it.

But, according to the Media and some in the Washington Administration, for Israel to attack for retribution is both unnecessary and the use of excessive force.

Khatami Comes to National Cathedral

Via Khatami Comes to National Cathedral:

One of the most unsavory of the Iranian theocracy’s numerous human rights abuses is its persecution of non-Muslims, including Christians.

Not overly concerned with religious liberty, or even the plight of fellow Christians, Washington’s National Cathedral is throwing open its doors today (Thursday) for former Iranian President and Islamic cleric Mohammad Khatami. Without any sense of irony, by him or the cathedral’s Episcopalian masters, Khatami will talk about how the three "Abrahamic faiths" can build peace in the world.

According to the National Cathedral’s website, Khatami was the “first reformist president” of Iran following the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Indeed, the website gushes, the mullah was elected with the “broad support of women and young adults” and is “credited with the promotion of the rule of law, democracy, and the inclusion of all Iranians in the political decision-making process.”

If the basis of comparison is the Ayatollah Khomeini or the various other thugs, kleptocrats, and sadistic clerics who have governed Iran since Iran’s “liberation” from the Shah, not to mention the current psychotic Iranian president, then perhaps Khatami seems halfway reasonable. But his presidency from 1997-2005 nonetheless maintained the theocratic reign of the mullahs, who then and now outlaw any real opposition, murder and imprison opponents, and suppress any religious and cultural forces not confirming to their brand of Shiite Islam.

Europe and the War in Lebanon

In 1978 France was the only country in the world that offered warm and sympathetic political refuge to the spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini. French Foreign Minister Douste-Blazy declared during a recent visit to Beirut that:

"Iran constitutes a stabilizing force in the Middle East and it should be taken into account and included in any arrangement for restoring quiet to our region." He told Le Monde on August 12 that the purpose of the enlarged UNIFIL in southern Lebanon would not include the disarming of Hizballah by force.

Recently, French Maj.-Gen. Alain Pellegrini has commanded the UNIFIL force. Hizballah fortified its positions and brought in huge quantities of weapons and ammunition right under his nose. Did he warn of the arming of Hizballah by Iran and Syria? Did he prevent the kidnapping of the Israeli soldiers? In any multinational force, France will not take upon itself the task of disarming Hizballah.

Ahmadinejad’s Apocalyptic Faith

An excerpt from Ahmadinejad’s Apocalyptic Faith:
Ahmadinejad’s worldview is shaped by the radical Hojjatieh Shiism that is best represented by Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi, the Iranian President’s ideological mentor and marja-e taqlid (object of emulation), of the popular Haqqani religious school located in Qom. The affection seems to be mutual: in the 2005 Iranian presidential campaign, Ayatollah Yazdi issued a fatwa calling on his supporters to vote for Ahmadinejad.

The Hojjatieh movement is considered to be so radical that it was banned in 1983 by the Ayatollah Khomeini and is still opposed by the majority of the Iranian clerics, including the Supreme Leader of the Supreme National Security Council, Ayatollah Ali Khamanei. That should be telling in and of itself. That opposition notwithstanding, it is believed that several adherents of the Hojjatieh sect are in Cabinet-level positions in Ahmadinejad’s government.

Most Shiites await the return of the 12th Shiite Imam, Muhammad ibn Hasan, the last direct male descendent of the Prophet Mohammed’s son-in-law Ali, who disappeared in 874AD and is believed to be in an invisible, deathless state of existene, or “occultation”, awaiting his return. Though it is discounted even by the most extremist clerics, a popular belief in Iran holds that the 12th Imam, also called the Mahdi or the sahib-e zaman (“the Ruler of Time”), lives at the bottom of a well in Jamkaran, just outside of Qom. Devotees drop written requests into the well to communicate with the Mahdi. His reappearance will usher in a new era of peace as Islam vanquishes all of its enemies. The Sunnis, who reject the successors of Ali, believe that the Mahdi has yet to be born.

But rooted in the Shiite ideology of martyrdom and violence, the Hojjatieh sect adds messianic and apocalyptic elements to an already volatile theology. They believe that chaos and bloodshed must precede the return of the 12th Imam, called the Mahdi. But unlike the biblical apocalypse, where the return of Jesus is preceded by waves of divinely decreed natural disasters, the summoning of the Mahdi through chaos and violence is wholly in the realm of human action. The Hojjatieh faith puts inordinate stress on the human ability to direct divinely appointed events. By creating the apocalyptic chaos, the Hojjatiehs believe it is entirely in the power of believers to affect the Mahdi’s reappearance, the institution of Islamic government worldwide, and the destruction of all competing faiths.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has clearly indicated that he is a true believer in this faith. It has been reported that he has told confidants that he anticipates the immanent return of the Mahdi. When he previously served as Mayor of Tehran, he advocated for widening the roads to accommodate the Mahdi’s triumphal entry into the city. One of his first acts of office as President was to dedicate approximately $20 million to the restoration and improvement of the mosque at Jamkaran, where the Mahdi is claimed to dwell.

This personal belief directs his official policies as President. He has publicly said, “Our revolution’s main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam, the Mahdi. We should define our economic, cultural and political policies on the policy of the Imam Mahdi’s return.”
Upon his return to Iran from speaking at the UN, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met with Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli, where the two discussed an alleged paranormal occurrence while Ahmadinejad spoke.

They should have just thrown some holy water on him. That usually silences the demon-possessed. Read the rest of Ahmadinejad’s Apocalyptic Faith here.

Iranian cataclysm forecast Aug. 22

More on August 22, 2006, from WND:

A top expert on the Mideast says it is possible Iran could pick Aug. 22, the anniversary of one of Islam's holiest events, for a cataclysm Shiite Muslims believe will forever resolve the battle between "good" and "evil."
Princeton's Bernard Lewis has written an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal advising that the rest of the world would be wise to bear in mind that for those who believe the end of the world is imminent and good, there is no deterrent even to nuclear warfare.

As WorldNetDaily has reported, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has urged his people to prepare for the coming of an Islamic "messiah," raising concerns a nuclear-armed Islamic Republic could trigger the kind of global conflagration he envisions will set the stage for the end of the world.

He's also said, in a WND report, that Islam and its followers must prepare to rule the world, because it is a "universal ideology that leads the world to justice."

Now comes Lewis, who notes that the world must be concerned about a leader for whom the possibility of death is not a deterrent.

"In this context, mutual assured destruction, the deterrent that worked so well during the Cold War, would have no meaning," Lewis wrote. "At the end of time, there will be general destruction anyway. What will matter will be the final destination of the dead – hell for the infidels, and heaven for the believers.

"For people with this mindset, MAD is not a constraint, it is an inducement," he said.

Lewis noted that Ahmadinejad has referred to Aug. 22 several times, including when he rejected – until that date – United Nations requests for nuclear program information.

Lewis, joining several other Mideast experts who have expressed similar concerns, said Aug. 22 corresponds to the 27th day of the month of Rajab of the year 1427.

"This, by tradition, is the night when many Muslims commemorate the night flight of the prophet Muhammad on the winged horse Buraq, first to 'the farthest mosque,' usually identified with Jerusalem, and then to heaven and back," Lewis wrote.

In Islam, as in other religious, certain beliefs describe the "cosmic struggle" at the end of time. For Shiite Muslims, Lewis wrote, this will be "the long awaited return of the Hidden Imam, ending in the final victory of the forces of good over evil."

The significance, he said, is that there's a "radical" difference between Iran and other governments with nuclear weapons.

"This difference is expressed in what can only be described as the apocalyptic worldview of Iran's present rulers," he wrote. Iran's leaders now "clearly believe that this time is now, and that the terminal struggle has already begun and is indeed well advanced."

As for intent, a passage from the Ayatollah Khomeini, quoted in an 11th-grade Iranian schoolbook, reveals priorities: "I am decisively announcing to the whole world that if the world-devourers (i.e., the infidel powers) wish to stand against our religion, we will stand against their whole world and will not cease until the annihilation of all them. Either we all become free, or we will go to the greater freedom which is martyrdom."

Lewis wrote, "This might well be deemed an appropriate date for the apocalyptic ending of Israel and if necessary the world. It is far from certain that Mr. Ahmadanejad plans any such cataclysmic events precisely for Aug. 22. But it would be wise to bear the possibility in mind."

Lewis, the Cleveland E. Dodge professor emeritus of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University, specializes in Muslim history and interaction between Muslims and the West.

His comments echoed those made just a few days earlier by Robert Spencer, another scholar of Islamic history, theology and law and the director of Jihad Watch.

In an article for FrontPageMagazine.com, he wrote that Farid Ghadry, president of the Reform Party of Syria, noted the commemoration of Muhammad's ascent to heaven from the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

Spencer said the Night Journey, or Miraj, is what makes Jerusalem a holy site for Islam, and Islamic tradition believes Muhammad, along with the angel Gabriel, went to the Temple Mount, and then to heaven in a bathing of light over Jerusalem.

Spencer reported that Ghadry talked of Ahmadinejad's plans for an illumination of the night sky over Jerusalem to rival the light of that Islamic belief.

Ghadry said what the Iranian president is "promising the world by August 22 is the light in the sky over the Aqsa Mosque," Spencer said.

He said a nuclear attack on Jerusalem, or even a conventional attack, would be consistent with the references that have been made, including Ahmadinejad's talk that Israel "pushed the button of its own destruction" by returning fire for Hezbollah's rocket barrage.

Also, "Atomic Iran" author Jerome Corsi notes that it's less significant whether Hezbollah survives, "but it's really the first chapter in the play for Iran and the Shiite Islam nation to come to ascendancy in the Muslim world."

First is the battle against Israel and the United States, he said, then against Sunni Islam. Where that group is more dominant, he said, is in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, where group members are "not unhappy to see Iran contained."

"They may launch an attack, but I still think if they had a weapon they would just go ahead and use it," Corsi said. "Terrorists don't brag about things they're going to do until after they do it."

He said the recent comments are more typical of terrorists' efforts to get attention.

"When Ahmadinejad is capable of taking action he will do it without any warning or bravado; he'll just do it," Corsi said.

In the updated edition of "Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians," now available in paperback from WND Books, Corsi discusses many of the disturbing developments related to Iran.

Meanwhile, Tanzanian customs officials have uncovered an Iranian smuggling operation transporting large quantities of bomb-making uranium from the same mines in the Congo that provided the nuclear material for the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima 61 years ago, according to a recent report in the London Sunday Times.

A United Nations report, outlining the interception last October, said there is "no doubt" the smuggled uranium-238 came from mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo's mineral-rich Katanga province.

The smuggled uranium discovered by Tanzanian customs agents was hidden in shipment of coltan, a rare mineral used to make chips in mobile telephones. According to the manifest, the coltan was to be smelted in the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan after being shipped to Bandar Abbas, Iran's largest port.

To the members of the Ceroc Scotland forum

To El Salsero Gringo, thank you for your intelligent and authoritative support of Israel. I would have emailed you directly to say so but your forum's registration process prevented me from doing so.

The unanswered questions continue to pile up regarding the tragedy at Qana. Of course, the deaths of civilians is tragic; we've had several thousands who we have mourned for in our country beginning with the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993, the Oklahoma City bombing, of course 9-11, and prior to that, Pearl Harbor. Nonetheless, some questions need to be answered before anyone can truthfully state that what happened in Qana was not the result of Nasrallah's - the bloodthirsty leader of Hezbollah - willingness to kill his own people in order to frame world opinion against Israel.

Here is a description of Hezbollah from Global Security.org. An excerpt:

Formed in 1982 in response to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, this Lebanon-based radical Shia group takes its ideological inspiration from the Iranian revolution and the teachings of the late Ayatollah Khomeini.
For the posters at Ceroc Scotland forum and for others who are unaware, Israel invaded Lebanon the first time in 1982, because earlier in the mid-1970s, the PLO had broadened its presence in Lebanon, establishing military training centers while escalating artillery and cross-border attacks on innocent civilians in northern Israel. Following the attempted assassination of the Israeli ambassador in London, Israel attacked PLO targets in Lebanon on June 4, 1982. The PLO responded with rocket and artillery barrages, and Israel retaliated by sending ground troops into Lebanon, in a mission titled "Operation Peace for the Galilee."

Related to this, the Japanese Red Army, a militaristic Japanese guerilla terrorist group, had unsurprisingly close ties to the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) which was part of the Palestine Liberation Organization(PLO), and both terrorist groups were responsible for the May 1972 Lod Airport Massacre which was a machine gun and grenade attack on Israel's Lod Airport in Tel Aviv, (now Ben Gurion International Airport), which left 26 people dead, and about 80 others were injured. Escaped members of the JRA and PFLP fled to the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon, where they were kept hidden from Japanese and Israeli authorities, with the aid and assistance of Lebanese civilians, for years. These are each facts which led to Israel's invasion of Lebanon in 1982.

Back to the present: IDF photos and records indicate that the building in Qana was hit (either directly or by Hezbollah's own launchers right next to the building, similar to what is seen here) between 12 and 1 AM. The building did not fall until 8AM - seven to eight hours after the bombs hit.

Why? Here were 56 women and children in a 3 story building. Most buildings in that area have two to four appartments per floor, except the ground floor which is usually a lobby and the maintainance caretaker's apartment, and of course, parking allocations. Israel warned the innocents to leave days in advance. Why were so many women and children together in the one building? Why were women, children and elderly the only ones killed? Where were the men? Could Nasrallah have told his Hezbollah henchmen to gather the women and children to that building and then blow up the building eight hours later in order to make it look like it was Israel's fault? It's worth investigating.

Palestinians, Syrians, and Lebanese have perpetrated lies against Israel in the past: the Sabra and Shatilla "massacre" , Deir Yassin "massacre", Jenin "massacre", Mohammad al-Dura's "murder", and the Gaza beach "massacre", are just a few.

Within a few hours of the building's collapse, there was a large rally in Beirut against Israel and the US. The rally featured a 30+ foot long poster featuring a picture of Condi and the words "The massacre of children in Qana 2, is the gift of Rice. The clever bombs..Stupid".

Wouldn't making such a poster be an all-day affair? Wouldn't such a large, high-quality poster need several hours of production before it would be ready and in place within hours of the Qana incident? Clearly, production would have had to start before the building fell down. Here's this from PowerLineBlog.

Then there's Mr. Green Helmet by EU Referendum, here and here. ( graphic pictures, folks ). Apparently the same two guys (one in a green helmet, one in a white T-shirt) manage to show up in almost every picture, holding dead children in different poses. At least one of the men was also on the scene in Qana 1996. I wonder if he is a member of the Screen Extras Guild. And here's this from Yaakov:
According to this Lebanese blog (English Google translation), Hizballah took a bunch of handicapped children, put them in the bomb shelter of this building, and then placed a missile launcher on top of the building for Israel to target. Dead children = good PR for Hizballah and more support for their cause from the Lebanese people.

Even if you don't buy this one has to wonder how it came to be that all of these children ended up hiding in the building next to the firing positions and storage containers of rocket launchers that make such obvious (and legitimate) targets for Israeli air strikes.

And to satisfy the most ardent conspiracy theorists out there, check out this post which brings up the possibility that dead bodies from Tyre were relocated to Qana in order to perform double-duty as the victims of Israeli aggression. Also see this post from Confederate Yankee - Caution: Graphic Photos - which has more speculation on the same subject)
So the question becomes, what would the United States do if rockets were raining into San Diego from across the border with Mexico? Well, as voiced on the Ceroc Scotland forum, America is the most hated country in the world after Israel, so the question no longer beckons a reasoned voice to ask what would the US do; Europeans don't care about Americans any more than they care about the welfare of Israelis.

After 9-11, and after ignoring the bombing of the USS Cole and American Embassies in Africa under the detestable administration of President Clinton's, the US courageously defended herself against her enemies and future attacks by going in and destroying the Taliban in Afghanistan, and then by going into Iraq to destroy the Ba'ath government responsible for funding terror and subsidizing Muslim terror training camps around the world who also paid off Palestinian families $25,000 for producing "martyrs" to kill innocent Jews in Israel.

My question is, why now do Europeans determine that all of the United State’s good works are irrelevant? How do you nullify all the lives we have made better, as if they aren’t worth ink on paper? Our country is an arena for many people to succeed where they otherwise would never have a chance, and Europeans refuse to acknowledge that. How about some intellectual honesty where you acknowledge our foundational goodness? And how about some humanity where you look at our mistakes as places where we need improvement, not excuses to denigrate us? What do you hope to accomplish by beating the US down, rather than propping us up? If we pay close attention to all the great things we have done, all the way down to the grassroots, and all that we share rather than hoard, the only logical conclusion is that there is a lot about the US that is good, and which deserves to be a fundamental part of the equation, especially in the face of such an obvious agenda to swing the pendulum in the direction of our enemies.

There is always room for improvement, but overall, yes, we are the good guys. And so are the Israelis.

In the Footsteps of Ayatollah Khomeini and the Prophet Mohammad:
Ahmadinejad Calls Upon Bush to Accept Islam By A. Savyon*

Introduction

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's letter to U.S. President George Bush, sent on May 7, 2006, emulates the letter written in 1989 by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's to then U.S.S.R. president Mikhail Gorbachev. Ahmadinejad's letter also emulates the Prophet Mohammad's epistle 1,400 years ago to the king of Ethiopia and other rulers of the world, and his call for Islam to be accepted as superior and as the correct path guiding humanity.

Ahmadinejad Aligns Himself With the Prophet Mohammad and Ayatollah Khomeini

Ahmadinejad's letter to President Bush presents a comprehensive religious and cultural world view, outlining the advantages that Islam embodies as the correct path guiding humanity. [1] In its religious content, in the presentation of his world view, and in its invitation to Islam, Ahmadinejad's letter repeats the letters by Ayatollah Khomeini and the Prophet Mohammad.

The following are excerpts from the letter sent by Ayatollah Khomeini to then U.S.S.R. president Gorbachev in 1989: [2]

"First of all, the path that would ensure your success is your revision and modification of the path of your predecessors - who distanced themselves from God and religion. This thinking has dealt a great blow to the people of the Soviet Union. You must know that there is only one way to solve the problems of the world - and that is turning to the truth. Your country's main problem is not ownership, economics, or freedom. Your main problem is the lack of true belief in God...

"Now, after discussing these preliminary problems, I wish you would seriously look into Islam - not because Islam or the Muslims need you, but because Islam can bring comfort and salvation to all people and solve the problems of all nations..."

Moreover, Ahmadinejad signed his letter to President Bush with the same Koranic verse with which the Prophet Mohammad signed his epistle to the King of Ethiopia.
During his recent visit to the Indonesian capital Jakarta, Ahmadinejad said that the letter to Bush was "an invitation to Islam." [3]

It appears that Ahmadinejad aspires to a role in Iranian-Shi'ite-Muslim history akin to the role of the Prophet Mohammad himself, or, at the very least, comparable to the status of Ayatollah Khomeini, who is considered by many Shi'ites to be the "Hidden Imam." [4]

The following are excerpts from Ahmadinejad's letter to President Bush: [5]

"...According to divine verses, we have all been called upon to worship one God and follow the teachings of divine prophets. To worship a God which is above all powers in the world and can do all He pleases...
"The Almighty God sent His prophets with miracles and clear signs to guide the people and show them divine signs and purify them from sins and pollutions. And He sent the Book and the balance so that the people display justice and avoid the rebellious...

"Divine prophets have promised: The day will come when all humans will congregate before the court of the Almighty, so that their deeds are examined. The good will be directed towards Heaven and evildoers will meet divine retribution. I trust both of us believe in such a day, but it will not be easy to calculate the actions of rulers...

"Liberalism and Western-style democracy have not been able to help realize the ideals of humanity. Today these two concepts have failed. Those with insight can already hear the sounds of the shattering and fall of the ideology and thoughts of the liberal democratic systems.

"We increasingly see that people around the world are flocking towards a main focal point - that is, the Almighty God. Undoubtedly, through faith in God and the teachings of the prophets, the people will conquer their problems. My question for you is: Do you not want to join them?

"Mr. President,

"Whether we like it or not, the world is gravitating towards faith in the Almighty and justice and the will of God will prevail over all things.

"Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran"

Ayatollah Jannati Supports Ahmadinejad and His Letter

In a May 12 Friday sermon at Tehran University, Guardian Council Secretary Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati described Ahmadinejad's letter as "divinely inspired," claiming that "the letter is a continuation of the path of Imam Khomeini." The difference between them, he said, "is that Khomeini's letter was issued from a position of leadership [Khomeini being the Supreme Leader of Iran], whereas Ahmadinejad's letter was issued from the position of president... The letter is wondrous and rare... The letter is [divinely] inspired. God desires to increase the power of our country, and thus casts His inspiration..." [6]
"Ahmadinejad is a courageous and religious man, whose words are worthy of being heeded. He [represents] the honor of Islam and of the state... Whether or not [the Americans] will respond - they will be harmed. If they respond - what can they possibly say? If they do not respond, this will betray their weakness and shame... Where else could such a letter be written, within Iran or outside it, [a letter] that amazes everyone in its form? Ahmadinejad is to be esteemed... This letter should be read to all children, it should be read out loud in schools and universities, it should be repeated in the media, and it should be included in the future in school textbooks." [7]

Jannati added that "Just as Imam [Khomeini] said to the Russians, 'Your problem is not economic, but stems from your denial of Allah,' the West too has reached a dead end... The letter shows that despite all its great pretensions, the grandeur of America is on its way to collapse and decay." [8]

Internal Criticism of the Ahmadinejad-Khomeini Equation

Conservative MP 'Emad Afrough, who has previously criticized Ahmadinejad's policies, said: [9] "This [Ahmadinejad's] letter cannot be equated to the letter of Imam [Khomeini]. The Imam wrote the letter in his capacity as the religious and moral leader... He predicted the impending fall of the Marxist regime... and offered the leaders of the Communist regime in Russia a way of salvation... Some of the president's advisors went even further and compared [Ahmadinejad's] letter to the path of the prophets..."

[4] Following his return from New York after delivering a speech to the U.N. Assembly in September 2005, Ahmadinejad told several ayatollahs in Tehran that an aura enveloped him and that he sensed that the message of the "Hidden Imam" was reaching those who attended his speech. He made other statements about the impending arrival of the "Hidden Imam" on several occasions.

Iran Moves to Stop "Immoral Behavior"

From the "What a Joke" department, via Der Spiegel.
Iran's feared moral police, founded by Islamic revolution leader Ayatollah Khomeini, are to be strengthened with 50 more patrol groups.

They will be equipped with police cars from Germany that should allow the mullahs to monitor "un-Islamic behavior" more closely.

Women that show too much hair peeking from their headscarf or wear figure-defining clothing face a fine of around 300 euros - roughly a month's salary for a teacher - or ten days in jail.

Taxi drivers that pick up such fashion sinners also face punishment.

The expanded patrols are also to crack down on pop music in public, and dog owners will be banned from walking their pets in city parks.
How blessed are those of us who were born in free and democratic countries like Israel and the United States.

Everyone Is Afraid to Criticize Islam

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the Dutch politician forced to go into hiding after the murder of filmmaker Theo van Gogh, responds to the Danish cartoon scandal, arguing that if Europe doesn't stand up to extremists, a culture of self-censorship of criticism of Islam that pervades in Holland will spread in Europe.

Auf Wiedersehen, free speech.

An excerpt from DER SPIEGEL February 6, 2006:
SPIEGEL: Hirsi Ali, you have called the Prophet Muhammad a tyrant and a pervert. Theo van Gogh, the director of your film "Submission," which is critical of Islam, was murdered by Islamists. You yourself are under police protection. Can you understand how the Danish cartoonists feel at this point?

Hirsi Ali: They probably feel numb. On the one hand, a voice in their heads is encouraging them not to sell out their freedom of speech. At the same time, they're experiencing the shocking sensation of what it's like to lose your own personal freedom. One mustn't forget that they're part of the postwar generation, and that all they've experienced is peace and prosperity. And now they suddenly have to fight for their own human rights once again.

SPIEGEL: Why have the protests escalated to such an extent?

Hirsi Ali: There is no freedom of speech in those Arab countries where the demonstrations and public outrage are being staged. The reason many people flee to Europe from these places is precisely because they have criticized religion, the political establishment and society. Totalitarian Islamic regimes are in a deep crisis. Globalization means that they're exposed to considerable change, and they also fear the reformist forces developing among émigrés in the West. They'll use threatening gestures against the West, and the success they achieve with their threats, to intimidate these people.

SPIEGEL: Was apologizing for the cartoons the wrong thing to do?

Hirsi Ali: Once again, the West pursued the principle of turning first one cheek, then the other. In fact, it's already a tradition. In 1980, privately owned British broadcaster ITV aired a documentary about the stoning of a Saudi Arabian princess who had allegedly committed adultery. The government in Riyadh intervened and the British government issued an apology. We saw the same kowtowing response in 1987 when (Dutch comedian) Rudi Carrell derided (Iranian revolutionary leader) Ayatollah Khomeini in a comedy skit (that was aired on German television). In 2000, a play about the youngest wife of the Prophet Mohammed, titled "Aisha," was cancelled before it ever opened in Rotterdam. Then there was the van Gogh murder and now the cartoons. We are constantly apologizing, and we don't notice how much abuse we're taking. Meanwhile, the other side doesn't give an inch.

Who is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

Folks, who is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

He is the little-known, ultra-conservative Muslim Jew-hating mayor of Tehran.

This is what the bearded schmuck looks like.

Here is the transcript of the speech by Iranian President Ahmadinejad at the “World Without Zionism” conference in Tehran, on October 26, 2005.

Here is a picture of the Muslim demon, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Notice the words on the placard on the podium that Ahmadinejad stands behind.

Here is the the biography of the demon Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:
Born in the desert town of Garmsar, east of Tehran, in 1956, Ahmadinejad was the fourth child of a working class family with seven children. His father, who was a blacksmith, moved the family to Tehran when Ahmadinejad was barely a year old. He was brought up in the rough neighbourhoods of south Tehran, where a cocktail of poverty, frustration and xenophobia in the heydays of the Shah’s elitist regime provided fertile grounds for the rise of Islamic fundamentalism.

Student activists in Elm-o Sanaat University at the time of the Iranian revolution were dominated by ultra-conservative Islamic fundamentalists. Ahmadinejad soon became one of their leaders and founded the Islamic Students Association in that university after the fall of the Shah’s regime.

In 1979, he became the representative of Elm-o Sanaat students in the Office for Strengthening of Unity Between Universities and Theological Seminaries, which later became known as the OSU. The OSU was set up by Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti, who was at the time Khomeini’s top confidant and a key figure in the clerical leadership. Beheshti wanted the OSU to organise Islamist students to counter the rapidly rising influence of the opposition Mojahedin-e Khalq (MeK) among university students.

The OSU played a central role in the seizure of the United States embassy in Tehran in November 1979. Members of the OSU central council, who included Ahmadinejad as well as Ibrahim Asgharzadeh, Mohsen (Mahmoud) Mirdamadi, Mohsen Kadivar, Mohsen Aghajari, and Abbas Abdi, were regularly received by Khomeini himself.

According to other OSU officials, when the idea of storming the U.S. embassy in Tehran was raised in the OSU central committee by Mirdamadi and Abdi, Ahmadinejad suggested storming the Soviet embassy at the same time. A decade later, most OSU leaders re-grouped around Khatami but Ahmadinejad remained loyal to the ultra-conservatives.

During the crackdown on universities in 1980, which Khomeini called the “Islamic Cultural Revolution”, Ahmadinejad and the OSU played a critical role in purging dissident lecturers and students many of whom were arrested and later executed. Universities remained closed for three years and Ahmadinejad joined the Revolutionary Guards.

In the early 1980s, Ahmadinejad worked in the “Internal Security” department of the IRGC and earned notoriety as a ruthless interrogator and torturer. According to the state-run website Baztab, allies of outgoing President Mohammad Khatami have revealed that Ahmadinejad worked for some time as an executioner in the notorious Evin Prison, where thousands of political prisoners were executed in the bloody purges of the 1980s.

In 1986, Ahmadinejad became a senior officer in the Special Brigade of the Revolutionary Guards and was stationed in Ramazan Garrison near Kermanshah in western Iran. Ramazan Garrison was the headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards’ “extra-territorial operations”, a euphemism for terrorist attacks beyond Iran’s borders.

In Kermanshah, Ahmadinejad became involved in the clerical regime’s terrorist operations abroad and led many “extra-territorial operations of the IRGC”. With the formation of the elite Qods (Jerusalem) Force of the IRGC, Ahmadinejad became one of its senior commanders. He was the mastermind of a series of assassinations in the Middle East and Europe, including the assassination of Iranian Kurdish leader Abdorrahman Qassemlou, who was shot dead by senior officers of the Revolutionary Guards in a Vienna flat in July 1989. Ahmadinejad was a key planner of the attack, according to sources in the Revolutionary Guards.

Ahmadinejad served for four years as the governor of the towns of Maku and Khoy in northwestern Iran. In 1993, he was appointed by Minister of Islamic Culture and Guidance Ali Larijani, a fellow officer of the Revolutionary Guards, as his cultural adviser. Months later, he was appointed as the governor of the newly-created Ardebil Province.

In 1997, the newly-installed Khatami administration removed Ahmadinejad from his post and he returned to Elm-o Sanaat University to teach, but his principal activity was to organize Ansar-e Hezbollah, a radical gang of violent Islamic vigilantes.

Since becoming mayor of Tehran in April 2003, Ahmadinejad has been using his position to build up a strong network of radical Islamic fundamentalists organised as “Abadgaran-e Iran-e Islami” (literally, Developers of an Islamic Iran). Working in close conjunction with the Revolutionary Guard’s, Abadgaran was able to win the municipal elections in 2003 and the parliamentary election in 2004. They owed their victories as much to low turnouts and general disillusionment with the “moderate” faction of the regime as to their well-oiled political and military machinery.

Abadgaran bills itself as a group of young neo-Islamic fundamentalists who want to revive the ideals and policies of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khomeini. It was one of several ultra-conservative groups that were setup on the orders of Ayatollah Khamenei in order to defeat outgoing President Mohammad Khatami’s faction after the parliamentary elections in February 2000.

Ahmadinejad’s record is typical of the men chosen by Khamenei’s entourage to put a new face on the clerical elite’s ultra-conservative identity. But beyond the shallow façade, few doubt that the Islamic Republic under its new President will move with greater speed and determination along the path of radical policies that include more human rights abuses, continuing sponsorship of terrorism, and the drive to obtain nuclear weapons.
May he know the velocity, mass, and force of a bunker buster landing on his pointed head. Amen.

CAIR's Dreams of American Sharia

Joe Kaufman reports on CAIR's dreams of American Sharia. Gd Forbid:

“Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”

This was the sentiment of Omar M. Ahmad, the Chairman of the Board of the Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR, as told at an Islamic conference held in Freemont, California, in July of 1998.

If a recent event taking place in Irving, Texas, is any indication, CAIR also hopes for an American jihad.

The event took place on Saturday, December 11, 2004. The theme was “The Unity of Muslim Ummah around the globe.” [Ummah = universal knowledge of Islam.] The affair was titled “A TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT ISLAMIC VISIONARY.” That “visionary” was none other than Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

On the flier for the event were the words “Neither east nor west,” alluding to Khomeini’s feeling of how the Soviet Union (“Lesser Satan”) in his mind was ultimately just as evil as the United States. It states, “‘Neither east nor west’ is the principal [sic.] slogan of an Islamic revolution....”

The venue was the Metroplex of Organizations of Muslims in North-Texas (MOMIN), certainly a far distance from where someone would think something like this would normally take place.

However, this actually does turn out to be the perfect location for this event, as the website of MOMIN contains: 1. photos depicting Khomeini; 2. a poem that states, “[Hollywood] films are Satanic”; 3. a link to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), which describes (on its website) the Iranian Revolution and overthrow of the Shah as a “triumph”; and 4. a link to a website featuring an entire page dedicated to Khomeini and deifying him, saying he masterminded a “divine uprising.”

In addition, the spiritual leader of MOMIN, Maulana Shamshad Haider Murtazawi, in May of 2004, had the following published in islamicdigest.net, a website that contains anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, and anti-American images and advertisements and propaganda for the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist organization.

Murtazawi wrote, “There are elements within the Shia community who have a certain dislike for the Islamic revolution, Imam Khomeini or Islamic government in Iran. Such people are usually supported by the western governments to win the hearts of the liberals within the Shia Muslim community in the West. If such elements are not flushed out, they will become a menace for our community that will mislead many more. Allah (swt) is the Guardian of the believers.”

The declarations of Omar Ahmad and Murtazawi are not unlike those made in the late 70’s, when an upsurge of anti-American, anti-Western sentiment was beginning to take hold within Iran. Led by an exiled Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the uprising, or “revolution,” was largely a violent fundamentalist response to the secular monarchy of Muhammad Reza Shah Pahlavi (a.k.a. The Shah).

As chaos broke out in the streets of Tehran, Khomeini shouted from afar “Death to America” and referred to the U.S. as the “Great Satan.” Soon the Shah, said to be an American collaborator, would be overthrown, in favor of an Islamic Republic with Khomeini as its leader.

As it turns out, people did attend this dreadful event. And one of the featured speakers was a representative from CAIR, Iyas Maleh, the President of CAIR’s Dallas-Fort Worth chapter. Maleh said of the June handover of sovereignty to Iraq: “Two years from now we’ll be saying, ‘What have we done? We’ve installed a government that the Islamic people do not see as a legitimate government.’”

…confirming that Omar M. Ahmad’s dream is still alive and well, at least within the confines of CAIR.

Khomeini in Dearborn

Last Friday, Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan, held an anti-American, anti-Israel demonstration. Protestors carried a large model of Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque and waved signs bearing slogans such as “US Hands Off Muslim Land.” But the most arresting image was of a Muslim woman carrying a large sign featuring the face of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Yes, folks, Iran's Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the same beast who held 50 Americans hostage for more than a year in Tehran and who taught Muslims that they were not responsible for their plight, it was all the fault of the West, to be rectified by war.

Welcome to America.
