Bush Offered Palestinians a State; They Said No

That's right, folks, Muslims being the ethnocentric snobs that they are, said no to a state in 1937, when Britain under the Mandate offered the Peel Commission plan. They said no in 1947, when the UN proposed the establishment of two states in the region, one Jewish, one Arab. They said no in 1948, when Israel's Proclamation of Independence invited the Palestinians to remain in their homes and become equal citizens in the new state. They said no in 1967, when Israel offered to return all the territories conquered in return for peace. They said no in 1978-9, when Israel offered the acceptance of Palestinian autonomy in exchange for peace at Camp David I. They said no in 1993, when Arafat signed the Oslo accords, promising to renounce terrorism and recognize Israel, and then declared on Jordanian television that he had taken the first step "in the 1974 plan" (which was a thinly veiled reference to the "phased plan" according to which any territorial gain was acceptable as a means toward the ultimate goal of Israel's destruction). Muslims said no to a state in 2000, at Camp David II when Israel accepted the Clinton Plan but where the Palestinians did not. Muslims said no in 2001, when Israel's PM Ehud Barak offered Yasser Arafat eastern Jerusalem, 97% of the "West Bank" and 3% compensation from Israel's territory, in addition to all of Gaza (the Taba Negotiation).

Arafat - the pig born in Egypt - turned down a state without so much as a counteroffer.

Now the rest of us say to the irrational backwards Arabs: choke on your fetid choices, you racist pigs. You deserve NO state, having fabricated your origins, having Jewish blood on your hands, you deserve nothing. From Bush Offered Palestinians a State; They Said No:
Six years ago, on June 24, 2002, President Bush announced that the U.S. would support the creation of a Palestinian state. His only condition was that Palestinians first choose "leaders not compromised by terror." He asked also that they "confront corruption," and "build a practicing democracy based on tolerance and liberty."

In 2006, elections were held in Gaza and the West Bank. Hamas, a terrorist organization, declared itself a political party and won. In 2007, Hamas launched a wave of violence against rival Fatah security forces. Since then, Hamas has been unchallenged in Gaza and no one talks of new elections or civil rights.
Nor has Hamas attempted to build an economic base. Instead, it turned to Iran's rulers for money and guidance - and then complained that Palestinians were living in squalor because they weren't receiving sufficient funds from the U.S. and Europe.

Hamas rains missiles on Israeli towns, sends terrorists into Israel on killing and kidnapping missions, and assigns suicide-bombers to blow up the few border crossings with Israel. Then Hamas complains that Israel is not delivering as much food, medicine, gasoline, and electricity as Palestinians require.
President Bush believed that Palestinians wanted a state to call their own - and that they wanted that more than they wanted the destruction of the Jewish state next door. In 2002 Bush said: "If liberty can blossom in the rocky soil of the West Bank and Gaza, it will inspire millions of men and women around the globe....This moment is...a test to show who is serious about peace and who is not."

He was right. It was a test. And now it's time to be candid about the results. Israelis, Americans, and Europeans are serious about peace. The enemies of Israelis, Americans, and European are serious about defeating Israelis, Americans, and Europeans.

Palestinian exhibit depicts children in crematorium

More mendacity from Islam, the keeper of falsehoods, revisionism, terror and bloodlust. From PMW:
Palestinian children in Gaza were gathered for an exhibition that depicts Israel burning children in a crematorium. Young children are seen standing beside dolls being placed into a model of a cremation oven.

According to the article in Al Ayyam, "The National Committee for defense of Children from the Holocaust opened its activities with a Holocaust exhibit. The Exhibit include a large oven and inside it small children are being burned, the picture speaks for itself." [Al Ayyam, March 20, 2008]

Another part of the exhibit was a black platform with the words, "Stop the Israel's Holocausts." [Al Hayat Al Jadida, March 20, 2008]

Palestinian Authority (Fatah) TV already already taught children in the past that Israel burned children in the Holocaust. With ovens pictured in the background and actors playing dead children as part of a musical play, an actor in a video declared:

"They [Israel] are the ones who did the Holocaust ... They opened the ovens for us to bake human beings... and when one oven stopped burning they lit a hundred more ovens." [PA TV March 25, 2004]

The 'Two Jerusalems' Myth

To return the “Arab neighborhoods” of Jerusalem to Arab/Muslim control would mark the beginning of the end of Israel and its raison d’etre for existing as a nation state. Received by email. From The 'Two Jerusalems" Myth:
Palestinians have nurtured a myth that historically there were two Jerusalems - an Arab 'East Jerusalem' and a Jewish 'West Jerusalem.'

Jerusalem was never an Arab city; Jews have held a majority in Jerusalem since 1870, and 'east-west' is a geographic, not political designation. It is no different than claiming Annapolis, the capital of Maryland, should be a separate political entity from the rest of that state.

In 1880, Jews constituted 52 percent of the Old City population in 'East Jerusalem' and were still inhabiting 42 percent of the Old City in 1914. In 1948, there were 100,000 Jews in Jerusalem, with 60,000 Arabs. A joint Jordanian-Israeli census reported that 67.7 percent of the city's population in 1961 was Jewish. A 1967 aerial photo reveals the truth about the area called 'East Jerusalem': it was no more than an overcrowded walled city with a few scattered neighborhoods surrounded by villages. Prior to unification, Jordanian-controlled 'East Jerusalem' was a mere 6 square kilometers, compared to 38 square kilometers on the Jewish side.

Although uniting the city transformed all of Jerusalem into the largest city in Israel and a bustling metropolis, even moderate Palestinian leaders reject the idea of a united city. Their minimal demand for 'just East Jerusalem' really means the Jewish holy sites (including the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall), which Arabs have failed to protect, and the return of neighborhoods that house a significant percentage of Jerusalem's present-day Jewish population. Most of that city is built on rock-strewn empty land around the city that was in the public domain for the past 40 years. With an overall population of 730,000 today, separating 'East Jerusalem' and 'West Jerusalem' is as viable and acceptable as the notion of splitting Berlin into two cities again, or separating East Harlem from the rest of Manhattan.

Palestinian Pretense and Israeli Reality

An excellent introduction to the differences in perception between the Israelis and their Arab neighbors is an article by Victor David Hanson in the National Review. It is called Palestinian Pretense and Israeli Reality. You'll find it at:

http://www.nationalreview.com/hanson/hanson031802.shtml

If you believe what you hear on the news and media, you would think there is an entity called a Palestinian people, who lived in a country/state/area called Palestine since Canaanite/Biblical/Mohammadan times. The Israelis occupied Palestine in 1967. The Palestinians want the occupiers out of their land. And of course they are entitled to do whatever it takes to get their land back. No? No.

Here's the facts.

Who are the Palestinians? Palestinians are Arabs. They have no historical, national or cultural identity distinct from other Arabs of the region. Most of them came into Palestine in search of economic opportunities after World War 1 when the British and the Jews began to build up a land that was moribund.

What is Palestine? When the Romans conquered Judea, they renamed it Palestine. Since then, no occupying power ever made it an independent state or established a capital in Jerusalem. Under the Ottoman Empire, it was part of the province of Syria.

After World War I, the area was mandated to Britain to establish a Jewish national home. Instead, in 1922, Britain split off 75% of Palestine to establish the Emirate of Transjordan, as a throne for the Arabian Hashemite family.

The UN decided to split the rest of Palestine between Jews and Arabs. In 1948, Arab armies and volunteers - from Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Morocco - attacked the newborn State of Israel. Transjordan annexed the area intended for an Arab state, and renamed itself the Kingdom of Jordan, calling the annexed area the "West Bank". Egypt took over Gaza. No Arab suggested making the West Bank and/or Gaza into yet another Arab state until 1967, when Israel was again attacked by the Arabs and took these areas.

Whether or not she chooses to exercise the right, Israel owns the West Bank by right of conquest. She also has unassailable biblical, historical and residential claims. The Mandate to develop a Jewish state in ALL of Palestine is still in force; and the U.N. -- the legal heir to the League of Nations -- is legally obligated to help the Jews. Before 1967, the last previous legal owner was the Ottoman Empire. And Turkey, heir to the Ottomans, has never asked for it back.

Nous accusons!

Excerpted from Melanie Phillips:
Tomorrow, [Update: legal argument took place on September 12 while the full hearing is now scheduled to start on September 19, 2007. ] an appeal starts in Paris in a case which encapsulates all that is most rotten and murderous about the media war against Israel and its truly monstrous consequences. At the beginning of the second intifada, an event occurred which more than any other was to incite mass hysteria against Israel, lead directly to the terrorist murder of Jews and whip up demonstrations and incitement against Israel and the west throughout the Arab and Muslim world. On September 30, 2000 viewers around the world watched a short news clip screened by the TV station France 2 which appeared to show the killing by the Israel Defence Force of a Palestinian boy, Muhammad al-Dura, at Netzarim junction in Gaza. The boy was shown crouching with his father behind a barrel next to a concrete wall in an apparently vain attempt to shelter from the gun-battle between Israel and the Palestinians that was raging around them. In his commentary on the incident France 2's Israel correspondent, Charles Enderlin, declared that the IDF had killed the boy.

This footage become the iconic image of the intifada and the Palestinian 'struggle' against Israel. It served to incite terrorist violence and atrocities as well as inflaming hatred of Israel around the world. It was used in Palestinian educational materials to incite other children to turn themselves into human bombs. It was used repeatedly in al Qaeda's videotape of the beheading of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002. Itwas used to whip Iraqi Republican Guards into a frenzy before the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. And most stomach-churning of all, it was invoked by the Palestinian mob in Ramallah that lynched IDF reservists YosefAvrahami and Vadim Novesche, who had taken a wrong turning, two weeks after the alleged al Durah killing.

The consequences of their fatal error are well known: they were tortured and beaten to death in the Palestinian Authority police station, and their lifeless bodies thrown out of the station's second story window to a throngof men howling, Allahu Akbar -God is great! They commenced to dismember and disembowel the soldiers' corpses, and then passed the entrails on a platter to a hysterical mob numbering in the thousands who rejoiced as they literally chewed and swallowed the remains of their hated Jews. What is lesser known is that while eating the flesh and blood of their victims, in satisfaction and triumph, the good citizens of Ramallah chanted, not only, Allahu-Akbar- but the name of Mohamed al Durah!But it quickly became apparent that the IDF could not have killed al Durah. Initially, the Israeli government had taken responsibility for his death, but it later concluded that the whole thing was a fraud because it wasphysically impossible for the IDF to have shot at the al Duras from their position that day at the Netzarim junction. Several other independent commentators came to the same conclusion, including extensive investigations by the French-language Israeli news agency MENA, a German television documentary film by Esther Schapira called Three Bullets and a Dead Child: Who Shot Muhammad al-Dura? and the Atlantic Monthly; while Richard Landes, a Boston University historian, who has claimed on his blog, Augean Stables, his website, The Second Draft, and in three films-Pallywood, The Birth of an Icon, and Icon of Hatred-that the al Dura 'killing' was staged.

On November 24, 2004, Philippe Karsenty, founder of the French online media watchdog, Media Ratings, sent out an email to his subscribers in which he accused the France 2 television network of staging the al Durah 'killing'. He called for the resignation of both Charles Enderlin and France 2's News Director, Arlette Chabot, for their role in promulgating the alleged hoax. France 2 and Enderlin sued Karsenty for defamation, and won. Tomorrow sees the opening of Karsenty's appeal. The behaviour to date of both the French judges and France 2 has been simply outrageous.

The footage in question was filmed by a Palestinian cameraman, Talal abu Rahma. France 2 is holding 27 minutes of raw footage of his film which it refuses to release. Independent investigators have repeatedly asked it to do so. It refuses point blank. Why? Since transmitted parts of this footage, why does it refuse to release the rest of it? The most likely reason is that the unscreened footage proves that the 'killing' was indeed nothing of the kind.

New York Times' parallel universe

From WND:
"Palestinians never used to do these things to one another."

That was the first sentence of a New York Times Magazine story by the newspaper's Jerusalem bureau chief, Steven Erlanger.

What are the things Palestinians are doing to one another today that they didn't do before?

putting bullets in the back of the heads of men on their knees;

shooting up hospitals;

killing patients;

knee-capping doctors;

executing clerics;

throwing handcuffed prisoners to their deaths from Gaza's highest apartment buildings;

Is it naivete? Plain ignorance and incompetence? Deliberate disinformation? Partisanship with radical Islamists? Anti-Israeli zealotry? Anti-western pseudo-intellectual ism?

What would possess a New York Times reporter - hardly a newcomer to the Middle East - to lie about the history of "Palestinian" Arabs, who have actually been murdering each other since they adopted the term "Palestinian" as their own identity in the 1960s?

Of course they have been killing and maiming each other. Long before anyone heard of Hamas, the Palestinian Arab movement was stratified into dozens of organizations and political parties and sub-groups. They always killed and tortured and mutilated one another.

And they killed, tortured and mutilated innocent Palestinian Arab civilians who wanted no part of their politics of death. They hanged innocent Christians in the public square following kangaroo trials that would condemn them as Israeli collaborators.

This fratricide has been going on for 40 years. Where have Steven Erlanger and the New York Times been?

Perhaps they have been too busy documenting alleged horrors and atrocities by Israelis. Perhaps it has truly taken this long for them to understand their fantasies about a two-state solution are just that - fantasies.

Erlanger truly seems like a man coming face to face with reality for the first time in his life.

"Gaza today is so far from the hopes of people like James Wolfensohn - the former World Bank president who tried to coordinate economic redevelopment of the 140-square-mile territory between Israel and Egypt after the Israelis withdrew nearly two years ago - as to seem like the other side of the earth," he writes.

Had Erlanger truly placed his hopes for Gaza in the hands of the World Bank? Amazing!

There were many of us two years ago warning exactly what was to become of Gaza following the withdrawal of Israel. It was so predictable! Erlanger, on the other hand, is shocked. Yet he is still the correspondent the New York Times chooses to tell the world what's really happening in the Middle East.

"Rather than a model for a future Palestinian state, Gaza looks like Somalia: broken and ravenous. The civil war that Palestinians insisted could never happen just has, a civil war abetted by Israel and the United States in the name of antiterrorism and stability - another policy that has failed, at least here, where a burning smell still fills the nostrils and where a masked Hamas gunman with an AK-47 recently sat at the abandoned desk of the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, lifted up the phone and said: 'Hello, Condoleezza Rice? You have me to deal with now.'"

Notice how this civil war is the fault of Israel and the U.S., according to the New York Times. How? Such details must apparently remain unspoken.

But here's the punch line from the newspaper of record. Despite everything Erlanger has reported about deteriorating conditions in Gaza, this place that was to become one of the wonders of the world thanks to his friends at the World Bank, he remains the optimist when it comes to his friends in Hamastan.

"But the military victory of Hamas may also bring a welcome measure of quiet and security to the 1.5 million people of Gaza, nearly 70 percent of them refugees, who have been living a nightmare of criminal gangs, street-corner vendettas, clan warfare, absent police, corrupt officials, religious incitement and unremitting poverty."

Wait a minute! I thought Palestinians didn't kill each other? Now we find out this has been the life 1.5 million Gazans have known for some time?

And look who is going to save the day - the homicidal maniacs of Hamas!

Princeton Economist Says Lack of Civil Liberties, Not Poverty, Breeds Terrorism

From Princeton Economist Says Lack of Civil Liberties, Not Poverty, Breeds Terrorism:
"Each time we have one of these attacks and the backgrounds of the attackers are revealed, this should put to rest the myth that terrorists are attacking us because they are desperately poor," says Princeton economist Alan Krueger. "But this misconception doesn't die." "As a group, terrorists are better educated and from wealthier families." The Sept. 11 attackers were relatively well-off men from a rich country, Saudi Arabia. Examining 781 terrorist events classified by the U.S. State Department as "significant" reveals terrorists tend to come from countries distinguished by political oppression, not poverty or inequality. The conventional wisdom that poverty breeds terrorism is backed by surprisingly little hard evidence. The 9/11 Commission stated flatly: Terrorism is not caused by poverty.

Five Muslim doctors hatched terror plot in British hospitals

This heinous plot proves several points about Islam and Islamic terror:

-- that the lives of non-Muslims are not esteemed nor valued by Muslims,
-- that the Hippocratic oath is meaningless to Muslim doctors and waiving an oath and violating another's trust is just a walk in the park,
-- that it is a myth that terrorism is a result of poverty and lack of education, and,
-- that it is a myth that Muslims and Jews worship the same god because clearly Jews sanctify life and clearly, Muslims sanctify death. From Terror plot hatched in British hospitals:

A suspected secret cell of foreign militants, believed to be linked to al-Qa'ida and using British hospitals as cover, are being questioned over the terrorist attacks in London and Glasgow.

Five of the eight people under arrest last night are said to be doctors. Another of those detained is the wife of one of the doctors, who is a medical assistant working for the NHS. The home of a sixth doctor is said to have been searched by police. Late last night an Australian television network reported that a suspect wanted in connection with the attacks had been arrested in Brisbane.

Israeli settlements are not a violation of international law

An Israeli plan to construct 30 new homes in Maskiot in the Jordan Valley for families evacuated from uprooted Gaza Strip settlements has been questioned by the U.S. State Department. But David Siegel, spokesman for the Israeli Embassy in Washington, said "the settlement is not a new one." It was legally established in 1982, housed an army unit and a school, and has had civilians living there for several years. The plan is to build within the confines of the existing settlement, he said.

Aha. "Settlements". A buzzword and part of the Palestinian terminology manufactured by the PLO to make you despise Israel.

What do you really know about "settlements" anyway?

Well, folks, contrary to what you have been spoonfed, settlements are not a violation of international law.

Settlements, Jewish communities that were established in the West Bank and Gaza Strip after the territories were gained in the 1967 War, do not violate international law.

Israel’s administration of the territory in 1967 replaced Jordan’s control of the West Bank and Egypt’s of the Gaza Strip.

I repeat: Jordan and Egypt were the occupying nations of territories that never belonged to a sovereign nation.

Egypt and Jordan gained control of these areas during the 1948 War with the newly - established legitimate and soveregin nation of Israel, which according to the 1947 U.N. Partition Plan, were to be part of the independent Arab state to be established alongside an independent Jewish state (a plan rejected by Arab nations and Palestinian leadership).

Neither Jordan nor Egypt had legal sovereignty over these areas. (Note: there was never any Muslim outrage when Jordan and Egypt occupied those areas, from 1948 to 1967, a total of 19 years, but that's another story, to be filed under Muslims Who Hate Jews Politically Identify With Other Muslims Who Hate Jews.)

These areas can thus not be considered "occupied territories" under international law, since Israel did not "occupy" them from another sovereign nation, but are "disputed territories" over which there are competing claims, and whose future must be determined through negotiations. Since 1967, Israeli governments have maintained a willingness to withdraw from areas of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in a peace agreement with the Arabs.

Critics of Israel frequently cite Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits the forcible transfer of segments of a population of a state to the territory of another state which it has occupied through the use of armed force, as proof of the illegality of settlements.

The Geneva Convention, drafted after World War II, was intended to protect local populations from displacement, such as the forced population transfers experienced before and during the war in Czechoslovakia, Poland and Hungary.

The situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip is clearly different. Israel has not forcibly transferred Israelis to these areas. Rather, Israelis voluntarily are returning to areas where Jews have historically dwelled.

Jews have lived in the West Bank and Gaza Strip throughout recorded history, until 1948 when they were forced to flee the invading Arab armies.

Indeed, several of the current settlement communities existed prior to 1948 when they where overrun by invading Arab armies. Kfar Etzion and other villages in the Jerusalem-Bethlehem corridor, for example, fell to Arab forces in May 1948 and those captured were massacred.

Sons and daughters of those who lived there until 1948 were the first to return after the 1967 war.

PA Daily admits Arab leaders caused the refugee problem (to KEEP IN YOUR FILES)

In case you didn't see this historically significant article published earlier this week, this article is a critical addition to your talking points. Please take note:

PA Daily: Arab leaders caused the refugee problem

PA columnist: Arab leaders initiated departure and made false promises of a speedy return by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook- Dec. 17, 2006

PMW has documented yet another corroboration in the official Palestinian Authority (PA) paper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida that it was Arab leaders who were responsible for the flight of Arabs from the new State of Israel in 1948.

A backbone of PA ideology, and indeed of anti-Israel propagandists worldwide, is the myth that Israel expelled hundreds of thousands of Arabs from Israel and created the Palestinian "refugee" situation.

However, a regular writer for the official PA paper, Mahmud Al-Habbash, writes in a recent column that in 1948 the Arabs left their homes willingly under the instruction of their own Arab leaders and their false promises of a prompt return. He refers to these promises as “Arkuvian,” after Arkuv – a figure from Arab tradition - who was known for breaking his promises and for his lies – and states that the Arabs who left their homes, and became refugees did so believing their leaders’ deceptive promises. He places the blame and the responsibility on the shoulders of the Arab leaders and does not mention any so-called "Israeli expulsion."

Following is this most recent article, as well as earlier statements by Arab "refugees" that have appeared in the PA press, all of which corroborate Israel's historical narrative. The latter two testimonials are significant because they were corroborated by still other more public Palestinians, indicating that the responsibility of the Arab leaders is known in the Palestinian world. One was confirmed by Arab Member of Knesset, Ibraham Sarsur, who was then Head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, and the other by a Palestinian journalist, Fuad Abu Higla, in the official PA daily.

The following are four statements corroborating that Arabs fled Israel under the instruction and the encouragement of Arab leaders:

1. Journalist writing about the events of 1948

Mahmud Al-Habbash, a regular writer in the official PA paper, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, indicates in his column “The Pulse of Life” that the Arabs left Israel in 1948 only after political Arab leaders persuaded them to do so by promising the Arabs a speedy return to their homes in Palestine:

“…The leaders and the elites promised us at the beginning of the “Catastrophe” [[the establishment of Israel and the creation of refugee problem] in 1948, that the duration of the exile will not be long, and that it will not last more than a few days or months, and afterwards the refugees will return to their homes, which most of them did not leave only until they put their trust in those “Arkuvian” promises made by the leaders and the political elites. Afterwards, days passed, months, years and decades, and the promises were lost with the strain of the succession of events…" [Term "Arkuvian,” is after Arkuv – a figure from Arab tradition - who was known for breaking his promises and for his lies."] ” [Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, December 13, 2006]

2. Woman who fled Israel in 1948

"We heard sounds of explosions and of gunfire at the beginning of the summer in the year of the “Catastrophe” [The establishment of Israel and the expulsion from the land in 1948]. They told us: The Jews attacked our region and it is better to evacuate the village and return, after the battle is over. And indeed there were among us [who fled Israel] those who left a fire burning under the pot, those who left their flock [of sheep] and those who left their money and gold behind, based on the assumption that we would return after a few hours." [Asmaa Jabir Balasimah Um Hasan, Woman who fled Israel, Al-Ayyam, May 16, 2006]

3. Son and grandson of those who fled in 1948

An Arab viewer called Palestinian Authority TV and quoted his father and grandfather, complaining that in 1948 the Arab District Officer ordered all Arabs to leave Palestine or be labeled traitors. In response, Arab MK Ibrahim Sarsur, then Head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, cursed the leaders who ordered Arabs to leave, thus, acknowledging Israel's assertion.

Statement of son and grandson of man who fled:

"Mr. Ibrahim [Sarsur]. I address you as a Muslim. My father and grandfather told me that during the "Catastrophe" [establishment of Israel in 1948 and the expulsion from the land], our district officer issued an order that whoever stays in Palestine and in Majdel [near Ashkelon – Southern Israel] is a traitor, he is a traitor."

Response from Ibrahim Sarsur, Head of the Islamic Movement in Israel:

"The one who gave the order forbidding them to stay there bears guilt for this, in this life and the Afterlife throughout history until Resurrection Day." [PA TV April 30, 1999]

4. Article by senior PA journalist

Fuad Abu Higla, then a regular columnist in the official PA daily Al Hayat Al Jadida, wrote an article before an Arab Summit, which criticized the Arab leaders for a series of failures. One of the failures he cited, in the name of a prisoner, was that an earlier generation of Arab leaders "forced" them to leave Israel in 1948, again placing the blame for the flight on the Arab leaders.

"I have received a letter from a prisoner in Acre prison, to the Arab summit:

To the [Arab and Muslim] Kings and Presidents, Poverty is killing us, the symptoms are exhausting us and the souls are leaving our body, yet you are still searching for the way to provide aid, like one who is looking for a needle in a haystack or like the armies of your predecessors in the year of 1948, who forced us to leave [Israel], on the pretext of clearing the battlefields of civilians... So what will your summit do now?" [Al-Hayat Al-Jadidah, March 19, 2001]

Conclusion

It is clear from these statements that there is general acknowledgement among Palestinians that Arab leaders bear responsibility for the mass flight of Arabs from Israel in 1948, and were the cause of the "refugee" problem. Furthermore, the fact that this information has been validated by public figures and the media in the Palestinian Authority confirms that this responsibility is well-known – even though, for propaganda purposes, its leaders continue to blame Israel publicly for "the expulsion."

The Big Lie About the Middle East: Arab Nations Don't Care about the Palestinians

From The Big Lie About the Middle East: Arab Nations Don't Care about the Palestinians:

No sensible person is against peacemaking in the Holy Land. But in lumping the Iraq mess in with the Palestinian problem - and suggesting the first could not be fixed unless the second was too - the Baker-Hamilton commission lent credibility to a corrosive myth: that the fundamental problem in the Arab world is the plight of the Palestinians.

It is a falsehood perpetuated not just by the likes of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden, who came late to the slogan after their actual beefs -Saddam with his neighbors; bin Laden with the Saudi royals - gained insufficient traction in the Arab world. The mantra is also repeated in parts of the State Department, in various think tanks, by editorial writers and Sunday talk-show hosts.

But the pan-Arabism that once made the Palestinian cause the region's cause is long dead. In a decade of reporting in the region, I found it rarely took more than the arching of an eyebrow to get the most candid of Arab thinkers to acknowledge that the tears shed for the Palestinians today outside the West Bank and Gaza are of the crocodile variety. Palestinians know this best of all.

To promote the canard that the troubles of the Arab world are rooted in the Palestinians' misfortune does great harm. It encourages the Arabs to continue to avoid addressing their colossal societal and political ills by hiding behind their Great Excuse: it's all Israel's fault.

One might argue that if the Arab dictators were deprived of the Great Excuse, they might begin to rule with greater concern for their constituents' needs. But why should they be allowed to wait - in the meantime cynically selling their people the Israel Myth - especially since the wait is apt to be long?

The Baker commission report's airy prescription for frog-marching Israelis and Palestinians into new peace talks perpetuates another persistent fiction: that U.S. involvement is the key to a breakthrough. That contradicts the real-life story of all three of the major peace agreements Israel has signed, with the Egyptians, Palestinians, and Jordanians. Each was the result of bold initiatives not by Washington but by local leaders, when conditions were ripe. In all three cases, the accords were the product of negotiations begun in secret behind the backs of the Americans.

"Palestinians" may rename towns after Arafat and Yassin

Palestinians are planning to rename the settlements in the Gaza Strip "to erase any memory" of Israel's presence in the area.

How Muslim of them. Muslims have, historically, destroyed non-Muslim culture anytime that they have conquered one. This is what Muslims are currently doing on the Temple Mount, Saudi Muslims are routinely shredding Bibles, Muslims have no hesitation in destroying Jewish cemeteries -- after 1949, the Jordanians used Jewish headstones for latrines, Muslims destroyed the great Buddhist statues in Afghanistan, the list goes on. Destruction of other people's cutures is their foul-stenched trademark.

Folks, if Muslims were to leave the artifacts, archaeology, and buildings and statues, gardens and libraries of other cultures intact, they would be reminded of their own failure in contributing anything positive to civilization. Let's face it, Muslim Arabs stopped contributing to the world several hundred years ago.

Here are some examples of feats that Muslims take credit for, but some research I did proved otherwise:

The common system of number notation in use in most parts of the world today is the Arabic system. Muslims always claim this as a one of their great contributions. The fact is however, this system was first developed by the Hindus and was in use in India in the 3rd century BC. Pope Sylvester is credited with introducing this system to the west, not Muslims.

Muslims also claim that Algebra (an Arabic name) was indeed devised and developed by an Arab. The truth is the history of algebra began in ancient Egypt and Babylon. The Alexandrian mathematicians Hero of Alexandria and Diophantus continued the traditions of Egypt and Babylon, but Diophantus's book Arithmetica is credited.

Muslims claim that Arabs used the Greek ideas of Geometry and introduced Trigonometry. The names of 'Cosine,' 'Algorithm,' and 'tangent' were derived from Arab names. However, the world uses Greek symbols such as Theta, Beta, Alpha, and Omega. Ancient Greek mathematicians include Euclid, Pythagorus, and Archimedes and they are the authors of most mathematical theorums that the Arab mathematicians could only ponder.

Muslims claim that almost half the stars you see in the skies above you were discovered by Arabs. Achernar, Arcturus, Deneb, Fomelhaut, Altair, Aldebaran, Mizar, Cappella, Rigel, etc. The fact is the twelve zodiacal signs for the constellations were named by the 2nd century astronomer, Ptolemy. Most of his life he lived and worked in Alexandria. At a time when Egypt was ruled by Romans, Alexandria was the center of widespread Greek culture, and we know that Ptolemy wrote his works in Greek. Since his first name was Claudius, it is believed that he was of Roman background.

Muslims claim that the prototype of the watch (the astrolabe) was an Arab Muslim invention. At perhaps the same time as Ptolemy, however, Indian astronomers had developed a trigonometric system based on the sine function. Late in the 8th century, Muslim astronomers inherited both the Greek and the Indian traditions, but they seem to have preferred the sine function. Based on this theory, the astrolabe, needing sine parameters, was improved, but it was not invented by Muslims.

Muslims claim that they are the founders of modern Chemistry (Alchemy). They started by trying to turn rocks into gold, but realized that they can separate elements instead. The fact is the first culture to consider these ideas scientifically was that of the Greeks. From the time of Thales, about 600 BC, Greek philosophers were making logical speculations about the physical world rather than relying on myth to explain phenomena. Since Muhammed wasn't born until 570 AD, there were no Muslims yet and therefore, can not take credit for the discovery of dyes, pottery, glazes and glass, which are separated elements.

Arab Muslims celebrated and preserved all the works of Archamedes, Ptolemy, and many other Greek scientists or phillosophers. But when the Muslims burned down the Library at Alexandria, which included the works of non-Muslim scholars, they ensured the loss of all evidence that could prove that other cultures existed before theirs.

Arabs claim they diagnosed and treated small pox, black pox, and meningitis. This was in the first pharmacy clinic in Baghdad. But leprosy, small pox, and other maladies were already described in the book of Leviticus in the Torah, the One and Only Holy Book of the Lord, Gd HaShem, Blessed Be His Name.

Muslims claim that they built the first observatory as a scientific institution in the 11th century. The earliest known astronomical observatories were built by the Chinese and the Babylonians about 2300 BC, way before 570 AD.

Muslims claim that the cause of the rainbow was described by Qutb Al Din Al Shirazi. However, the first correct explanation of the phenomenon was advanced in 1666 by the English mathematician and physicist Sir Isaac Newton.

Muslims claim that they have built the most beautiful architecture, often quoting the Taj Mahal as an example in evidence. Often ignored however, is the great feat by Muslims of the destruction of churches throughout the Muslim region where Islamic mosques were built on top of Christian churches and where bones and tombstones from the graveyards of Jews were used as decorative ornaments.

There you have it folks. Muslims claim ownership on everything although history proves that they were interloping, conquesting murderous thieves, who stole what other cultures had created and originated. Many palestinians do not know or believe there is an ancient Jewish connection to the Temple Mount. The official Waqf guidebook to al-Haram al-Sharif, the Arabic name for the Noble Sanctuary, says there is no historical or archaeological proof that the temples were built there.

Muslims want to de-Judaize Israel but I assure you, it ain't gonna happen.

Dispelling the "Disengagement" Myths

Myth: The Gaza Strip was never considered part of the land of Israel.

In the book of Genesis (12:10), Abraham leaves the land of Israel to go to Egypt because there was no food in Israel due to a famine. When there was a famine in the time of Isaac (Abraham's son), however, God tells Isaac that he may not leave the land of Israel. Instead, God tells Isaac to stay within the land of Israel, and Isaac complies by going to the land that would eventually be inhabited by the Philistines.

In the book of Samuel (I Samuel 6:4), we learn that there were five governors of the Philistines, one from each of their five principle cities. In verse 17 of the same chapter, those cities are identified as Ashdod, Gaza, Ashkelon, Gat and Ekron. Now, if Isaac could sojourn in the land of the Philistines because it was really considered part of Israel, and Gaza was one of the major Philistine municipalities, then it stands to reason that Gaza is considered to be inside the land of Israel. The four other Philistine cities are today inside of Israel's "internationally recognized borders"; in fact, Ashdod and Ashkelon are major seaports vital to the State of Israel's economy.

If Jews have no right to live in Gaza because it is not really part of the land of Israel, then Jews have no right to live in Ashkelon or Ashdod, either. In fact, if Gaza, Ashkelon and Ashdod were the major cities of the Philistines, then it stands to reason that Philistine territory extended a considerable distance along the coast north and south of those cities. Since Tel Aviv, which was built in modern times, is just north of Ashdod, the implication is that if Jews have no right to live in Gaza because it is not part of Israel, then they have no right to live in Tel Aviv.

In the books of Numbers (Chapter 34) and Ezekiel (Chapter 47), the borders of the land of Israel are explicitly defined. In both books, the southern border is described as extending from the southern side of the Dead Sea toward the Mediterranean Sea. While the identity and exact location of the towns the border is said to pass near is subject to debate among scholars, a more or less straight line drawn from the bottom of the Dead Sea westward toward the Mediterranean Sea runs well south of the Gaza Strip.

The book of Numbers mentions that the border is to intersect the "brook of Egypt" and follow the brook into the Dead Sea. Various conjectures have been given to identify the brook in question, but the reference to Egypt seems to imply some kind of connection with the Nile River, whose delta was much wider before the construction of the Aswan High Dam. The easternmost branch of the river probably flowed considerably into the Sinai Peninsula in ancient times, and that was probably the westernmost extremity of the territory inhabited by the Philistines. Today, a convenient marker between what is traditionally referred to as Egypt and the lands to its east, which include the Sinai Peninsula and the ancient territory of the Philistines, is the Suez Canal. Geographically speaking, the Suez Canal is what is now considered the dividing line between Asia and Africa.

Since the Gaza Strip is clearly considered to be part of the Holy Land by the Biblical sources that spell out its boundaries, many who insist that the Gaza Strip not be considered part of the land of Israel argue that, historically, Jews never settled extensively in that area and never conquered it in Biblical times. However, those who believe that the State of Israel represents at least a partial fulfillment of the Biblical promise that the Jews would one day return to the land and exercise political control over it (in short: those who call themselves Zionists) may find historical justification for the right of Jews to control the Gaza Strip in the fact that God delivered the entire region, all the way up to the Suez Canal, into the control of the Sate of Israel quite miraculously in 1967.

Rather than exploit the resources of the Sinai Peninsula and aggressively settle it, though, the State of Israel, from 1979 to 1982, did something absolutely unprecedented in human history - it returned territory that it conquered while fighting a defensive war in exchange for a peace agreement. That would be akin to the United States returning California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and parts of several other states, to Mexico, since it conquered those lands from Mexico in an offensive war.

Jerusalem has been the heart of Israel and of world Jewry for 3,000 years

From Tzemach News Service (TNS) is a ministry of Tzemach Institute for Biblical Studies (http://www.tzemach.org/):
Jerusalem has been the heart of Israel and of world Jewry for 3,000 years, and there has been a virtually unbroken Jewish presence there for all that time. When modern statistics are on record, they show Jews as the majority in the city:

* 1860: 11,000 Jews, 6,500 Muslims, 4,500 Christians
* 1906: 40,000 Jews, 13,000 Christians, 7,000 Muslims
* 1999: 633,000 Jews, 200,000 Mulsims and Christians

Jews around the world turn toward Jerusalem when they pray. Muslims turn toward Mecca. Jews and Christians make religious pilgrimages to Jerusalem. Muslims make religious pilgrimages to Mecca.

Jerusalem is not mentioned at all in the Koran. It does not appear on lists of Muslim holy cities. Caliphs and sultans ruling from afar paid little or no heed to Jerusalem; it dwindled to a dirty, dilapidated and poverty-stricken village -- scarcely to be expected in any city that is loved or revered.

Arabs built little in Jerusalem, with the exception of the Dome of the Rock, that a caliph built in the Seventh Century -- on the site of the First and Second biblical Temples. It is now being alleged that those Temples never existed, and while one might suppose this too preposterous to require rebuttal, the historically illiterate minions of the news media may repeat it with quite serious mien.

During the Jordanian occupation of the Old City of Jerusalem, the Jewish residents were killed or driven out. For 19 years, Jews of all nationalities were banned from their holy places and historical sites, while ancient synagogues and cemeteries were wrecked or crudely desecrated. Now, the Muslim religious authorities still permitted to administer Temple Mount are relentlessly unearthing and destroying every relic of the Temples they say never existed -- a program dubbed "archaeological terrorism".
