Groups set to protest Saudi Arabia in Los Angeles
A coalition of organizations spearheaded by the United American Committee is set to protest against Saudi influence in America and against Saudi support of terror according to the groups. The protest will occur this Saturday August 2nd at 4:00 PM in front of the Consulate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia located at 2045 Sawtelle Blvd. Los Angeles, CA.
With growing animosity and suspicion toward Saudi Arabia, several groups involved in what is being called the anti-jihad resistance are planning a protest with goals to bring awareness of Saudi Arabia's questionable usage of dollars earned by the latest spike in the cost of petroleum.
The primary source of outrage among protesters is what they call Saudi support of terror through the Kingdom's funding of radical mosques and Islamic schools known as madrassas throughout the world which follow the Saudi fundamentalist view of Islam known as Wahabism.
Groups such as the United American Committee state that when one traces the trail of virtually any Muslim terrorist in the world, it almost inevitably leads back to a Saudi funded mosque or school that the terrorist has been trained in.
“When we fill up every time at the pump they are turning our dollars against us in order to kill us.” remarks protester Jim Horn, Vice Chairman of the U.A.C., a non-profit organization with goals to educate Americans about the threat of radical Islam.
“They have learned our laws and our ways of life and are now using them against us, something which the terrorists have learned is far more effective than bullets or physical attacks,” Horn continued, also referring to the Saudi lobbyist efforts which influence American politicians, another item which is a primary target of this coming Saturday's protest.
In recent years through the growing use of internet weblogs and other alternative medium, Saudi interference in American school systems have greatly come to light, stirring a great deal of unrest among parents and educators.
In 2007 the UAC released 10,000 pamphlets to its members with various facts on Saudi influence in Western education.
These facts listed such items as Saudi Arabia's funding of mid-east study programs which teach Saudi style views on Islam in American Universities such as Georgetown which received $22 million, or the University of Arkansas which received $20 million.
Such programs are notably set up by Saudi Arabia in universities with almost no Muslim student body to speak of. Once the initial Saudi money runs out to fund these programs, they are then often subsidized by American tax dollars.
The UAC report also mentioned Saudi influence at elementary school levels including notebooks given to teachers such as the “Arab World Studies Notebook” in which children are led to believe that Jews control American foreign policy and that the Koran is superior to other religious texts.
The protester's aims are to awaken the nation and let American politicians know that the citizens of America are beginning to view Saudi Arabia to radical Islam in the world today as the Soviet Union was viewed to stand for Communism in the world during the Cold War.
All concerned Americans are urged to attend this important protest Saturday at 4:00 PM in front of the Saudi Consulate located at 2045 Sawtelle Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA.

Swiss Widen Probe into BAE Arms Deal
Swiss authorities have widened a corruption investigation linked to arms deals by the British aerospace company BAE Systems PLC, prosecutors said.
The investigations center on allegations that BAE used Swiss bank accounts to pay millions of pounds in bribes to officials from Saudi Arabia in return for contracts. An investigation by Britain's Serious Fraud Office was halted in late 2006 after the Saudi Arabian government threatened to withhold cooperation on critical issues of anti-terrorism.

A quick geopolitical quiz
Here's a quick geopolitical quiz, Evolved Life Forms:
What country is three times the size of Texas and has more than 300 days of blazing sun a year? What country has the world's largest oil reserves resting below miles upon miles of sand? And what country is being given nuclear power, not solar, by President George W. Bush, even when the mere assumption of nuclear possession in its region has been known to provoke pre-emptive air strikes, even wars?
If you answered Saudi Arabia to all of these questions, you're right.

Alert: U.S. to help Saudis gain nuclear technology
Today the United American Committee is alerting its members to an issue at hand that the UAC finds utterly disgusting, troubling, and gravely dangerous.
The United States government has agreed to help the radical kingdom called Saudi Arabia develop nuclear technology for power and other “peaceful” purposes. See the news article here.
The UAC wishes to remind everyone of an article from 2003 describing the Saudi kingdom's intense desire to develop a nuclear bomb.
Due to overwhelming evidence and hard facts, the UAC firmly believes that the Saudi kingdom is the chief exporter of terrorism and extremism in the world. The kingdom spend billions of dollars on exporting their extremist ideology through the construction of radical mosques and madrassas throughout the world, as well as direct support to terror support in the form of money to the families of suicide bombers, as well as direct contributions to charities in the United States who believe in establishing Islamic law in America. The kingdom also spends billions of dollars supporting lobbying activities to influence our government officials.
We urge every United American Committee member and activist within the anti-jihad resistance to contact their congressman and senators to let your opinion be known.

10% of Clinton Library was funded by Saudi Arabia
Bill Clinton's presidential library raised more than 10 percent of the cost of its $165 million facility from foreign sources, with the most generous overseas donation coming from Saudi Arabia, according to interviews yesterday.
The presidential campaign of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) has for months faced questions about the source of the money for her husband's presidential library. During a September debate, moderator Tim Russert asked the senator whether her husband would release a donor list. Clinton said she was sure her husband would "be happy to consider that," though the former president later declined to provide a list of donors.
So, if Bill Clinton got Saudi money, then you know that Hillary Clinton, the post-menopausal menace, got Saudi money. Those two don't do anything apart except sleep together. This also explains Hillary Clinton's penchant for Arabian things considering that on November 11, 1999, during a Gaza appearance with First Lady Hillary Clinton, Suha Arafat, wife of Muslim terrorist and pederast Yasser Arafat stated:
"Our people have been subjected to the daily and extensive use of poisonous gas by the Israeli forces, which has led to an increase in cancer cases among women and children."Moments after Suha Arafat accused Israel of gassing palestinian women and children, (but not the men) and instead of confronting Suha Arafat and asking her for evidence of her fraudulent claims, Hillary Clinton kissed her instead.

Let's start talking about the Saudi lobby
Some say the sheer size of Saudi donations to Middle East studies departments amounts to buying influence and creating bastions of noncritical pro-Islamic scholarship within academia. "There's a possibility these campuses aren't getting gifts, they're getting investments," said Clifford May, president of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. There are 17 federally funded centers on American college campuses devoted solely to Middle Eastern studies and another 30 to 40 that do not receive federal aid, according to Amy Newhall, executive director of the Middle East Studies Association at the University of Arizona. Not counting several positions at Georgetown University, she estimated at least 10 chaired professorships currently funded by Saudis at major universities.
"With all the talk of the Israel lobby, no one talks about the Saudi lobby," said Winfield Myers, director of Campus Watch. "There is no counterweight to Saudi influence in American higher education."

Film: The Libel Tourist
This 8-minute documentary short film, produced by the Moving Picture Institute, shows how Saudi billionaire Khalid Bin Mafhouz exploits the British legal system and sues for libel whenever he is the subject of a terrorism accusation.
Directed by MPI fellow Jared Lapidus, the film explains how Mahfouz filed a libel suit against Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, author of Funding Evil; How Terrorism is Financed -- and How to Stop It. The suit was not filed in the United States, where the book was published and sold, but instead in London, where Mahfouz associates ordered 23 copies online. The judge ordered all copies of the book pulped, and ordered Ehrenfeld to pay the legal fees and damages, despite the fact that nothing in her book about Saudi funding of terrorism was ever disproved.
Ehrenfeld, however, is fighting back. In The Libel Tourist she speaks about her shocking experience of modern-day book burning by British courts, and the First Amendment lawsuit she filed against Mahfouz.

Saudi Arabian Students Are Back in U.S.
The number of international students attending American colleges and universities has nearly rebounded from a slump that followed the 2001 terrorist attacks, which triggered tough new visa restrictions and closer monitoring of foreign scholars. Nearly 8,000 students from Saudi Arabia attended American colleges and universities in 2006-2007, a 128% increase over 2005-2006.

Saudi Arabia Marks 136th Beheading of 2007
In a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency, the ministry said that Ali bin Suweid Al-Domnan killed Diyab bin Ali al-Mansour following an argument in the southern city of Najran. Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam under which those convicted of murder, drug trafficking, rape and armed robbery are executed in public with a sword. Sunday's execution brought to 136 the number of people beheaded in the kingdom this year, according to an Associated Press count. Saudi Arabia beheaded 38 people last year and 83 people in 2005.136 down, 999,999,864 million to go.

The Saudi Roots of 9/11
In The Siege of Mecca, Wall Street Journal writer Yaroslav Trofimov pulls back the curtain surrounding events that the Saudis would very much rather the world forgot.
The November 1979 siege of the Grand Mosque in Mecca laid the groundwork for al-Qaeda and the events of Sep. 11. Juhayman al-Uteybi led the siege. Driven by Wahhabi orthodoxy, Juhayman hated all infidels.
America's then-president Jimmy Carter's naive faith in peacemaking was no match for fundamentalist fury.
Carter's administration was busy propping up the Saudis even as outlandish conspiracy theories implicating the U.S. swept the Muslim world. Embassy staff fled murderous mobs from Pakistan to Libya.
Damage from the siege and the battle to recapture it meant reconstruction costing billions - payable to the Bin Laden Construction Company.

The Involvement of Saudi Nationals in Terrorist Activity
A public debate has emerged in Saudi Arabia regarding the involvement of Saudi nationals in terrorist activities throughout the world. The Lebanese news agency Al-Markaziyya reported, citing a diplomatic source, that Saudi Arabia had demanded that Syria round up the 980 Saudi al-Qaeda members currently at a refugee camp in Syria, and hand them over to Saudi authorities as a precondition for any negotiations between the two countries. 73 Saudis are imprisoned in Jordan.
There are also reports of Saudi involvement in terrorist activities in the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp in northern Lebanon. According to Lebanese security apparatuses, Saudi nationals constitute 30% of the members of Fath al-Islam. Saudi Maj.-Gen. 'Abd al-Karim Khalaf told the Saudi daily Al-Watan that 70 Saudi nationals had been arrested in Iraq. He added, "The majority of those arrested acknowledged during interrogation that they had come to Iraq following fatwas issued by 'ulama calling for armed activities there."

Saudis to confiscate Bibles from tourists
Despite a series of initiatives aimed at generating foreign tourism, the Saudi Arabian government continues to bar Jews and Christians from bringing items such as Bibles, crucifixes and Stars of David into the country and is threatening to confiscate them on sight, The Jerusalem Post has learned.
After informing would-be visitors that items such as narcotics, firearms and pornography may not be transported into the country, the web site adds:
"Items and articles belonging to religions other than Islam are also prohibited. These may include Bibles, crucifixes, statues, carvings, items with religious symbols such as the Star of David, and others."

Saudi Arabia Backs Out of Arab Peace Initiative
Saudi Arabia has dropped its support for a land-for-peace deal between Israel and the Arab world over fears of al-Qaeda attacks, an Israeli official said Saturday. "We estimate the Saudis got cold feet over suspicions of Iran and fears of terror attacks sponsored by Iran and al-Qaeda," the official said. The official added that Egypt's intelligence chief Omar Suleiman raised the issue of Saudi Arabia with President Bush during a visit to Washington last week. When Bush announced plans to hold a conference in his speech about the Middle East last week, Saudi Arabia failed to announce whether it would attend the regional meeting. The official added that Saudi Arabia feared that isolating Hamas would push it into Iran's arms and exacerbate Tehran's financial support to radical Palestinian groups. Saudi Arabia's stance set alarms ringing in Amman and prompted the Jordanian monarch to seek an emergency meeting with President Bush.

Iraq's Insurgency Nearly Half Saudi
About 45% of all foreign militants targeting U.S. troops and Iraqi civilians and security forces are from Saudi Arabia; 15% are from Syria and Lebanon; and 10% are from North Africa, according to official U.S. military figures. Nearly half of the 135 foreigners in U.S. detention facilities in Iraq are Saudis, a senior U.S. officer said. Fighters from Saudi Arabia are thought to have carried out more suicide bombings than those of any other nationality, he said.
The situation has left the U.S. military in the awkward position of battling an enemy whose top source of foreign fighters is a key ally that at best has not been able to prevent its citizens from undertaking attacks in Iraq, and at worst shares complicity in sending extremists to commit attacks.

"The Saudi Plan Is Dead": Senior Saudi Officials Admit to Israel that the Initiative Is No Longer Relevant
Israel's hope to reach an understanding on a political settlement together with the countries of the Arab League has run aground. Senior political officials in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan announced in closed meetings with senior Israelis that the "Saudi Initiative," which Prime Minister Olmert sees as a basis for an agreement, is presently dead, and that as long as the chaos continues within the Palestinian Authority, there is no point in pursuing this avenue. These clarifications were received by senior Israeli political and defense officials. An internal document from the Foreign Ministry of July 2 says that Saudi Arabia has significantly changed its policy toward Israel and the PA. "Saudi reluctance to express clear support for Abbas and his new government reflects Saudi opposition to Abbas' policy to isolate Hamas," the document says. It further notes that the Saudis are very disappointed by the rapid failure of the Mecca Agreement brokered between Hamas and Fatah earlier this year. The document states that Israel should stop using the term "the Saudi Initiative."

Saudi Clerics Urge Palestinians to Maintain Jihad Against Israel
Several key Saudi Muslim clerics this week urged Palestinians not to give up jihad against Israel. "Maintain the way of jihad and preaching which has spread among the Muslim Palestinian people. Support it and beware of it easing up," said a June 30 statement published on Islamist websites signed by 16 leading clerics including Abdel-Rahman al-Barrak and Nasser al-Omar.
