Al-Qaeda continues to recruit Europeans for explosives training in Pakistan because Europeans can more easily enter the U.S. without a visa, Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell said Tuesday. European al-Qaeda recruits in the border region of Pakistan are being trained to use commercially available substances to make explosives, and they may be able to carry out an attack on U.S. territory. "Purposely recruiting an operative from Europe gives them an extra edge into getting an operative, or two or three, into the country with the ability to carry out an attack that might be reminiscent of 9/11," he said.

Abbas threatens to boycott peace summit

A veiled threat from a Muslim Jew-hater. What a surprise considering Mahmoud Abbas and Abu Mazen is the same person - and the engineer behind the "Black September" murder of Israel's olympic athletes in 1972, including one U.S. citizen, a weightlifter named David Berger who was an American from Cleveland, Ohio. Palestinian authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas will not attend Washington's regional peace summit in November unless Israel agrees to a reach an agreement with the Palestinians there, Abbas' associates told Haaretz Sunday, adding the summit could "prove dangerous". With U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice expected to arrive in Jerusalem Monday, the Saudis also submitted some preconditions for their attendance.

"We can live without the summit, but if does take place and fail by producing nothing more than a joint statement, then it could prove to be a danger for the whole region," one of Abbas' senior advisers told Haaretz. "We must not attend such a summit. We're not demanding the resolution of the entire problem by then, but we are demanding a significant breakthrough from the meeting."

A District Court in Washington ordered the Iranian government to pay $12.9 million in compensation to the family of Marla Bennett, 24, of San Diego, who was killed in a bombing at the Hebrew University's cafeteria in July 2002. Judge Royce Lamberth ruled that Iran was legally responsible for the terror attack because it supported and sponsored Hamas, the organization that carried out the bombing. Nine students and workers were killed in the bombing.

U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth Friday ordered Iran to pay more than $2.6 billion to nearly 1,000 family members and a handful of survivors of a 1983 bombing of a Marine barracks in Lebanon that killed 241 soldiers. Hizbullah carried out the suicide bombing on Oct. 23, 1983, but in a ruling in 2003, Lamberth found that Iran was "legally responsible" for supporting Hizbullah with financial and logistical support to carry out the attack.

Terrorists who had planned to detonate gel-based explosives on U.S.-bound flights from London last August would have achieved mass devastation, according to new information from Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. "I think that the plot, in terms of its intent, was looking at devastation on a scale that would have rivaled 9/11," Chertoff told ABC. "If they had succeeded in bringing liquid explosives on seven or eight aircraft, there could have been thousands of lives lost and an enormous economic impact with devastating consequences for international air travel." Airports in the U.S. and the UK were put on red alert and liquids were banned from carry-on luggage as suspects were picked up, including 24 British-born Muslims and seven Pakistanis.

Al-Qaida infiltrating America as patients

Medical clinics across the country have been flooded with requests from foreign nationals from Pakistan and other Muslim countries to help them gain visa entry into the U.S. as patients. The post-9/11 trend concerns authorities who fear al-Qaida could be using the medical industry to infiltrate terrorist cells into the country. Some clinics have sponsored foreign patients only to have them fail to show up at their facilities. The Caster Eye Center in Beverly Hills, Calif., for example, stopped granting such foreign requests after a couple of no-shows.

In the wake of the recent "doctor jihad" in the UK, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security are scrutinizing foreign nationals who have applied to the U.S. for visas to attend medical school or practice medicine here.

Two of the UK physicians who plotted to car-bomb London's entertainment district had applied for permission to work in the U.S. One made contact with the Philadelphia-based Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.

Terrorists posing as patients also are a growing concern, federal authorities say.

On July 1, 1973, Col. Yosef Alon - a charismatic former fighter pilot and the assistant air and naval attache at Israel's Embassy in Washington - was gunned down in his suburban Maryland driveway. Recently declassified CIA documents, Alon's voluminous FBI case file, and interviews reveal that years after the shooting, the agency received a tantalizing tip about who likely pulled off the assassination and how the deadly plot was carried out.

On the same day as the murder, monitors from the State Department heard the PLO's Voice of Palestine radio announce: "Col. Yosef Alon...was executed.... His is the first execution operation carried out against a Zionist official in the U.S.'' According to portions of the FBI file that remain secret, "A sensitive source advised that the Black September organization was responsible for the crime.'' The CIA had learned from a "Fedayeen senior official'' that two students had entered the U.S. via Canada and traveled on either Lebanese or Cypriot passports to Washington.

In addition, Black September had tried to detonate three car bombs in New York City in March 1973.

Giuliani Slams Bill Clinton on Terrorism

Under Clinton-Gore, two US embassies and the USS Cole were bombed. Clinton had three chances to get Osama bin Laden and refused to do so. Bill Clinton still must answer to the families of 9/11 and to the rest of us in the United States. From AP:

"Islamic terrorists killed more than 500 Americans before Sept. 11. Many people think the first attack on America was on Sept. 11, 2001. It was not. It was in 1993," said the former New York mayor.

Giuliani argued that Clinton treated the World Trade Center bombing as a criminal act instead of a terrorist attack, calling it "a big mistake" that emboldened other strikes on the Khobar Towers housing complex in Saudi Arabia, in Kenya and Tanzania and later on the USS Cole while docked in Yemen in 2000.

The United States government, then President Clinton, did not respond," Giuliani said. "(Osama) bin Laden declared war on us. We didn't hear it."

In hindsight, Giuliani said, maybe it's all clearer now, "but now is now, and there is no reason to go back into denial, and that is essentially what the Democratic candidates for president want to do: they want to go back, to put the country in reverse to the 1990s.

Two Sentenced to Death for Cole Bombing

Folks, a Yemeni judge sentenced two men to death and four others to prison terms ranging from five to 10 years Wednesday for orchestrating the 2000 suicide bombing of the USS Cole, an attack blamed on bin Laden's terror network.

Saudi-born Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, who is in U.S. custody at an undisclosed location, and Jamal al-Badawi, a 35-year-old Yemeni, were both sentenced to death for plotting, preparing and involvement in the bombing, which killed 17 U.S. sailors as their destroyer refueled in the southern Yemeni port of Aden.

And folks, this happened under BJ Clinton's watch, as did the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993, and the American embassy bombings in Africa.

In fact, the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, the "Black September" terror attack during the Munich Olympics, which killed 11 Israeli athletes and a U.S. citizen, the destruction of the Buddhist statues in Afghanistan by the Taliban, the murder of 300,000 Iraqi's bodies which were found in mass graves, and the ongoing slaughter of Sudanese Christians, and the persecution, murder, beheadings of Jews by Muslims since the time of Mohammed's birth, ALL occurred before Bush was in office.

So to all the democRATS and the libs out there who blame terror is on the rise because of Bush, go back to your miserable tiny lives and start focusing the blame on where it belongs: Islam's ceaseless intolerance of other people, nations, ideas and beliefs.
