CODEPINK and Friends To Crash GOP Convention

Via OnTheWriteSide:
Disturbed individuals with every liberal agenda under the sun plan to descend upon St. Paul, Minnesota for the Republican National Committee's presidential nominating convention on September 1-4.

Anti-war loonies CODEPINK will attend the event complete with pink "police" on in-line skates and the pink-slip girls, who have been known to deliver their "pink slips" to politicians whom they believe aren't doing enough to end the war in Iraq.

Revolt on the Hill

Bravo to the great men and women of the Republican Party for fighting the tyranny of Democrat Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat thugs. Read here about the revolt by the Republicans and how the Democrats failed to silence the people's voice. "This is the people's House," said Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.). "This is not Pelosi's politiburo." Nancy Pelosi even cut off the mikes to C-Span. If this doesn't expose the Left and their policy preferences, nothing will. Read it here on Politico.

What Are the "Netroots"?

A look at the influential alliance of leftist bloggers seeking to help Democratic candidates nationwide win political elections. From DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
A blend of the words “Internet” and “grassroots,” the term “Netroots” refers to the coordinated activism of the political Left via blogs, podcasts, newsletters, message forums, and other online media. These bloggers, etc. fervently support Democratic Party candidates for public office and in many cases work for them directly. Seeking to “utiliz[e] the [I]nternet to empower an electoral campaign through a variety of mediums that go beyond the standard website,” Netroots’ threefold mission is to “increase voter awareness”; “win undecided votes” for Democrats; and “raise campaign finances” for Democrats.

The term “Netroots” was first popularized in December 2002 on the webpage “Netroots for Howard Dean,” which was featured on Jerome Armstrong’s MyDD (My Due Diligence) blog. Allowing readers to post their own commentaries, MyDD emerged as an effective locus of activism for supporters of Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential campaign.

Netroots-affiliated bloggers generally regard one another as friends or allies united in what they term “the people-powered movement” or “the progressive movement.” While each writer’s commentary naturally reflects his or her own individual character traits and foci, the Netroots are uniformly critical of President George W. Bush and America’s participation in the Iraq War. And while they do not object to any of their brethren refusing to toe the party line on a given social or political matter, they have no patience for those who withhold their support for a Democratic candidate because they disagree with the candidate’s position on a single pet issue. In short, the Netroots are passionately multi-issue; their larger goal of helping Democrats to secure ever-increasing governmental influence overrides any single-issue disputes that may arise. So large a following have their combined efforts attracted, that Jonathan Chait of The New Republic has called Netroots “the most important mass movement in U.S. politics.”

Netroots activists are not synonymous with leftist bloggers per se. The term refers specifically to those bloggers who are directly involved in political activism -- those who may urge their readers to volunteer for, or donate money to, Democratic candidates.

Committed to working within the two-party structure, Netroots bloggers eschew street demonstrations and scorn third-party candidates (such as Ralph Nader) whose election bids may siphon votes away from Democrats and thereby weaken their cause. In the process of helping Democrats expand their influence, the Netroots seek to move the Democratic Party ever-further to the political Left. (According to one survey of Netroots members, some two-thirds wanted the Democratic Party to become more leftwing.)

Believing that they represent a political philosophy that would naturally win a majority of Americans’ support if only Democrats would not be timid about verbalizing it, the Netroots have pressed the Democratic Party to adopt a more openly adversarial tone in its battles with Republicans. As MyDD’s Matt Toller wrote in 2006: “Hiding from progressives and the left will lead to Democratic losses in 2006. Running as a progressive will lead to victory.” Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, founder of the Daily Kos weblog, put it this way: “If we [Netroots] do our part to support the new generation of Democrats, the opposition doesn’t stand a chance. Because all the money, all the name ID, all the connections don’t stand a chance against a real people-powered movement.”

Netroots bloggers (like Zuniga) tend to be young, most often in their twenties or thirties. Many developed a strong interest in politics only recently. They most commonly cite the Florida recount controversy in the 2000 presidential race between George W. Bush and Al Gore as the galvanizing event that sparked their current activism. According to The New Republic, Zuniga's and Jerome Armstrong’s 2006 book Crashing the Gate is "the closest thing to a manifesto of the [N]etroots movement." That publication begins like this:“

Five years ago, the Republicans took over the government through nondemocratic means. Establishment Democrats, for the most part, stood back and watched as a partisan judicial body halted the counting of presidential votes. While conservative activists led the charge on behalf of their party, there was nothing happening on our side. That was the spark. Fed-up progressive activists began organizing online. Fueled by the new technologies -- the web, blogging tools, internet search engines -- this new generation of activists challenged the moribund Democratic Party establishment.”

Zuniga, who in 2001 and 2002 was a frequent guest commentator on MyDD, cultivated a considerable following of his own and went on to create the aforementioned Daily Kos, which now spearheads the Netroots movement. In Zuniga’s calculus, the major purpose of Netroots is to “have a unified message in the face of a unified conservative noise machine.” In a December 2005 interview with Newsweek magazine, Zuniga characterized the Netroots as “the crazy political junkies that hang out in blogs.” Their task, according to The New Republic, is “recreating the Democratic Party in the image of the conservative machine they have set out to destroy.”

Netroots activists commonly utilize a technique known as “blogswarming,” whereby they flood the Internet with commentary on whatever particular issue or event they deem vital to the Democratic/leftist cause. According to writer Jonathan Chait:

“It is a formulation that assumes that establishing the truth about an idea matters less than phrasing the idea in the most politically effective way and repeating it as much as possible. As Ed Kilgore (a moderate liberal blogger with a complicated relationship to the netroots) has put it, this wording ‘reflects the strange belief that politics is all about noise and narratives’; whoever makes the most noise or gets the most Google hits is going to win, regardless of objective reality.”

The blogswarmers have also proved to be very effective fundraisers for Democratic candidates. Says The New Republic:

“They have raised significant sums of cash for politicians, organized volunteers, and brought together like-minded activists. This has, in turn, created an alternative power center for recruiting candidates for office. Before the net- roots, potential candidates who wanted the national party to take them seriously needed to raise large sums from familiar donors. Now they can raise money on the Internet and approach the national party from a position of strength. ‘They have totally changed the equation for what makes it possible for somebody to be a viable candidate,’ notes Mark Schmitt of the New America Foundation.”

As of mid-2007, the second most influential Netroots blog was Eschaton, written by Philadelphia economist Duncan Black under the pseudonym “Atrios.” Other notable Netroots affiliates include Media Matters for America, the New Politics Institute, MoveOn.org, Crooks and Liars, Americablog, FireDogLake, and an e-mail list called Townhouse.

The Netroots blogs have played a major role in numerous political happenings in recent years, such as: drafting General Wesley Clark into the 2004 presidential campaign; supporting Ned Lamont in his 2006 primary victory over Democratic Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut; and drafting Democrat James Webb to run in the 2006 race for U.S. Senator from Virginia. Netroots subsequently helped Webb win a close election over Republican incumbent George Allen by giving wide Internet exposure to an allegedly anti-Asian remark made by the latter.

Netroots efforts also focused immense attention on: some allegedly racist comments made in December 2002 by then-Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott at a birthday celebration for Senator Strom Thurmond; a 2006 sexual scandal involving Republican Congressman Mark Foley of Florida; and the anti-Iraq War campaign of Cindy Sheehan, who initially had failed to draw much attention from the mainstream media.

Because of their ever-growing political sway, the Netroots are now taken very seriously by the Democratic political establishment. Zuniga, for one, consults regularly with influential Democrats in Washington, DC. Presidential candidates (most notably Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Chris Dodd) commonly hire popular Netroots bloggers or court them with private dinners.

In 2006, a number of leading Democrats traveled to Las Vegas to attend Yearly Kos, the first annual convention for hundreds of bloggers from Daily Kos and many other Netroots websites. In August 2007, some 1,500 bloggers and activists gathered in Chicago for the second annual Yearly Kos convention. Among those who attended were Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid.

Maine School drops Pledge of Allegiance during ceremony to prevent offending Muslims

Planck's Constant has more alarming news about how spineless Americans and America has become where Muslims are involved. In this post, we learn from Bernie that
Oregon's southwest Portland elementary school officials, without a single Muslim complaint, in order to prevent the smidgin of likelihood, a sliver of chance, a particle of possibility that some Muslim might perhaps potentially be slightly offended, decided to exclude the Pledge of Allegiance from an elementary school's ceremony.

From KATU News, School drops Pledge of Allegiance during ceremony:

The Portland School District said there were no complaints about the pledge. They said they have little say in how principals handle end of the year ceremonies at individual schools.

The following is the full e-mail response that parent Briana Reese received from Principal Pam Wilson:

"The Pledge contains the words, 'under God' and we have many Muslim families here. So out of respect for the diversity of religious faiths practiced by our school community (parents and families) we decided that this year the students would memorize and sing the Preamble to the Constitution. At the rehearsal on Friday they did it from memory and to a wonderful song. It was very joyful and unique. I think you, and other parents, will really appreciate the creative and new way to open the program."

It's a disgusting program, Pam Wilson, because liberals and socialists like you are killing this country by supplanting our traditions and values on behalf of our enemies.

I remember how the libs ran out to get copies of the koran in order to embrace the Arab community after 9-11. I also remember what the libs said after 9-11. They said, "if only we weren't such a mean spirited nation, the nice arabs wouldn't have done this to us." The libs all ran out and bought the koran. They all went to embrace the fake religion of peace. They said, "Bush was a wild cowboy." No, Muslims aren't wild in spite of the empicial historical evidence that proves otherwise.

Well, if you don't remember, it's time to remember.

The Tolerance for Terrorists has got to stop. Ultra tolerance is killing us, it's killing Spain, it's killing Europe and mostly, it's killing Israel.

The meltdown of our American society is concommitant with the invasion of our nation. It's the ACLU, it's the National Lawyers Guild and it's every radical left-wing liberal in this nation.

It's the enemy within our own country that is going to assist Muslims in killing the rest of us. We mustn't let leftwing radicals, including those in the media, as well as Hollywood actors and untalented comedians tell us how our President should defend us during wartime.

Of course the media won't even cover this story withoug putting a spin on it. Tomorrow we will once again hear about gay marriages, Britney Spears, amd abortion activism. The left will make the terrorists "victims"; they will tell us why we deserve the rage of third world street thugs.

But it's our duty to remind the enemies from within this country what we are facing. That's why sites like Smooth Stone and Planck's Constant must be read so that you can educate yourselves and facilitate your own research. Use those sites to search on historical events you are unclear about. Corroborate what you read here with other research and informational sites.

I urge all of you to start talking about the World Trade Center again, how people jumped to their deaths and how you felt on that catastrophic day. Talk about the Bali bombings, the first WTC attack in 1993, the Lockerbie bombing, Israel's suffering, the El Al hijackings, Arafat's unmitigated gall and temper tantrums, how Saddam's sons tortured thousands of innocent people. Talk about all that. And most importantly, know that it was the American Left and the rest of the Hate America crowd who are also responsible for 9-11, because they are the ones who initiated and instigated and urged the fraying of the social, traditional, and religious fabric of our country.

The Left's Fairy Tale

To the left, falsehood substitutes for reasoned argumentation. The following article is timely and appropriate considering two leftists just wrote ridiculous comments on this site full of errors so ahistorical and counterfactual as to represent an unreality. The article, The Left's Fairy Tale, written by Ben Johnson dissects the problem with the lefts' view of the Iraq war, parts excerpted below:

In simple terms, nearly everything the Left believes about the United States for the past eight years is a lie. Taken one-at-a-time, such misinformation is not necessarily corrosive. Taken as a whole, they erode a citizen’s ability to support his nation’s cause during a time of war, giving the enemy invaluable aid and comfort. Indeed, this is one of the lessons of the new book David Horowitz and I have written entitled, Party of Defeat.

The left-wing dream sequence begins with the election of George W. Bush – or rather, the election of Al Gore. The Left universally insists Al Gore won the presidency. Campaigning for the nomination he eventually won, Sen. John Kerry whined in 2003: “Florida is the place where America’s democracy was wounded.” His future running-mate, John Edwards, stated bluntly: “We had more votes; we won!” And former president Jimmy Carter – who vouched for the authenticity of Hugo Chavez’s electoral triumph – told American University students, “There’s no doubt in my mind that Al Gore was elected president.” Bush was permitted to “steal” the election, according to the Left, because the Supreme Court halted the (most recent) Florida recount (Bush having won more than one recount already).

However, the media put the lie to this shortly after the election. In 2001, CNN reported that a conglomerate of media groups, which sponsored its own recount, “showed that Bush's razor-thin margin of 537 votes – certified in December by the Florida Secretary of State's office – would have tripled to 1,665 votes if counted according to standards advocated by his Democratic rival, former Vice President Al Gore.” Some may counter that the recounters weren’t using Al Gore’s standard. CNN added, “If that recount had proceeded under the standard that most local election officials said they would have used, the study found that Bush would have emerged with 493 more votes than Gore.” The recount did nothing but postpone Bush’s inevitable inauguration – and prevent him from implementing the comprehensive anti-terrorism strategy, which reached his desk on September 10, 2001.

This lie leads to the next: after stealing his office, President Bush set about dividing America. Al Gore told an adoring audience of MoveOn.org members, “far from uniting the people, the president's ideologically narrow agenda has seriously divided America. His most partisan supporters have launched a kind of 'civil cold war' against those with whom they disagree.” However, Bush attempted in his first year to govern the nation as he governed Texas: a bipartisan champion. He allowed Ted Kennedy a hand in writing his education reform bill, straddled a moral divide on stem cell research, and for eight years has negotiated such pork-rich budgets that it cost his party control of Congress.

{...}

One prevarication upon another, the Left’s contentions form an internally coherent argument that advances the enemy’s policy goal: to break Americans’ will to defend themselves, to retreat before al-Qaeda, and to give bin Laden his greatest propaganda victory since his allied dragged American bodies through the streets of Mogadishu 15 years ago.

That such falsehood substitutes for reasoned argumentation is an indictment of leftists’ reasoning capabilities; that it does so during a time of war, which many of those falsehoods’ progenitors voted to authorize, indicts their motives, judgment, and desire for self-preservation.

No doubt, liberalism is indeed the philosophy of the stupid.

When will Rep. John Murtha apologize?

A court martial on Wednesday acquitted a US Marine for his role in the deaths of 24 civilians in Haditha in Iraq in 2005, the sixth man to be exonerated in the affair. Prior to investigation or charges, Rep. John Murtha said publicly of the Marines at Haditha "they killed innocent civilians in cold blood." He has issued no apology for his statement. When will Rep. John Murtha apologize? When will the leftwing mainstream media report the facts instead of acting like elitist talking heads who are fortunate to get paid millions of dollars to spew their anti-American opinions? Via NewsBusters.org:

The same network newscasts that hyped the 2005 "alleged massacre" by U.S. soldiers in Haditha are so far ignoring the acquittal on all charges of Lieutenant Andrew Grayson on Thursday.

Grayson was accused of attempting to cover up details of the events surrounding a raid that lead to the death of 15 Iraqis. However, Grayson's acquittal was skipped by ABC's "Good Morning America," CBS's "Early Show" and NBC's "Today" show. (CNN's "American Morning" covered the story only as a news brief.)

In contrast, the morning shows seemed much more interested in the subject back when dark allegations were made about the actions of U.S. solders in Haditha. On Memorial Day 2006, then-GMA host Charles Gibson intoned, "America honors its fallen war heroes, but troubling new information about Marine misconduct in Iraq. A new eyewitness on what could be a mass murder of civilians. Was there a cover-up?" On the March 20, 2006, "Nightly News," host Brian Williams touted the "disturbing new allegations" made by Congressman John Murtha about Haditha. (It should be noted that, so far, five of the eight originally charged with murder or cover-up have been acquitted.)

On May 25, 2006, referencing the massacre of hundreds of Vietnamese civilians in 1968, "Nightline" host Terry Moran speculated, "Will Haditha be the My Lai of the Middle East?"

On June 7 of that year, reporter Andrea Mitchell opined on "Today" that Haditha was a "black eye for American policy."

Who is Peter B. Lewis ?

Time to re-think purchasing car insurance with Progressive. Excerpted from DiscoverTheNetworks:
Peter B. Lewis is the current Chairman (and former CEO) of the Progressive Insurance Company, which was co-founded in 1937 by his father, Joseph Lewis. According to Forbes magazine, Peter Lewis today possesses a fortune worth an estimated $1.1 billion. A strong supporter of the Democratic Party and its agendas, Lewis first became active in politics when he served as the Ohio finance chairman for George McGovern's 1972 presidential campaign. "I did it essentially because I hated Richard Nixon," Lewis recounts. Over the years, Lewis has used his immense wealth to fund a host of leftist political campaigns, organizations, and causes.

Lewis was born in 1933 and graduated from Princeton University in 1955. A decade later, he took the reins of Progressive Insurance. Overseeing 100 employees and $6 million in revenues when he began, Lewis eventually grew the company to the point where it employed 14,000 people and boasted sales in excess of $4.8 billion annually. Progressive is now the third largest auto insurance company in the U.S.

Lewis is particularly interested in promoting the legalization of marijuana. In 1998 he was a signatory to a public letter addressed to United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, declaring that “the global war on drugs is now causing more harm than drug abuse itself.”

Between 1991 and 2003, Lewis contributed $5 million to the American Civil Liberties Union's drug-policy litigation project, which challenges current laws dealing with drug testing in schools and the medicinal use of marijuana. He also made large donations to drug-legalization initiatives in Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon, Utah, Florida, Maine, and Massachusetts.

According to the anti-drug group, National Families in Action, Lewis has "contributed heavily to the destruction of thousands of America's children" by promoting the notion that marijuana possesses medicinal benefits and by telling youngsters that "pot is OK."

In 1999, Hoover's Handbook of American Business described Lewis in print as "a functioning pot-head." In 2000, Lewis was arrested after customs agents found 1.7 ounces of marijuana and two ounces of hashish in his luggage at an airport in New Zealand. The charges were dropped when the billionaire, who said he was carrying the drugs for "medicinal purposes," agreed to make a donation to a drug-rehabilitation center.

The reclusive Lewis does not grant interviews to the press and is rarely photographed. According to a Jane Mayer article in the New Yorker, Lewis “spent much of 2004 discreetly directing millions of dollars to liberal groups allied with the Democratic Party ... while cruising the Mediterranean Sea on his two-hundred-and-fifty foot yacht, Lone Ranger.”

During the 2004 election cycle, Lewis was the second leading donor to the non-party organizations known as “527s” -- named after a section of the U.S. tax code that permitted unlimited "soft money" donations to groups pledging to use the funds not for the "express advocacy" of any particular political candidate, but rather for "voter education," "issue-oriented" political advertising, and other nebulous enterprises. Lewis donated nearly $23 million to such organizations in 2004, including $16 million to the Joint Victory Campaign, $2.9 million to America Coming Together, and $2.5 million to Move On.Org.

In 2004 Lewis estimated that he had thus far given away some $250 million during his lifetime, nearly half of it ($117 million) to his alma mater, Princeton University.

Along with George Soros, Lewis is a key financial supporter of Democracy Alliance and Media Matters for America.

Lewis retired as the CEO of Progressive Insurance in 2000, but he remains the company's Chairman of the Board.

In February 2008, Lewis contributed money to the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. He is also a close friend of Democrat Senator Ted Kennedy.

Lewis' home in Coconut Grove, Florida is decorated with numerous Andy Warhol paintings of the late Communist dictator Mao Zedong.
George Soros funded MoveOn.org that created the ad which directly compared George W. Bush to Hitler and this nation’s policies with the Third Reich. George Soros loves to fund leftwing causes and groups. He supported the now convicted lawyer, Lynn Stewart, who aided Muslim terrorists. George Soros funds groups who oppose George Bush. He created the Open Society Policy Center, an organization that would obstruct U.S. law enforcement from prosecuting the "War on Extremism" and that would also direct illegal aliens into America's medical systems.

Somebody needs to give these leftwing rats a muzzle.

More on Mike Gravel

The self-proclaimed supporters of Mike Gravel, who himself is a morphed neo-Libertarian, are so much more Marxist than they would like to believe they are, when one reads their protests against Israel's right to defend herself against the Muslim attackers lurking on her borders. Clearly, none of Gravel's supporters who have posted their vitriolic comments on Smooth Stone's Wordpress site, believe in freedom for everyone, which makes them all out to be hypocritical slobs because they do not believe in freedom for Israeli Jews nor their right to self-determination. The Gravel freaks are yet another symptom of what is wrong with America. They are just another group of misguided sycophant sheep looking for their false messiah, most likely having previously fawned over the weirdo Ron Paul. More on Gravel, via Wikipedia:
Gravel has stated that he is an advocate for "a national, universal single-payer not-for-profit health care system" in the United States which would utilize vouchers and enable citizens to choose their own doctor. He has proposed to index veteran health care entitlements to take full account of increases in the costs of care and medicine. He supports a drug policy that legalizes and regulates all drugs, treating drug abuse as a medical issue, rather than a criminal matter. Gravel favors a guest worker program, supports the FairTax proposal that calls for eliminating the IRS and the income tax and replacing it with a progressive national sales tax of 23 percent on newly manufactured items and services, retaining progressivity via all taxes on spending up to the poverty level being refunded to every household.

Gravel has advocated that carbon energy should be taxed to provide the funding for a global effort to bring together the world's scientific and engineering communities to develop energy alternatives to significantly reduce the world’s energy dependence on carbon. Gravel in principle does not object to the use of embryonic stem cells for medical research purposes. He is avowedly pro-choice on the issue of abortion and women's reproductive rights. He supports constitutional amendments towards direct democracy.

Gravel's political leanings and convictions are also in his 1972 manifesto, Citizen Power: A People's Platform.

Barack Obama sacks Robert Malley over talks with Hamas

Barack Hussein Obama, in an act of political expediency, has asked his hand-picked foreign adviser, Robert Malley, to resign.

Robert Malley advocates negotiations with Hamas and providing international assistance to the terrorist group.Malley has written numerous opinion articles, many of them co-written with a former adviser to the mass murderer Yasser Arafat, petitioning for "dialogue" with Hamas and blasting Israel for harming "the Palestinian cause".Malley also wrote a an article in the NY Times blaming Israel for the collapse of the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations at Camp David in 2000, while ignoring the fact that Arafat turned down a Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza and eastern sections of Jerusalem and instead chose to launch a Muslim terrorist campaign against the legitimate and sovereign Jewish state.

Robert Malley told The Times that he had been in regular contact with Hamas, which controls Gaza and is listed by the US State Department as a terrorist organisation. Such talks, he stressed, were related to his work for a conflict resolution think-tank and had no connection with his position on Mr Obama’s Middle East advisory council.

Who is Mike Gravel? Don't ask

Good grief. The American political landscape has just gotten more anti-American.

I am shocked by the naivety with which Americans, supposedly educated people, are willing to entrust the destiny of the nation to three idiots: a post-menopausal power-hungry enraged woman, a "former" Muslim mulatto without any credentials, and a confounded old man with lots of anger issues. It looks like there will be a lot of surprises in the near future - and I mean bad ones. To make my point, now there's another American embarassment that is emerging in the race. A fourth presidential candidate is in the picture, aggressively distinguishing himself from his rivals as the candidate most eager to negotiate with terrorists, Mike Gravel.

Now before you get excited about having an alternative to the three vulgar goofballs I mentioned above, Mike Gravel is no better. He's out to injure the United States. Why? He's pro-Hamas. Via FrontPage:
A Massachusetts native who served in the Alaska House of Representatives from 1963-66 and in the U.S. Senate from 1969-81, Mike Gravel began his run for the White House as a Democrat but failed to gain any traction as such, thus he crossed over to the Libertarian line. Gravel’s previous claim to fame came in 1971 when he read, into the Senate record, some 4,100 pages of the “Pentagon Papers,” which Daniel Ellsberg initially had leaked to The New York Times in a move that unquestionably violated the Espionage Act’s explicit prohibition against the release of “any document … relating to the national defense which … could be used to the injury of the United States or to the advantage of any foreign nation.”

Today Gravel is again prepared to injure the United States, this time by working to prevent America’s strongest Middle Eastern ally, Israel, from being able to defend itself against the onslaught of its jihadist, genocidal neighbors. Specifically, Gravel has denounced what he terms “the Washington establishment” for having “condemned and criticized Jimmy Carter for his latest attempt to make the world a safer place” by “meeting with Khaled Meshal, the leader of Hamas.” In Gravel’s view, Carter “should be praised” for his “brave gambit” which aims to “jump-start the peace process.” “When will we Americans learn that the only way to achieve true security is through diplomacy and negotiation?” says Gravel. “... [T]he only way to break the cycle of violence is a negotiated settlement.”

“Carter’s critics,” Gravel adds, “don’t know much about Israel’s real security situation -- nor do they really care about it. All they want to do is please AIPAC [American Israel Public Affairs Committee] and hawkish members of the American Jewish community who don’t have to live under the daily threat of terrorism.”

Michigan Man Accused of Helping Saddam Set Up Pre-War Visit to Iraq by U.S. Lawmakers

Mark Levin reported the breaking news that an Iraqi-American, Muthanna Al-Hanooti, had been indicted as a spy. In addition, Al-Hanooti is accused of secretly funding the October 2002 pre-invasion trip to Iraq of three antiwar House Democrats, Congressmen Jim McDermott (D-WA), Mike Thompson (D-CA), and David E. Bonior (D-MI, now retired. Muthanna Al-Hanooti was given an offer that federal prosecutors say he couldn't refuse: Set up a trip for U.S. lawmakers to pre-war Iraq and earn 2 million barrels of Iraqi oil in return.

An indictment unsealed Wednesday in Detroit accuses Al-Hanooti, a member of a Michigan nonprofit group, of making those arrangements in 2002 at the behest of Saddam Hussein's regime. The deal allegedly was financed by Iraqi intelligence officials through an intermediary.

At the time, the Bush administration was trying to persuade Congress to authorize military action against Iraq. The three anti-war Democratic lawmakers apparently targeted by Al-Hanooti used their October 2002 trip to call for a diplomatic solution in Iraq.

Click here to read why any or all of the Congressmen could have easily learned, prior to their trip to Baghdad, the man funding them had a direct tie to Saddam Hussein’s murderous regime.

I must be doing something right

I must be doing something right.

Yesterday, the politically depraved Daily Kos linked here and called this site a right-wing swampland.

Today, the politically depraved Israel-bashing site PhilipWeiss [dot] org, edited by Philip Weiss who himself is a Jew, commanded his readers to praise anti Israel writers, like the Israel-bashing journalist Scott Wilson, who was dissected in my post here. Weiss calls Wilson "noble".

Jews who loathe themselves are deficient. Deficient Jews actually enjoy embracing palestinian arabs and other unevolved cultural groups because it makes them feel better about themselves. Why any human being - a Jew especially - could proclaim his support for an Islamic movement whose goal is to annihilate all the world's Jews, is hard to answer. It's shocking to the normal observer, this behavior, that a Jew could take such an anti-Israeli anti-Jewish position. That a Jew like Weiss would, seems all the more astounding - and attention-grabbing.

Philip Weiss says this about himself:
"I know that some Jewish readers will say, [I] care about the opinions of a Palestinian graduate student and an Irish atheist more than [I] do the opinion of [my] coreligionists. They are right."
Why are we right, Weiss? Why does Philip Weiss frame himself as a "progressive"? Why doesn't he just wear Elect Palestinian Arabs for President buttons? He should just be honest.

The substance of what Philip Weiss has to say - the conduct of Jews who despise their own people - spans the full spectrum of political depravity.

Paul Bogdanor says that:
There are anti-Zionist Jews who peddle vicious libels about Israel. There are anti-Zionist Jews who compare the Jewish state with Nazi Germany. There are anti-Zionist Jews who support the PLO, Hamas or Hizbullah. There are anti-Zionist Jews who collaborate with anti-Semites and Holocaust deniers. There are anti-Zionist Jews who defend suicide bombings, anti-Zionist Jews who support the destruction of Israel, and – incredibly – there are even anti-Zionist Jews who advocate measures against other Jews that could plausibly be described as genocidal.

It must be noted, with all due caution, that some anti-Zionists appear to harbor genocidal intentions toward their fellow Jews.

Decades ago Arie Bober, leader of the Israeli communist Matzpen party, boasted of his support for an "Arab revolution" that would either split the Jewish workers from Zionism or slaughter three million Israelis in "another Holocaust."

Today we can detect similar ideas in the writings of Norman Finkelstein, who has invoked the destruction of Japanese cities in World War II as precedent for holding the Israeli people "accountable for the crimes of the Israeli state"; he also regards hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlers, including pregnant women and helpless invalids, as "legitimate targets for armed resistance."

Competing in his genocidal frenzy was the Israeli leftist Yigal Tumarkin, a founder of Peace Now, who disclosed: "When I see the black-coated haredim with the children they spawn, I can understand the Holocaust."

And if these outpourings seem to be the products of deranged minds, let us not forget that even the impeccably liberal Tony Judt displays a striking indifference to the practical consequences of his proposals for the people of Israel. For Professor Judt, and for other advocates of the "one-state solution," it is perfectly acceptable to leave millions of Jews helpless before the armies and suicide bombers of the Middle East ("Things change"), just so long as faculty dinners and cocktail parties are no longer spoiled by the latest controversy over Israeli military tactics.

Such are the ideas exposed to the light of day in The Jewish Divide Over Israel. Our book's contributors – who range from left-wing supporters of Peace Now to right-wing advocates of peace through strength – are united around one principle: whatever their views on the future of Israel, they maintain that the Jewish homeland no more deserves to become a provisional country whose "right to exist" is the subject of legitimate discussion than the Jewish people deserve to be a pariah nation whose survival is conditional on the approval of anti-Semites.

In repudiating the Israel-haters in our ranks, we affirm not only our solidarity with embattled Israeli Jews, but also our own basic self-respect.
Deficient Jews have no self-respect. They are merely self-elected policeman, telling the rest of the world that "Islamic fundamentalism" is a reaction to various factors. Yet before all those factors existed, jihad terror existed. But of course, Weiss and his minions have no idea of that.

Apparently, self-loathing Jews are too busy berating Israel and Jews for defending themselves against "palestinians" to take much notice on how Muslims are reciting from the Koran to justify their murder of "infidels" all around the world.

Currently there are 30 conflicts around the world and 25 of them involve Muslims. If anything, that fact alone deconstructs all other mythologies - for example, "occupation" - as the root cause of Muslim terrorism.

It is time that self-loathing deficient Jews learned that real Jews reject the politics of leftwingers. We reject their views on immigration, culture, religion, ideology, law enforcement, and military strategy.

Self-loathing Jews do not take their proper place in the family of nations. Instead, they will be like hyena, scurrying off into the brush with their tails between their legs, because their apathy and self-loathing placed their fellow Jews into a dangerous, self-imposed ghetto, surrounded by 23 nations of Islamic theocracies and brutal dictatorships, run by racist madmen.

Ron Kuby, Daniel Barenboim, Deborah Fink, Adam Shapiro, George Soros, Stanley Cohen, "Rabbi" David Weiss, are just a sampling of self-loathing Jews especially when it comes to their acknowledgement and pride in being Jewish. Just Google each of them and read what each says about Israel and Jews.

Manfred Gerstenfeld at The Jewish Center for Public Affairs writes:
Anti-Jewish attacks on Israel by Jews are frequently indistinguishable from those by non-Jews. Among the specific aspects in the anti-Israel writings of some Jews are the use of their family's Holocaust experiences, their references to being Jewish, or an association of some kind with Israel. Assaults on Israel and Jews by non-Jews often use statements from Israeli or diaspora Jewish defamers as a legitimization. In order to fight verbal attacks against Israel by Jews more effectively, a much better understanding of their background, motives, and methods is required.
Much of the Jewish world is ignorant of their precious heritage. The results are catastrophic: apathy, shame and self-loathing. If this is indeed a Jewish problem then the siege upon us will not be lifted until we as Jews acknowledge our rightful place in history and correct the mistakes we have made by denying them.

Juan Cole Peddles Hamas Propaganda

Know your enemies, folks. More crap from the palestiniast Juan Cole. From Front Page Magazine:
When it comes to off-the-wall commentary on the Middle East conflict, University of Michigan history professor Juan Cole is the gift that keeps on giving. If there's anti-Israel propaganda to be found, one can be sure Cole will be peddling it at his ironically named blog, Informed Comment. His labeling of Gaza in September, 2007 as "the worst outcome of Western colonialism anywhere in the world outside the Belgian Congo" is a case in point.

As noted by Noah Pollack at Contentions, Cole's latest blog ramblings ratchet up the hysteria another notch. Not content with alleging persecution of the self-defeating Palestinians, Cole has now decided to crown them with the martyrdom of slavery.

But Cole's feverish imaginings don't end there. In a later blog post, he waxes poetic about:
The humanitarian impact of Israel's electricity blockade of the Gaza Strip. Raw sewage in the streets, which will soon seep into houses; asthmatics choking; hospitals on the verge of switching off life support.
So, on top of "atrocities," "war crimes, and "slavery," Israel now stands accused of killing asthmatics and newborns? Will the madness never end? Not if Middle East studies "experts" such as Juan Cole have anything to say about it.

Three years ago today

On this day in WND history, Matt Lauer lost his mind:
In an interview with second lady Lynne Cheney, the "Today Show's" Matt Lauer equated the Islamic radicals in Fallujah terrorizing Iraq with George Washington's Revolutionary War army.

When the vice president's wife rebuffed Lauer for equating Washington's troops with the radical Muslim terrorists then clarified his line of questioning, he came back: "I'm just saying, but the insurgents believe they're fighting for a cause as well. They don't believe any less than we believe."

"Well, but Matt, you're being awfully relativistic here, "Cheney answered. "I mean, the insurgents are killing Iraqis by the hundreds, Iraqis by the thousands. It's not as though this is a matter between just 'on the one hand on the other hand.' We are on the side of freedom. I think that idea is so powerful and does give us wind at our back."

Hollywood's adoration of evil

I don't know when society collapsed but I believe it happened soon after William "BJ" Clinton became president. I was just reading my email when I came across this article and read the following:
Gunmen opened fire on students returning from a march Wednesday in which 80,000 people denounced President Hugo Chavez's attempts to expand his power. At least eight people were injured, including one by gunfire, officials said.
Danny Glover, Naomi Campbell, Oliver Stone and Sean Penn are just some of the Hollywood freaks who have publically pronounced their adoration of the dictator Hugo Chavez. Each went to Venezuela to visit with him and lick his toes. Where are those filthy elitist bastards now? They're probably hidden away in their villas and chateaus, nervously googling their names to determine their latest ebb in popularity. Why are they silent now? Venezuelans are getting shot at because they have the courage to pronounce the malevelence of Hugo Chavez, but Hollywood's elitist bastards are curiously silent now that they have been publically attested to hunching the legs of the Venezuelan dictator. What pathetic hypocritical American subversives, every one of them, for being too cowardly to come out and speak out against that which they just recently idolized.

God Hates Fags loses court case

Folks, I don't know if any of you have heard of or have been following the detestable slime trail of the psychologically demented cult, God Hates Fags, whose mentally impaired members stalk funerals of American soldiers and torment the grieving and mourning family while waving placards with spray-painted sayings like "God Hates Fags", "God Hates the USA", "Thank God for Sept 11", "Thank God for IEDs", etc.

Well, the scumbag who heads this group is Fred Phelps and he is supported by his daughter, Shirley Phelps, a lawyer, also known as Shirley Phelps-Roper. Check out her tormented face here.

Well, it's payback time for the Phelps family, and I couldn't be more delighted. See, after years of tormenting families, a grieving father, Albert Snyder, sued for unspecified damages after God Hates Fags showed up at the March 2006 funeral of his son, Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder with their signs, and the filthy, demented, racist, thuggish, sheep-humping Phelps family has been ordered to pay $2.9 million to Albert Snyder.

The Gods Hates Fags groups is so slimy and of such ill-repute that their despicable behavior has prompted several states to pass laws regarding funeral protests and Congress has passed a law prohibiting such protests at federal cemeteries.

Can you believe that anyone would behave this way? No? Then, try this video on for size.

Here's more pictures of the cult God Hates Fags whose deplorable behavior is surpassed only by Muslim homicide bomber barbarians who blow up toddlers in strollers, men and women working in overseas embassies, and 3,000 people in their office buildings, also in the name of some man-god and German nazi fascist pigs who lusted after Jewish blood no matter how they were going to get it.

Fred Phelps, I can't wait to read your obituary. And Shirley Phelps-Roper - I hope, at minimum, that your tubes are now tied so that you won't further infect the next generation's gene pool with your diseased zygotes. And if you feel like blowing your brains out one day, go right ahead, you twisted bitch, we won't miss you one bit.

Yes, there is no doubt, that you Shirley Phelps and your sick father, Fred Phelps, are members of the most hated family in America.

No Convictions in Trial Against Muslim Charity

The character and resolve of the American patriot, witnessed at its apex during WWII, is efficiently being whittled away by the left, who refuses to see Islam as the enemy, who refuses to identify Islam's adherents as the pepertrators of the attacks on 9/11, who refuses to see them as the perpertrators of the bombing of the USS Cole and the bombings of the American embassies in Africa, and who refuses to see them as the murderers of the passengers on Pan Am Flight 103. The left is succeeding in re-writing history. Who will you believe? And Texas, one of the greatest states in the union? You should be ashamed of yourself. From No Convictions in Trial Against Muslim Charity:
A deadlocked federal jury in Dallas did not convict any leaders of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development who were charged with supporting Middle Eastern terrorists, and the judge Monday declared a mistrial in what has been widely viewed as the government’s flagship terror-financing case. The jury acquitted one of the five defendants on all but one charge, on which it deadlocked. A majority of the jurors also appeared ready to acquit two other defendants of most charges, and could not reach a verdict on charges against the two principal organizers and the foundation itself, which had been the largest Muslim charity in the U.S. until the government froze its assets in 2001.

Ameican TV and Movie Propaganda which favors Islam

Received by email:
There seem to be an ever increasing number of politically correct movies produced in the last ten or so years which want to convince us that the U.S. government is terrible, Americans are racist and that Muslims are misunderstood. I refuse to see any of these movies on principle, but I see the previews and read the reviews.

A new one is called "Rendition" and in all fairness, I haven't seen it. But the preview shows a distraught American woman whose Muslim husband disappears; it seems he has been arrested and presumably taken to Guantanamo. She can't get information about where he is and what happened. The American government is portrayed as bad because they won't tell this poor woman what happened to her husband, and I guess we're supposed to sympathize with this nice-looking American woman. But this is certainly not the first movie like this. One of the worst is a recent Turkish movie, Valley of the Wolves, but with two American actors in which Americans kill innocent people in Iraq and a Jewish doctor at Abu Graib cuts out the organs of Muslims.

American movies today cannot have a Muslim acting as a terrorist, so the villains are, for example, corporate America, as in the 2004 remake of "The Manchurian Candidate". In the original Manchurian Candidate in the 60's the villains were Communists. The logical villains these days would seem to be Islamist terrorists, but that would be politically incorrect, and no doubt, the producers would be called "racists".

Now the same trend is beginning with TV shows. A fall 2007 sitcom called "Aliens in America" tries hard to convince us that Muslims are good peaceful people and any idea to the contrary is due to our own prejudices. I watched the pilot in which an American family, the parents of which are portrayed as rednecks and bigots, decide to take in an exchange student but freak out when they find out he's Muslim. The mother is upset that the boy has her own son praying to Mecca ( I would be too). The Muslim teenager is portrayed as a sweet, loveable boy and wiser than anyone in the American family. At the end of the pilot the family decides to keep the boy, feeling sorry for him because his parents died. This show was even worse than I imagined. I haven't watched it since but saw a scene from one show in which the Muslim boy is buying dangerous materials in a store and the store clerk runs off worried. I'm sure we are supposed to think how racist the clerk is to make any negative assumptions. This show seems really dangerous to me, insidious. Little by little, we will get used to sweet Muslim characters who have good reasons for buying dangerous materials that could be used for a bomb or getting our children to pray to Mecca. I think we should be very suspicious.

Please don't watch this show. In fact, write the CW channel and ask them to take it off the air.

What is Birthright Unplugged?

I'm sickened by the deceit of the anti-Israel group, Birthright Unplugged, whose mission it is to deny the facts that 1) Israel was restored to the indigenous Jewish people as a legitimate and sovereign nation with the imprimatur of the United Nations and 2) has been a member of the world body since 1949.

Birthright Unplugged is an anti-Israel group which partners with a number of radical NGOs, some of which receive EU funding, in order to advance an extreme anti-Israel narrative via its “alternative” tours. The groups meet with officials from the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), ICHAD, and Allegra Pacheco (an American Jew) from UN OCHA; and receive materials from the PLO Negotiations Affairs Department, and Badil.

The goal is to deny the legitimacy of Israel and of “the concept of a birthright for Jewish people in this land that Palestinians were displaced from."

On this basis, Birthright Unplugged prepares the small number of participants as “Palestinian solidarity” activists and to promote boycotts and demonization in the media, universities and other venues.

Birthright Unplugged was founded in 2003 by Dunya Alwan and Hannah Mermelstein (Also Jewish, Hannah is too much of a she-coward to allow comments on her blog), two American citizens and members of the International Women's Peace Service (IWPS), a West Bank-based NGO which collaborates with Christian Peacemaker Teams and the radical International Solidarity Movement (ISM). Mermelstein also serves on the Board of Advisers of the Deir Yassin Remembered organization, which describes Israel in their literature as a "Zionist colonization" project functioning under "apartheid conditions."

Birthright Unplugged runs what it calls "alternative" tours of Palestinian areas, which according to its website, "are designed primarily for Jewish people, though we welcome people of all backgrounds." The program and itinerary includes meetings with officials of radical Israeli and Palestinian NGOs, designed to expose participants to a narrative that denies any Jewish historical connection to the land of Israel, rejects the legitimacy of the establishment of the State of Israel, and supports the Palestinian "right of return" -- a highly contentious position and a major obstacle to compromise.

The concept behind Birthright Unplugged can be traced to the IWPS 2003-2004 "Mikarov Program," which described itself as "a ten-day intensive workshop for Israelis in the West Bank". This activity included collaboration with the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD), Machsom Watch, and the Holy Land Trust. According to IWPS's website, the goal of the project was to recruit and train “Palestinian solidarity” activists.

According to its website, Birthright Unplugged "is funded largely by private donations from American Jews," with some funding from the Rachel Corrie Foundation and the A.J. Muste Memorial Institute (an American foundation which provides a channel for tax deductible donations to the International Solidarity Movement). For most of its operational budget, the organization relies on personal donations from the participants, who are asked pay US$350-500, depending on their personal financial resources. Birthright Unplugged encourages participants to fundraise independently to defer these costs and to contribute additional money to the organization, offering a model "fundraising letter" on its website.

Please note that in March 2003 Israeli troops captured a senior Islamic Jihad member hiding in an ISM office in Jenin.

A message for Hannah Mermelstein and Allegra Pacheco: no one will ever say kaddish for you because you are two detestable loathesome betrayors of your own people. May G-d show you no mercy for the Jewish blood you both have on your hands.

For more information on groups who only thrive to promote the deaths of Jews, see NGO Monitor.

Who is Eric Foner?

Eric Foner is proof that liberalism is a disease. Who is Eric Foner? Someone whom you hope your own son doesn't grow up to be. Via Discover The Networks:
-- Communist apologist and professor of history at Columbia University

-- Of 9/11 and the Bush administration’s response, Foner stated, “I’m not sure which is more frightening: the horror that engulfed New York City or the apocalyptic rhetoric emanating daily from the [Bush] White House.”

-- Nephew of Communist Party labor historian Philip Foner and Communist SEIU organizer Moe Foner

Born in February 1943 in New York City, Columbia University history professor Eric Foner is widely considered one of the foremost professionals in his field. He is a former President of both professional historical associations and is regarded as academia's leading expert on the Reconstruction period, the tumultuous era that followed the Civil War. Professor Foner was raised in a notable Communist family. His uncle Philip Foner was the Communist Party’s official labor historian. Another uncle, Moe Foner, was a Communist labor activist with the Service Employees International Union.

Eric Foner was an anti-American 1960s radical, and as a historian is an apologist for American Communism. On October 4, 2001 he contributed to a London Review of Books symposium of reactions to the 9/11 atrocity. In that piece, Foner focused not on the attack itself but on what he perceived to be the threat of an American response:
“I write this in an ominous lull between the talk of vengeance and vengeance itself. The moment any such retribution is sought with bombs and guns will be the moment for the mobilisation of anti-war forces all over the world … [Terror] merely enhances and exaggerates the feeling among exploited people that the matter of protest has to be left to a few martyrs. And just as the signs were growing of a renewed confidence in the world anti-capitalist movement, the attention of the world’s leaders is focused on a single, dreadful act that gives them the excuse they need to gun the engines of oppression.”
Of the Bush administration’s response to 9/11, Foner stated, “I’m not sure which is more frightening: the horror that engulfed New York City or the apocalyptic rhetoric emanating daily from the White House.”

In March 2003, as American forces entered Iraq to overthrow the Saddam Hussein dictatorship, Professor Foner participated in an anti-war “teach in” at Columbia University, where he invoked Communist Party icon Paul Robeson as a model of patriotism. “I refuse to cede the definition of American patriotism to George W. Bush,” Foner declared. “I have a different definition of patriotism, which comes from Paul Robeson: ‘The patriot is the person who is never satisfied with his country.’” (Foner had been preceded on the podium by fellow Columbia professor Nicholas De Genova.)

In Professor Foner’s view, foreign hostility toward the United States is warranted by America’s historical record. “A study of our history in its international context,” he wrote in a September 2002 editorial in The Nation, “might help to explain why there is widespread fear outside our borders that the war on terrorism is motivated in part by the desire to impose a Pax Americana in a grossly unequal world.” Rather than dwelling on the Islamist persuasion of the 9/11 attackers, Foner called for Americans to bear in mind that “our society has produced its own home-grown terrorists.”

In a September 2004 article for the History News Network, Foner wrote that anti-U.S. sentiment was “based primarily on American policies -- toward Israel, the Palestinians, oil supplies, the region’s corrupt and authoritarian regimes, and, most recently, Iraq.” Nor were citizens living under the yoke of oppressive governments less free than those enjoying the freedoms of Western civilization, said Foner. Instead, he claimed, they “have their own historically developed definitions of freedom and ways of thinking about the social order, which may not exactly match ours.” Foner even suggested that they may be more free, spared as they are the “profoundly destabilizing” aspects of the free market. Besides, Foner added, American freedoms had been “significantly weakened since the September 11 attacks.”

In a lengthy review of Professor Foner’s academic work, the liberal intellectual historian John Diggins wrote, “Foner … is both an unabashed apologist for the Soviet system and an unforgiving historian of America.” Foner’s 1999 history of the United States, The Story of American Freedom, was caustically dismissed by historian Theodore Draper, who called it a work more accurately described as “the story of unfreedom.” Writing in the New York Review of Books, Draper characterized Foner as “a partisan of radical sects and opinions” seeking “to rehabilitate American Communism.” “From [Foner’s] account,” wrote Draper, “it would be hard to understand why so many millions of immigrants should have come to the United States for more freedom.”
