Douglas Murray is a brilliant British writer and advocate for truth and justice. Being very effective at what he does he has been branded an enemy of British Muslims who want to impose Sharia Law on British society.

Murray has established a record of being willing to debate his opponents in public forums. You may remember that he partnered with Daniel Pipes in a debate with then London Mayor and Sharia apologist Ken Livingstone and a Muslim partner. So when he received an invitation to attend London's Islamic Expo which is sponsored by Muslim Brotherhood types he accepted (even though the deck was sacked against him.)

Now Murray has decided to withdraw because some of the Muslims involved in the Expo are trying to shut down a blog Harry's Place that has reported the truth about the radical Muslim community in the United Kingdom. They are using the British courts to silence their critics. You can help defend Harry's place here.

In an open letter, Murray says he is withdrawing from participation because of his commitment to freedom of speech. He has made the right the decision. His participation would have been used by the Muslims as proof that they are not biased because they hosted a critic like Murray.

Keep your eye on Murray, he is a star whose impact will only get greater as more and more people learn about him and his body of work.

UN Declares Islamic Shari'a Taboo

This is stunning and quite good news. This article excerpted below is evidence of the United Nations' redirection away from its typical penchant to lean towards Muslimania. This is good for all of us, for all of civilization. From UN Watch:

From now on, all references to human rights violations related to Islamic Shar’ia law are prohibited in the chamber of the UN Human Rights Council. So ruled council president Doru Costea after a dramatic debate in the recently concluded June session.

It all started when veteran rights activist David Littman -- undaunted by the repressive regimes who only last month sought to expel him from the UN -- tried to deliver a speech on violence against women and what Islamic scholars can do to prevent it.

Egypt's Amr Roshdy Hassan repeatedly interrupted, aggressively challenging the council president: “Regardless of the result of the vote — I couldn’t care less if I will win or lose this vote — my point is that Islam will not be crucified in this council!”

The president ultimately gave in, declaring:

“Statements should refrain from making judgments or evaluations of a particular
religion. . . I can promise that at the next evaluation of a religious creed,
law, or document, I will interrupt the speaker and we’ll go on to the next one.”

The new ruling follows an Islamic-sponsored text adopted by the council in March that turned its mandate on freedom of expression upside down. Instead of investigating the actions of governments in order to protect individual freedom, the expert is now charged with investigating individuals -- those who "abuse" their freedom of speech through religious or racial discrimination, i.e., by saying anything deemed offensive to Islamic sensibilities. Everyone in the world is now potentially subject to the UN's new speech control.

What does all of this signify?

An iron curtain has descended across the world's highest human rights body. Behind that line lie all the human rights violations committed in the name of a certain religion, about which no one dare speak: suicide terror attacks, honor killings, female genital mutilation, forced child marriage, violence against gays, stonings, state censorship of free speech, jailing of bloggers, prohibitions against freedom of religion, and much, much more.

UN officials, diplomats and even major human rights figures have been afraid to take on this new regime, which now exercises an almost total control over the Human Rights Council, as well as increasing measures of influence over other forums of world opinion.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil," said Edmund Burke, "is that good men do nothing."

Would that more people showed the courage of Mr. Littman.

Shari'a totalitarianism is coming to your neighborhood

With no thanks to American liberals and those who pander to islam, with no thanks to arabists and palestiniasts who look at Jews as second-class world citizens, with no thanks to those who have forgotten the 3,000 who were murdered on 9-11 by Muslim barbarians, with no thanks to the Jew-haters at DailyKos and the stooges at Huffington Post, with no thanks to the detestable Jews of Neturei Karta and left-wing rabbis and their foolish congregations, with no thanks to Leslie Cagan, Peace Now, Adam Shapiro, Ron Kuby, Sheldon Cohen and other self-loathing Jews, America has gone soft on Islam's inherent terrorist and political ideology. Now that the climate has been set, shari‘a is coming at the West every which way, from economic institutions to hotels, from harems to law courts, no-go areas to no-freedom of speech codes. What American will have the courage to resist this cancer and eradicate it?

How do you solve a problem like Sharia?

Some weeks ago, Front Page Magazine's sterling interviewer, Jamie Glazov, interviewed Hasan Mahmud, the Director of Sharia Law of the Muslim Canadian Congress. Mahmud played a vital role in the successful movement against the Toronto Sharia Court which was banned in 2003 when the Ontario Government enacted a law banning all faith-courts. He has authored books, debates, 2 docu-dramas and a documentary on Sharia. He has also spoken on Sharia in various conferences in Europe and North America.

Glazov started the interview with Mahmud and asked a very good, leading question:

You are a Muslim and not a very great fan of Sharia. Tell us why.

Mahmud:

Because as a Muslim I want good for all humanity and because I have seen what
Sharia contains and does to our women and non-Muslims. Human rights are more
divine than scriptures and are not negotiable even in the name of God. Human
rights are not to pass the test of scriptures; it is scriptures that have to pass the litmus test of human rights. Sharia fails there miserably, Muslim women are primary victims of Sharia, how can I be its fan? After all, people’s faith, life, right and dignity are not anybody’s toy to play with.

Examples of laws prove what Sharia actually is. Here is one from Law #344 of Codified Islamic Law Vol 1 – “Witness for a husband is not a condition to divorce his wife”. This law violates Sura Twalak verse 2 of the Qur’an that instructs to keep two witnesses of divorce. Another example is Law #914 C from Codified Islamic Law Vol 3 - Head of Islamic State cannot be charged for Hudood cases (murder, theft, robbery, adultery, drinking etc.). The same law is in Hanafi Law page 188 too. As a Muslim how can I not protest this is violation of justice?

Can you imagine more than three thousand raped women were in prison for “illicit sex” for ten to fifteen years by Pakistan’s Hudood (Sharia) Ordinance #7 of 1979 amended by Law #20 of 1980 that says proof of adultery and (emphasis mine) rape is confession of the accused or eye-witness of four male adult Muslims (the women could not prove rapes by this “proof”)? Can you imagine an Iranian woman appealing to the Sharia court to order her husband to beat her not everyday but once a week? Can you imagine many minor raped girls are publicly beaten by shoes and whips in Bangladesh by decree of informal Sharia Courts? Can you imagine hundreds of such cruelty is regularly reported in Muslim world but not a single of the world’s top Sharia-Bolsheviks is known to protest effectively?

It is shocking to see tons of such unjust laws established as Allah’s Law. It is shocking to see most of Sharia-supporters never read the laws and most of Sharia-leaders speak and write of justice but never show the laws. There was never any empirical study on the impact of Sharia on non-Muslims and Muslim women (more than half of world-Muslims), nor were they consulted to frame these laws. There is not a
single female Sharia-Imam in Muslim history. The result was predictable. Sharia
emerged not as a benign law book but malignant inspiration of creating a global
Islami State which is diametrically opposite to the Islamic faith system. The
West must realize any Sharia-supporter not only has to believe in a global Islamic state but also try for it. Supported by powerful, resourceful and cunning players it conquered most of Muslim-majority countries and now poses the deadliest cultural threat human civilization ever faced. The now defunct Canadian Sharia Court was its pinnacle of success in West. How many Americans know that the blueprint of American Sharia Court was created as early as in 1991by TAM (The American Muslims)?

Lest we forget the speed of a caravan is the speed of its weakest camel. Muslims will never progress if Muslims women don’t. On the other hand human civilization cannot progress if Muslims don’t.
