Ahmadinejad and the Dawning of Messianic Times

It is one thing to study eschatology; it is another to be so convinced that you, yourself, will be the personality that it centers around. From Ahmadinejad and the Dawning of Messianic Times:

Since the late ninth century, the Shi'ites have been expecting the emergence of the hidden imam-mahdi, armed with divine power and followed by thousands of martyrdom-seeking warriors. He is expected to conquer the world and establish Shi'ism as its supreme religion and system of rule. His appearance would involve terrible war and unusual bloodshed.

Ahmadinejad, as mayor of Tehran, built a spectacular boulevard through which the mahdi would enter into the capital. There is no question that Ahmadinejad believes he has been chosen to be the herald of the mahdi.

Shi'ite Islam differs from Sunni Islam regarding the identity of the mahdi. The Sunni mahdi is essentially an anonymous figure; the Shi'ite mahdi is a divinely inspired person with a real identity.

However, both Shi'ites and Sunnis share one particular detail about "the coming of the hour" and the dawning of messianic times: The Jews must all suffer a violent death, to the last one.

The Doctrine of Mahdism

From The Doctrine of Mahdism:
According to Shi'ite tradition, the Twelve Imams, descendants of the Prophet Muhammad's cousin and son-in-law Ali Ibn Abi Talib, were endowed with divine qualities that enabled them to lead the Shi'ite believers and to function as Allah's emissaries on earth. However, when the Twelfth Imam, Muhammad Al-Mahdi, disappeared in 941 CE, his connection with the Shi'ite believers was severed, and since then, the Shi'ites are commanded to await his return at any time.

Immediately upon assuming the Iranian presidency, Ahmadinejad began to assert his belief in the imminent return of the Mahdi as the basis for his political activities. Despite the traditional belief that no one can foresee the hour of the Mahdi's return, Ahmadinejad frequently stated that his coming was nigh, and even gave a more specific prediction. During a meeting with the foreign minister of an Islamic country, he said that the crisis in Iran "presaged the coming of the Hidden Imam, who would appear within the next two years."

The messianic doctrine of Mahdism is also manifest in Iranian foreign policy, especially in its attitude toward the Western superpowers and toward the nuclear program. Ayatollah Mesbah-e Yazdi, mentor to Ahmadinejad, expressed this approach in an October 11, 2006 speech: "The greatest obligation of those awaiting the appearance of the Mahdi is fighting heresy and global arrogance [i.e., the West, primarily the U.S.]." Ahmadinejad and his close circle do not avoid confronting the West, since they consider this struggle to be one of the ways to prepare the ground for the return of the Mahdi.

The Implications of a Nuclear Iran

From The Implications of a Nuclear Iran:

Iranian President Ahmadinejad belongs to a school of thought which believes that the return of the Shiite messiah - the Mahdi - is supposed to happen very soon. Ahmadinejad believes he has a divine role in making this arrival concrete in our lifetime, maybe even within a few years.

Iran's aspiration is to build a Shiite- or Iran-dominated belt from Afghanistan to the Mediterranean. Iran is meddling in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Lebanon. In addition, Iran has its eye on the oil wealth of the Persian Gulf, and the Gulf states are scared.

Tehran pays 100 percent of the Islamic Jihad budget and gives a bonus for every Israeli murdered. In addition, through Hizbullah Iran pays the Al Aqsa Brigade, which belongs to Fatah in name only.

Iran imports 40 percent of its consumption of refined oil products. An embargo on gasoline could create a very serious problem for the regime. In addition, Iran is dependent on the flow of
money and credit from Europe, which could be severed.

While Israel may be the first victim on Iran's list, it won't be the last. The ideology of the Iranian regime despises the entire culture which Europe and Israel share.

The Iranian people would prefer a different regime, but they do not see a glimmer of support from outside. The international community is evasive and aversive to confrontation with the regime. The people see that the Western democracies prefer to court the regime rather than confront it.

Anti-Semitism and Islam

So you think Islamo-rage is merely a recent event which can be blamed on Israel being restored as a sovereign nation "on Arab soil" in 1948? Think again. An excerpt on the millenia-old history of anti-Semitism and Islam, from FrontPage, with bibliographical references to follow:

Unfortunately, hatred of Jews runs much longer than a century or so into the past. In fact, it originates not only in the actions of the founder of Islam himself, but also in the eschatological belief-system of the world’s second-largest religion.

In 622 CE the nascent Muslim community under Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, left Mecca in Arabia and headed north to the city of Yathrib. Part forced emigration, part prearranged political move, this hijrah not only marked the beginning of the Muslim calendar but the transition of the Muslims from oppressed minority to ruling majority. The newly-renamed Madinat al-Nabi, “city of the prophet,” became—in its shortened form, Madinah—the capital of an expanding religious, political and military movement that would encompass the entire Arabian peninsula, including Mecca itself, within eight years and then, of course, after another century conquer lands from Iberia to the borders of India.

In the process of the Islamization of Arabia, and a few years before Mecca fell to the Muslims in 630, a paradigm of Muslim-Jewish conflict was established.[2] Several of the tribes of Madinah were Jewish, and refused to accept the prophethood of Muhammad. In fact the leaders of one tribe, the Banu Qurayzah, were reported to have been plotting to have Muhammad killed. After some negotiations and inter-tribal machinations—which included, portentously, Muhammad branding the Qurayzah “brothers of monkeys”[3]—Muhammad allowed “one of [their] own number,” one Sa`d bin Mu’adh, to pronounce judgment on them. His verdict: “the men should be killed, the property divided, and the women and children taken as captives.” The narrative continues:

Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina…and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches….There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900….This went on until the apostle made an end of them.[…] Then the apostle divided the property, wives, and children of B. Qurayza among the Muslims….[4]
Now, this was a brutal time and a brutal society, in many ways. And in his treatment of “unbelievers” Muhammad is not unlike some of the divinely-sanctioned rulers in the Hebrew Scriptures, such as Joshua or David. (He is, however, most unlike the Jesus of the New Testament.) Nonetheless, there is no getting around the fact that the man whom Muslims believe to have been God’s last spokesman on Earth not only denigrated, but ordered the slaughter of, his fellow monotheists—and this long before Theodore Herzl, David Ben-Gurion or Ariel Sharon ever existed.

This pattern set by God’s prophet is particularly influential upon the jihadist wing of world Islam, for whom the example of the early Islamic community is supremely normative. However, there is a powerful eschatological motif in Islam which also contributes immensely to the acrimony that too many Muslims, even non-jihadist, feel towards the Jews: that of al-Dajjal.

The Dajjal, or “The Deceiver,” is one of five major end times actors according to Islamic teachings, and the chief embodiment of evil.[5] In the anti-God camp with him will be the rapacious hordes of Yajuj and Majuj,[6] as well as al-Dabbah, the “Beast.”[7] Opposing these
will be the returned `Isa, or Jesus,[8] and al-Mahdi, the “rightly-guided one.” Jesus, Yajaj and Majuj, and the Dabbah have both Qur’anic and hadith sourcing (hadiths are extra-Qur’anic sayings attributed to Muhammad); however, the Dajjal and the Mahdi appear nowhere in the Qur’an, but only in hadiths—curious, considering that in many ways they are the two most important eschatological figures in Islam.[9]

[9] And in fact even there the Dajjal is more legitimately sourced than his counterpart the Mahdi, because the former is mentioned not only in dozens of hadiths but in the two most authoritative collections—those of al-Bukhari and Muslim. The Mahdi—about whom I have written extensively in my book Holiest Wars: Islamic Mahdis, their Jihads and Osama bin Laden— shows up only in lesser collections, such as those of Abu Da’ud, al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah, a fact which has done very little to diminish belief in the Mahdi in any phase of history, including our own.

Palestinian Muslim Bloodsports

Folks, when a Muslim kills a Jew, it's legal, but when a Muslim kills a Muslim, it's illegal. Clearly, identity politics are at work here, and not morality nor ethics. Extracted from FoxNews:

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday declared Hamas' paramilitary militia in the Gaza Strip illegal, raising the stakes in his standoff with the Islamic movement that controls the Palestinian parliament and Interior Ministry.

Hamas retaliated by saying it would double the size of the Hamas militia in the Gaza Strip.

Interior Ministry spokesman Khaled Abu Hilal said the unit would be doubled to 12,000 members. He said Interior Minister Said Siyam made the decision "in view of the ongoing security deterioration."

Abbas' announcement came two days after members of the Hamas force attacked the home of a senior security commander in Gaza, killing the man and seven of his bodyguards. The man was a member of the Preventive Security force, which is loyal to Abbas' Fatah party.

In retaliation, gunmen attacked Hamas officials in two separate incidents in the West Bank on Saturday.

In the first incident, gunmen stopped the car of Nablus' deputy mayor, Mahdi al-Khamdali, pulled him out and took him away in a separate car, security officials said. Al-Khamdali is a member of Hamas. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the officials said they believed the kidnappers were supporters of the rival Fatah group.

Meanwhile, a local Muslim leader who was a frequent critic of the Islamic militant group Hamas was killed in a drive-by shooting Friday as he walked out of a Gaza mosque, witnesses and medical officials said as violence seemed to be spiraling out control in the area.

There was no claim of responsibility in the death of Adel Nasar, who was shot by gunmen who were waiting in a car outside the mosque in the Mughazi refugee camp in central Gaza. Nasar was not openly affiliated with any political party, but he was a well-known in the refugee camp and often spoke against Hamas in his sermons.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah and Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas met early Friday in Gaza and agreed to work to defuse the tensions and pull back their forces, Haniyeh told reporters. "We are going to end all armed displays in the streets," he said. Abbas had no comment.

The body of Col. Mohammed Ghayeb, chief of the Preventive Security Service in northern Gaza, riddled with bullets and mutilated by stab wounds, was found in his home in northern Gaza Thursday after a daylong battle with Hamas gunmen. The killing of the senior officer was likely to spark reprisal raids.

In several places in the West Bank late Thursday, Fatah militants attacked Hamas offices and vehicles. One Hamas activist was wounded, Palestinian security officials said.

Ghayeb was on the phone to Palestine TV just moments before his death and appealed for help as his house came under attack. "They are killers," he said of the Hamas gunmen. "They are targeting the house, children are dying, they are bleeding. For God's sake, send an ambulance, we want an ambulance, somebody move."

Iran website heralding 'Mahdi' by springtime

From WND: An official state media website in Iran has posted a message heralding the coming of the Shiite messianic figure, Imam Mahdi, noting he could arrive by the spring equinox.

"Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) will appear all of a sudden on the world scene with a voice from the skies announcing his reappearance at the holy Ka'ba in Mecca," the message says.

The Islamic Republic of Iran broadcasting website said in a program called "The World toward Illumination," that the Mahdi will form an army to defeat the enemies of Islam in a series of apocalyptic battles, in which the Mahdi will overcome his archvillain in Jerusalem.

The Iranian series also claims the Mahdi will reappear on Earth with Jesus: "We read in the book Tazkarat ol-Olia, 'the Mahdi will come with Jesus son of Mary accompanying him.' ... Imam Mahdi will be the leader while Prophet Jesus will act as his lieutenant in the struggle against oppression and establishment of justice in the world. Jesus had himself given the tidings of the coming of God's last messenger and will see Mohammad's ideals materialize in the time of the Mahdi."

Awaiting the Iranian Messiah

From Awaiting the Iranian Messiah:

  • Speaking to Ynet News, Professor Raymond Tanter, one of the authors of the forthcoming book What Makes Iran Tick, which explores the Shiite Islamist ideology of Iran, said there was no questioning the belief of Iran's leaders in the coming of the Mahdi.
  • Tanter, President of the Washington-based Iran Policy Committee, said: "The Iranian leadership, particularly Ahmadinejad, welcome the apocalyptic vision of the return of the hidden Imam....After a period of great destruction, once the forces of evil are defeated, the so-called twelfth Imam is supposed to reign over a period of great prosperity."
  • "When Ahmadinejad was mayor of Tehran, he set up an urban renewal program that would make it easier to facilitate the Mahdi's return. He created passageways and roadways that would allow the Mahdi to return triumphantly."
  • "Ahmadinejad was called the man of a thousand bullets. Because he would give the last bullet for someone who has been tortured, and primarily executed by firing squad. Ahmadinejad's role was to put the last bullet in, in case the person was still squirming," Tanter said.
  • "No conceivable positive or negative incentives will influence the leadership of the clerics and the Revolutionary Guards from acquiring nuclear weapons. They need nuclear weapons in order to facilitate the ideological precepts of the return of the Mahdi."

Optimism about confronting Israel grows among Arab moderates after Lebanon War

Excerpted from Optimism about Confronting Israel Growing among Arab Moderates after Lebanon War:
  • Israel's war with Hizballah in Lebanon has aroused great hope in the Arab world - that Israel can be defeated. "We had given up on the military option," said Hani Hourani, director general of the Al-Urdun Al-Jadid ("New Jordan") Research Center. "By taking the initiative, Hizballah created a new way of thinking about the whole conflict in the region." "Even people like me, the moderate people, who never liked or supported Hizballah, we began to think twice about how we were wrong," Hourani said.
  • Renewed optimism about confronting Israel by force of arms is growing among the Arab world's moderates, who share the view that Israel is a Western imposition on the region.
  • Why are Arabs with business and political ties to the West, and even to Israel, jumping on the Hizballah bandwagon? Because their moderation derives not so much from an acceptance of the Jews' historical right to a homeland in the Middle East, but from the Arabs' repeated inability to defeat Israel. But if Israel can be beaten, then the whole equation changes.
  • Moderation may be giving way to the hope that the clock in the Middle East can be turned back not just to 1967 but to 1948, when Israel did not exist. "The Arabs want the 1967 border for the moment," said Abdel Mahdi al-Soudi, a sociology professor at the University of Jordan. The Arabs may sign peace treaties, but "nobody will sign on to end the conflict. Nobody will sign something saying Israel will be Israel forever."
  • It is this lack of acceptance of Israel, not Israeli actions or its disputes with the Palestinians, that perpetuates this endless conflict. Until the Arab world accepts Israel's place on this small strip of land, this conflict will not end.

Hizbullah's Children's Militias [Aged 10-15] : Over 2,000 Serving

Egyptian Weekly on Hizbullah's Armed Children's Militias: Over 2,000 Children Aged 10-15 Serving

In its August 18, 2006 edition, the Egyptian weekly Roz Al-Yusuf featured an investigative article by Mirfat Al-Hakim titled "Hizbullah's Children's Militias." The article reveals that Hizbullah has recruited over 2,000 children aged 10-15 to serve in armed militias, and that the Hizbullah-affiliated Mahdi Scouts youth organization is training them to become martyrs. The article is accompanied by a photo, which can be viewed in the HTML version of this Special Dispatch and at http://www.memri.org/images/uploaded/sd_127606_1.jpg .(1)

The following are excerpts from the article:

Hizbullah Recruits Children Barely 10 Years Old

According to Roz Al-Yusuf, "Hizbullah has recruited over 2,000 innocent children aged 10-15 to form armed militias. Before the recent war with Israel, these children appeared only in the annual Jerusalem Day celebrations, and were referred to as the 'December 14 Units,' but today they are called istishhadiyun ['martyrs']...

"Hizbullah has customarily recruited youths and children and trained them to fight from a very early age. These are children barely 10 years old, who wear camouflage uniforms, cover their faces with black [camouflage] paint, swear to wage jihad, and join the Mahdi Scouts [youth organization]...

"The children are selected by Hizbullah recruitment [officers] based on one criterion only: They must be willing to become martyrs."

The Children Train to Become Martyrs

"The children are educated from an early age to become martyrs in their youth, like their fathers, and their training is carried out by the Mahdi Scouts youth organization... [This organization], which is affiliated with Hizbullah, teaches the children the basic principles of Shi'ite ideology and of Hizbullah's ideology... The first lesson that the children are taught by Hizbullah is 'The Disappearance of Israel,' and it is always an important part of the [training] program...

"The Mahdi Scouts organization was founded in Lebanon on May 5, 1985... According to the organization's website, the number of [scouts] who had undergone training by the end of 2004 was 1,491, and the number of scout groups which had joined [the organization] was 449, with a membership of 41,960. According to the organization's most recent statistics, since 2004, 120 of its members have been ready to become martyrs.

"The organization's goal is to train an exemplary generation of Muslims based on the [principle of] 'the rule of the jurisprudent' [a founding principle of the Islamic Revolution in Iran], and to prepare for the coming of the Imam Mahdi [the Shi'ite messiah]. Its members, including the children, undertake to obey their commanders, to bring honor to the [Muslim] nation, and to prepare themselves for helping the Mahdi [when he comes]."

"A Nation With Child-Martyrs Will Be Victorious"

According to the article, Na'im Qasim, deputy to Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, said in an interview on Radio Canada: "A nation with child-martyrs will be victorious, no matter what difficulties lie in its path. Israel cannot conquer us or violate our territories, because we have martyr sons who will purge the land of the Zionist filth... This will be done through the blood of the martyrs, until we eventually achieve our goals."

Ahmadinejad’s Apocalyptic Faith

An excerpt from Ahmadinejad’s Apocalyptic Faith:
Ahmadinejad’s worldview is shaped by the radical Hojjatieh Shiism that is best represented by Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi, the Iranian President’s ideological mentor and marja-e taqlid (object of emulation), of the popular Haqqani religious school located in Qom. The affection seems to be mutual: in the 2005 Iranian presidential campaign, Ayatollah Yazdi issued a fatwa calling on his supporters to vote for Ahmadinejad.

The Hojjatieh movement is considered to be so radical that it was banned in 1983 by the Ayatollah Khomeini and is still opposed by the majority of the Iranian clerics, including the Supreme Leader of the Supreme National Security Council, Ayatollah Ali Khamanei. That should be telling in and of itself. That opposition notwithstanding, it is believed that several adherents of the Hojjatieh sect are in Cabinet-level positions in Ahmadinejad’s government.

Most Shiites await the return of the 12th Shiite Imam, Muhammad ibn Hasan, the last direct male descendent of the Prophet Mohammed’s son-in-law Ali, who disappeared in 874AD and is believed to be in an invisible, deathless state of existene, or “occultation”, awaiting his return. Though it is discounted even by the most extremist clerics, a popular belief in Iran holds that the 12th Imam, also called the Mahdi or the sahib-e zaman (“the Ruler of Time”), lives at the bottom of a well in Jamkaran, just outside of Qom. Devotees drop written requests into the well to communicate with the Mahdi. His reappearance will usher in a new era of peace as Islam vanquishes all of its enemies. The Sunnis, who reject the successors of Ali, believe that the Mahdi has yet to be born.

But rooted in the Shiite ideology of martyrdom and violence, the Hojjatieh sect adds messianic and apocalyptic elements to an already volatile theology. They believe that chaos and bloodshed must precede the return of the 12th Imam, called the Mahdi. But unlike the biblical apocalypse, where the return of Jesus is preceded by waves of divinely decreed natural disasters, the summoning of the Mahdi through chaos and violence is wholly in the realm of human action. The Hojjatieh faith puts inordinate stress on the human ability to direct divinely appointed events. By creating the apocalyptic chaos, the Hojjatiehs believe it is entirely in the power of believers to affect the Mahdi’s reappearance, the institution of Islamic government worldwide, and the destruction of all competing faiths.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has clearly indicated that he is a true believer in this faith. It has been reported that he has told confidants that he anticipates the immanent return of the Mahdi. When he previously served as Mayor of Tehran, he advocated for widening the roads to accommodate the Mahdi’s triumphal entry into the city. One of his first acts of office as President was to dedicate approximately $20 million to the restoration and improvement of the mosque at Jamkaran, where the Mahdi is claimed to dwell.

This personal belief directs his official policies as President. He has publicly said, “Our revolution’s main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam, the Mahdi. We should define our economic, cultural and political policies on the policy of the Imam Mahdi’s return.”
Upon his return to Iran from speaking at the UN, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met with Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli, where the two discussed an alleged paranormal occurrence while Ahmadinejad spoke.

They should have just thrown some holy water on him. That usually silences the demon-possessed. Read the rest of Ahmadinejad’s Apocalyptic Faith here.

So much for Iran's "peaceful use of nuclear energy"

More on August 22. Dr. Muhammed Al-Huni, A Libyan intellectual and author who resides in Italy ( and is close to Sayf Al-Islam, the son of Libyan leader Mu'ammar Al-Qaddafi, recently wrote a series of articles, dated July 16, 22, and July 26, 2006 for the liberal website Elaph.com. Following is an excerpt from an article dated July 26;

July 26: The Dreams of Ahmadinejad, Hamas, and Nasrallah "Bring Nothing but Massacres and Unbalanced Wars"

"In southern Libya, there was a dervish by the name of 'Adallah bin Mas'ud, who had disciples and students. One morning Sheikh bin Mas'ud gathered together his disciples and said to them: "I dreamt that the infedels' weapons have "gone cold" --meaning they are no longer deadly-- and thus I have decided that we will attack the French Army's fortress with cold arms." Many of the dervishes who were his students went after him, armed with knives, scythes, and swords, and attacked the French fortress in Sabha, the capital of the south. The French destroyed them all, to the last man.

"The latest dream (of this kind ) was that of the president of Iran, Ahmadinejad, who said in a speech that was broadcast on Iranian television in Mashad that Iran's joining the group of nations with nuclear technology derives from the Iranian nation's struggle, which is making a step forward towards the coming of the awaited MAHDI ( Al-Watan magazine. May 5, 2006 ). So Iran needs to manufacture a nuclear bomb before that time, in order to help the mahdi eliminate the infidels and the polytheists. .."

He goes on to say that Ahmadinejad doesn't see any need to enter into negotiations since the mahdi is coming and "He will wipe out Israel and the Sunnis, the Christians, and the Druze of Lebanon, and he ( i.e. Nasrallah ) will be the Imam's viceroy in all of Greater Syria."

Two murderous covenants: the PLO Covenant and the Nazi Covenant

Received by email, with much gratitude, from reader Karl Huttenbauer:

This chart, a comparison between the Nazi and PLO Covenants, was published 25 years ago in the Canadian Jewish Herald - Oct.1980 (publisher Dan Nimrod z"l).

One year later saw publication of 'On A field of Red' - the Comintern and the coming of World War II' (Putnams 1981) which revealed that (three years prior to the appearance of Hitler's 'Mein Kampf') the American Military Attache in Germany, CaptainTruman Smith, secured a 1922 audience with Adolf Hitler in Munich. The outcome of that encounter is enshrined in an extraordinary report - breathtaking for its insight.

Hitler insisted that the 25 articles of the Nazi 1920 Covenant were the 'dogma of our faith and the rock upon which the Party was built'. Captain Smith, disturbed by Hitler's anti-semitism and the ominous language of Article 4 (see below -"None but those of German...No Jew...may be a member of the nation") concluded that 'Hitler intended to perform a radical surgical operation on the Jews and remove them totally from German lebensraum.

The British response to this murderous plan was its 1922 decision to bar Jews from the eastern part of the Mandated Territories, namely the expansive, uninhabited desert of the trans Jordan (in short declare it 'Judenrein'). In the meantime the USA buried Colonel Smith's intelligence: determined to stay aloof from the 'petty affairs' of EurAsia until the day it was to receive its twin wake-up 'calls' - Hirohito's 'Pearl Habor' & 'Hitler's Declaration of War'.

America's cavalier treatment of Colonel Smith's real time intelligence led (inter alia) twenty years later to the Holocaust. Likewise, the unintelligent treatment by Beilin, Clinton, Peres and Co., (a dozen years or so after Dan Nimrod's real time intelligence) saddled Israel with Arafat and Oslo.

Today (after Hamas's election victory) Israel and the West is once more confronted by a genocidal covenant, the Hamas Covenant -http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/mideast/hamas.htm
endorsed by the Mad Mahdi of Teheran.

The question is - will the Jews (for the third time) be beguiled to forgo real-time intelligence and once more succumb to commu-nazi psywar propaganda intended to wear down their resistance to Hitler's Heirs?

The cult of the 12th imam

From Iran's Nuclear Nutter: Profile of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's combustive rhetoric about wiping out Israel, denying the Holocaust, and asserting Iran's inalienable right to nuclear power - a potential cloak for developing nuclear weapons - have triggered alarm bells around the world. The president is believed to be devoted to the cult of the 12th Imam, the Shi'ite savior better known as the Mahdi, whose return would usher in an apocalyptic revolution of the oppressed over the forces of injustice.

In September, he told Newsweek: "Our religion prohibits us from having nuclear weapons." After his recent outbursts, nobody takes him at his word any longer. We have been here before. History would have been different if Hitler had stuck to painting and Pol Pot to teaching. Once again, it's three minutes to midnight.
The Mahdi (translated as: guided one), in Islamic eschatology, is a prophecy about the redeemer of Islam, who will change the world into a perfect society before Yaum al-Qiyamah (the "Day of Resurrection" or the end times).

In a hadith widely regarded as authentic, Muhammad stated:
Even if the entire duration of the world's existence has already been exhausted and only one day is left before the Day of Judgment, Allah will expand that day to such a length of time, as to accommodate the kingdom of a person out of my Ahl al-Bayt who will be called by my name. He will then fill the Earth with peace and justice as it will have been filled with injustice and tyranny before then."
Sahih Tirmidhi, V2, P86, V9, P74-75.
So what we learned here is that Islam has its own little-known version of a Messianic era. What we already knew is that to get there - to get anywhere - they must create chaos first.

Today, Sunday, the Sheraton Hotel houses Muslim murderers

From JihadWatch:

From the Northern Virginiastan:

"Fundraising for the HAMAS fundraiser"

On Sunday, May 22, a fundraising dinner to support Abdulhalim Ashqar, charged with raising funds for HAMAS, and aspiring assassin Ahmed Abu Ali, will be held at the Sheraton Premiere Hotel in Tysons Corner. Confirmed speakers include our old buddies Shaker Elsayyed and Mahdi Bray and Imam Seraj Wahhaj, identified as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 WTC bombings.
What makes the Sheraton Premiere, aside from its central location, the "go-to" place for holding Islamic functions? CAIR is hosting two events - its MD-VA chapter annual fundraiser and its "Islamophobia" conference there. Does the Sheraton Premiere not have any scruples about who books its facilities?

Syrian Newspaper Hints: Saddam Better Off Committing Suicide

Folks, MEMRI, is a terrific research institute because of its invaluable work in their exploration of the Arab world's media. Quotes, newspapers, translations and analyses of poisonous articles, hate-filled statements and slanderous accusations mirror the darkness that permeates the region. Without MEMRI, we wouldn't know what our enemies are thinking.

Here is an interesting editorial that the newspaper of the leading Syrian party, Al-Ba'th, published by the paper's editor-in-chief Mahdi Dakhlallah. Although Saddam is not explicitly mentioned in the article, the author gives examples of leaders from throughout history who preferred suicide to humiliation at the hands of the enemy.

The following is the article: Saddam Better Off Committing Suicide
