Rabbis warn Bush: Annapolis will bring destruction to US

A group of prominent nationalist rabbis issued a harshly-worded letter to United States President George W. Bush earlier this week, warning him that the upcoming Annapolis peace conference would bring destruction upon America.

"We wrote to President Bush, a man who believes in the Bible, to warn him against the terrible danger to which he is exposing his country by hosting such a conference," said Rabbi Meir Druckman, one of signatories to the letter.

"The land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel. God punishes anyone who coerces Israel to give up its land," he said.

"There is no doubt the New Orleans flood from the Katrina hurricane was God's punishment for evicting the settlements, " said Druckman, "with hundreds of thousands left homeless, hundreds killed or wounded and billions of dollars sent down the drain – can we really ignore God's hand collecting an eye for an eye?"

The disengagement from Gaza and the northern West Bank was completed August 23rd, 2005 – which was also the date Hurricane Katrina formed over the Bahamas.

"This time the Almighty is warning the US in advance: if the plague of water was not enough now he shall send flames. While hundreds of thousands of families have already fled the terrible fires in California, and we ask you, will you really forge ahead with this malevolent plan?" added Druckman.

The rabbis urged Bush's administration to back down from the current direction of the peace process, saying that not an inch of Israeli land should be ceded. "Be merciful to yourselves and the beloved America and its citizens. Lay down the hand you have raised against the Creator in war. Help the people of Israel fight without compromise against the terrorists who rise against it, and then, with a pure heart, you will truly be able to pray: May God bless America," the rabbis said.

The New Jewish Congress was launched in Jerusalem on Tuesday - the same day as the Annapolis summit, whose defeatism it seeks to fight.

Organizations, speakers and supporters from across the spectrum of nationalist, right-wing and religious thought were present at the Renaissance Jerusalem Hotel to take part in the opening sessions. Though many of the participants have been at many right-wing gatherings before, a sense of cautious enthusiasm that "this could really be it" was palpable.

The plenary session was chaired by Congress co-organizer Prof. Hillel Weiss of Bar Ilan University. Others responsible for organizing the Congress were Katy Cohen and Prof. Arieh Zaritzky, while a fourth co-organizer, Dr. Gadi Eshel, read aloud the Congress charter, entitled: "The Eternal People in an Eternal Covenant in the Land of Israel."

Moral Inversion at Annapolis

May G-d and the Jewish people of Israel forgive me for having voted for George Bush. Via FrontPageMagazine:

“For too long, the people of Darfur have suffered at the hands of a government that is complicit in the bombing, murder, and rape of innocent civilians. My administration has called these actions by their rightful name: genocide.”

So said President Bush in a speech last May 29. At the end of the speech he said: “I call on President Bashir to stop his obstruction, and to allow the peacekeepers in, and to end the campaign of violence that continues to target innocent men, women and children. And I promise this to the people of Darfur: The United States will not avert our eyes from a crisis that challenges the conscience of the world.”

Just last November 1, in a message to Congress on the “Continuation of the National Emergency with Respect to Sudan,” he wrote: “Because the actions and policies of the Government of Sudan continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States, the national emergency [originally declared by President Clinton in 1997] must continue in effect beyond November 3, 2007.”

It was strange, then, to find in attendance at the Annapolis conference on Tuesday one John Ukec, ambassador to the U.S. from Sudan. In other words, among the invitees of a purported peace conference was a representative of a regime that the convener of the gathering himself, George Bush, had openly accused of genocide.

Sudan’s presence, though, wasn’t totally inappropriate to the morally upside-down world of the conference, which pitted a lone democracy, Israel, against the dictatorial-anarchic Palestinian Authority backed by a supporting cast of nine other Arab dictatorships of which Sudan was only the most egregious, along with the Arab League and the 56-member Organization of the Islamic Conference only a handful of whose countries could loosely qualify as democracies.

Moral inversion was well manifested in the Israeli-Palestinian “joint statement”—pursued like a sacred elixir for months by Secretary of State Rice and finally read out by Bush at the start of the conference—in which the sides “express our determination to . . . confront terrorism and incitement, whether committed by Palestinians or Israelis.”

With those words Israel—a democracy struggling against sixty years of violent aggression that does not engage in terrorism or incitement any more than Finland or Iceland—trashed its achievements, its identity, its Jewish heritage, and equated itself with one of the most terroristic and incitement-ridden societies of all time.

In reaction to the opening session at the Annapolis Peace Conference, the following statement was issued by the leadership of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (aka: the “Orthodox Union”) the largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization in the United States, in reaction to the statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Olmert and Palestinian President Abbas, as well as the Joint Understanding of the two leaders announced by President Bush:

Amid the commendable efforts by President Bush and Secretary Rice to settle the Israeli-Arab conflict, we are deeply concerned that this latest effort has been launched with a focus more on speed than substance. The Palestinian leadership appears more committed to regaining control of Jerusalem than on restraining terrorists in both the West Bank and Gaza.

We are also concerned that Israeli Prime Minister Olmert did not explicitly resist Palestinian President Abbas’ claim to a piece of Jerusalem. In fact, Mr. Olmert indicated in his address that “the reality created in 1967 will change greatly” and that such a process “is inevitable.” We disagree – the re-division of Jerusalem is not inevitable, nor is it necessary.

In addition, we are deeply troubled that the “Joint Understanding” issued by the Israeli and Palestinian leaders refers to a mutual commitment to “confront terrorism...whether committed by Palestinians or Israelis.” There has been no Israeli action against Palestinians that can possibly be equated with the suicide bombings, roadside shootings, or rocket attacks that have been inflicted on thousands of Israelis in the past several years. The onus for restraining terror
is squarely on the Palestinians – and they have so far failed miserably to do so.

PLO and other Palestinian spokesmen have, from time to time, given formal indications of recognition of Israel in their diplomatic discourse in foreign languages. But that's not the message delivered at home in Arabic, in everything from primary school textbooks to political speeches and religious sermons. Here the terms used in Arabic denote, not the end of hostilities, but an armistice or truce, until such time that the war against Israel can be resumed with better prospects for success. Without genuine acceptance of Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state, as the more than 20 members of the Arab League exist as Arab states, or the much larger number of members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference exist as Islamic states, peace cannot be negotiated.

A good example of how this problem affects negotiation is the much-discussed refugee question. During the fighting in 1947-1948, about three-fourths of a million Arabs fled or were driven (both are true in different places) from Israel and found refuge in the neighboring Arab countries. In the same period and after, a slightly greater number of Jews fled or were driven from Arab countries, first from the Arab-controlled part of mandatory Palestine (where not a single Jew was permitted to remain), then from the Arab countries where they and their ancestors had lived for centuries, or in some places for millennia. Most Jewish refugees found their way to Israel.

What happened was thus, in effect, an exchange of populations not unlike that which took place in the Indian subcontinent in the previous year, when British India was split into India and Pakistan. Millions of refugees fled or were driven both ways - Hindus and others from Pakistan to India, Muslims from India to Pakistan. Another example was Eastern Europe at the end of World War II, when the Soviets annexed a large piece of eastern Poland and compensated the Poles with a slice of eastern Germany. This too led to a massive refugee movement - Poles fled or were driven from the Soviet Union into Poland, Germans fled or were driven from Poland into Germany.

The government of Jordan granted Palestinian Arabs a form of citizenship, but kept them in refugee camps. In the other Arab countries, they were and remained stateless aliens without rights or opportunities, maintained by UN funding. Paradoxically, if a Palestinian fled to Britain or America, he was eligible for naturalization after five years, and his locally-born children were citizens by birth. If he went to Syria, Lebanon or Iraq, he and his descendants remained stateless, now entering the fourth or fifth generation.

The reason for this has been stated by various Arab spokesmen. It is the need to preserve the Palestinians as a separate entity until the time when they will return and reclaim the whole of Palestine; that is to say, all of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and Israel. The demand for the "return" of the refugees, in other words, means the destruction of Israel. This is highly unlikely to be approved by any Israeli government.

Which brings us back to the Annapolis summit. If the issue is not the size of Israel, but its existence, negotiations are foredoomed. And in light of the past record, it is clear that is and will remain the issue, until the Arab leadership either achieves or renounces its purpose - to destroy Israel. Both seem equally unlikely for the time being.

Arab States Insist Normalization with Israel Not on the Agenda at Conference

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said before leaving for Annapolis that the league's decision to send its foreign ministers to the conference does not mean normalizing relations with Israel. Andre Azoulay, senior adviser to King Mohamed VI of Morocco, told Ha'aretz Sunday that the summit's purpose in his view is to signal to all the people in the region that it is possible to revive peace efforts, but that it would be a mistake to expect steps toward normalization immediately after the conference.

NGO Bias in pre-Annapolis Political Statements on Gaza

Promoting Accountability in the Arab-Israeli Conflict. Via NGO Monitor:

A number of influential international NGOs claiming human rights and humanitarian objectives have published highly political statements in advance of the Annapolis peace summit (November 27). Most use similar rhetoric (see below) and repeat one-sided condemnations of Israeli policy in response to attacks from Hamas-controlled Gaza, including accusations of “collective punishment” and blame for a “humanitarian crisis”. Following the pattern of the past decade and the 2001 Durban strategy of demonization, these NGO statements largely ignore systematic Palestinian violations of human rights, and use pseudo-legal language to deny Israelis the right to self-defense against terror. As a result, these publications lack credibility.

This wave of NGO statements began in September 2007 after Israel's decision to declare Gaza a "hostile territory" in response to ongoing rocket attacks, and the political campaigns have increased in the build-up to Annapolis. The groups active in this campaign include Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Oxfam, Christian Aid, the Alternative Information Centre, and ICAHD (funded by the European Union). In addition, Israel-based political NGOs funded by the New Israel Fund, including Adalah, B’Tselem, Gisha, and Ha-Moked, as well as PCHR, Al-Haq, Al-Mezan use highly publicized petitions to the Israeli High Court as a means of promoting these claims.

On November 23, 2007, over 40 NGOs — led by Christian Aid (a powerful UK registered charity often involved in anti-Israel campaigns) and including War on Want and Trócaire (Irish Catholic Church Aid) — issued a joint statement to coincide with the conference. The declaration again condemns Israel's policy on Gaza, accusing Israel of making "a mockery of international humanitarian law" and following "the illegal policy of collective punishment...serving to deepen despair and frustration in Gaza." The statement goes on to call for an end to the international isolation of Hamas.

NGO Monitor Commentary: Exploiting the Specter of “Collective Punishment” to Condemn Israel

The frequent use of the term "collective punishment" in these statements is highly misleading and inconsistent with international law, morality and common sense. Article 33 of the IV Geneva Convention of 1949 states that "collective penalties and likewise all other measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited [by the Convention]". Drafted following World War II, the provision was designed to outlaw killing of civilians by an occupying power as a retaliatory response to acts of sabotage or resistance. Such acts included Nazi atrocities such as the 1944 Wola massacre of thousands of Polish civilians in Warsaw, Poland.

Furthermore, the exploitation of this term to condemn Israel's policy of closing its borders and limiting electricity and fuel to Hamas-controlled Gaza, in response to terror attacks reveals the politicized agenda of the human rights NGO community. And the use of this specific term could be considered an implicit comparison of the Israeli government’s defense measures with Nazi behavior – an odious and entirely inappropriate analogy, reflecting the 2001 Durban strategy of demonization. In contrast, the NGO community has not condemned Hamas and Hezbollah rocket attacks and other forms of terror against Israeli civilians, although these are clearly examples of “collective punishment”.

The NGO network also disregards the ongoing and complex debate which has taken place within the Israeli government, involving the Justice Ministry and Supreme Court, regarding Israel's commitments to the Gaza population under international law. Detailed information (systematically erased from the misleading NGO statements) demonstrates the continued flow of medical supplies and other vital goods in Gaza. For example, between June and Aug. 2007, 50,000 tons of humanitarian food was transferred by Israel to Gaza. (The European Union suspended funding for Gaza’s electricity generators in August, 2007 following evidence that the Hamas leadership was siphoning off revenues.) To compensate for shortages, Egyptian and Israeli utility companies increased their output. The NGO community did not condemn this European policy as “collective punishment.”

In contrast to these politicized and distorted statements, which divert attention from genuine human rights abuses, NGO Monitor recommends a number of human rights and humanitarian issues, which should feature more prominently in NGO campaigns. We urge the NGOs to apply international law universally, and to conduct credible, source-based research in order to monitor the internal Palestinian security failures, including regular kidnappings, murders and intimidation rocket and other forms of terror attacks against Israelis endangering of civilians by Palestinians launching rockets from civilian areas (human shields) abuse and persecution of Christians in Gaza flow of aid and medicines into Gaza, and the role of the Hamas leadership in communicating humanitarian needs to Israel in a timely fashion.

DECLARATION

At the Annapolis Conference, the prime minister intends:

To divide Jerusalem and give the Temple Mount to the Muslims;

To cede and withdraw from all of Judea and Samaria;

To establish a terrorist state in the heart of the country to be called Palestine;

To give the enemy control of the mountain ridge overlooking “little Israel,” rendering the densely populated center of the country indefensible;

To expel hundreds of thousands of Jews from their homes and to destroy their communities;

To allow Arab “refugees” to immigrate to Israel, thereby recognizing an Arab “right of return.”

This national disaster, which will place Israel’s continued existence in jeopardy, is being orchestrated by a self-serving and corrupt political clique bent on trading the nation’s most sacred and vital interests for a reprieve from their legal problems.

We, therefore, declare that:

The government has no right to cede the Land of the Bible and to blithely discard the Jewish People’s unique heritage of thousands of years. It has no right to reverse the Biblical prophecies of return to Zion that were fulfilled in our era at such tremendous human cost.

The government has no right to use the state as a tool to steal the Land of Israel from the Jewish People and to give it to foreign powers, in absolute negation of the purpose for which it was founded.

The government has no right to destroy cities, towns, and communities, to make hundreds of thousands of Jews into homeless refugees, and to steal their property.

By capitulating to foreign interests and to the tiny but powerful anti-Zionist Left in Israel, the government is shattering the social contract that is the source of its right to govern. By violating the foundational principles and norms of the Jewish State, this government has delegitimized itself.

When a government becomes a force that destroys what it is charged to protect, people have a moral obligation to refuse to collaborate, to disobey, and to resist its decisions, orders, and legislation that lead to national suicide and crimes against humanity.

The Jewish People in Israel and the Diaspora will not be bound by any international commitments of this government to cede parts of the country. It declares any such obligations null and void, and will do all in its power to defeat them.

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand lose its cunning.

The Al Aksa Brigades of the Fatah, commanded by Machmud Abbas, aka Abu Mazen, proudly took immediate credit for the drive by murder of Ido Zoldan, age 29, father of two little children, on Monday night.

Meanwhile, Abbas refuses to disarm or disband the Al Aksa Brigades of the Fatah which operate under his direct command.

Even worse: Neither the Israel nor the American government demand that Abbas disarm or disband the Al Aksa Brigades, even though the Al Aksa Brigades has been defined as an illegal terrorist organization by both the US and Israeli governments.

Even worse: both the US and Israel offer arms and ammunition to Abbas.

Do the American and Israeli people know this?

About Ido Zildan z"l

On Nov 19, 2007 - Ido Zoldan, 29, of Shavei Shomron was killed in a shooting attack near Kedumim in the northern West Bank, when terrorists opened fire from a passing car at around 11:30 pm.

A terrorist cell was waiting in ambush near Kedumim, in Samaria, for Israeli vehicles. When Ido, who was riding alone, came into range, the enemy attackers sprayed the vehicle with gunfire. Ido was mortally wounded. Paramedics who arrived at the scene were unable to save his life. The Fatah Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the terror attack as "an act of protest against the Annapolis conference."

Ido was born and raised in Kedumim, where he met his wife, Tehila. They had also "adopted" a group of Ethiopian children, helping them integrate into Israeli life.

Ido Zoldan was buried in Kedumim. He is survived by his wife Tehila and his two small children, three-year-old Aharon and one-year-old Rachel.

Arabs agree to attend Annapolis talks

Well, break out the sand fleas and celebrate. The warring Arabs who attacked Israel no less than five times in the past 60 years, and because of their aggression and hatred, lost those wars, now wants all land back, including land that was never theirs to begin with. Well, isn't that typical Muslim hubris.

Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations grudgingly agreed Friday to attend next week's U.S.-sponsored Mideast peace conference in Annapolis, despite failing to get any guarantee of Israeli concessions. But neither facts nor concessions matter to Arabs, all that matters to Arabs is accumulation, hoarding, thieving and killing Jews.

Prior to June 1967, Israel did not "occupy" any Arab land. Similarly, palestinians were not calling for the establishment of a palestinian state in the West Bank, which was controlled by Jordan, or in the Gaza Strip, which was ruled by Egypt.

Sadly, there no longer exists an international emergency force to protect Israel. Everyone hates the Jew, everyone blames the Jew for everything, from 9/11 to global warming to causing AIDS.

The unwillingness of any Arab state to make peace leaves Israel with no choice but to hold onto those territories it had captured in the war started by Arabs until Arabs are prepared to negotiate a settlement and most of all, promise to recognize the legitimacy and sovereignty of Israel.

All human beings are entitled to food, clothing, shelter, medical attention, and education. We all have a responsibility to ensure that others have these things.

But criminal gangs like the "palestinian people" don't have legitimate claims to what they're demanding.

Palestinian Arabs are not indigenous to Palestine. They are leftover Arabs, residual of another age. Knowing Arab history is vital to understanding the situation in the Middle East. Arabs are from Arabia. Beginning in AD 622, under Mohammad, Arab "prophet" of Medina, the Islamic religion became a war machine and aggressively expanded from the Arabian Peninsula to all directions until AD 750 when it controlled North Africa westward to Spain and southern France, northward to Palestine and Armenia, and eastward 400 miles past the Indus River.

During all this time Palestine was little more than a wilderness of nomads, loosely associated groups of provincial subdivisions with frequently changing administrations. The people were a "pan-Arab" mix of gypsy-like leftovers, whom the General Syrian Congress of 1919 declared to be "the southern part of Syria." It wasn’t considered "Palestine," a separate Arab nationality, until the 1967 Six-Day War of Israel’s boundary expansions. Arabs weren’t even in Palestine until the mid-7th century AD, over a thousand years later, after Palestine’s 1,300-year Jewish history.

Arabs later living in Palestine never developed themselves or the land, but remained nomadic and hardly productive during their 1,200-year stay. The difference between the American Indian and palestinians is that the American Indian can prove they lived in North America for centuries prior to the arrival of Europeans. Palestinians can't prove anything, so it is imperative that the world stops immediately proposing a "palestinian peoplehood". It's invalid.

Moreso, Arabs have been killing Jews since the early 1900's when there was no occupation.

And there is no occupation now. Arabs chose war, Arabs suffer the consequences.

There is no moral equivalence between what Jews do to defend themselves vs. what palestinian barbarians do to perpetuate the myth that their land was stolen by Jews.

The land that Israel is built on was bought and paid for - by Jews.

When some Palestinians fled in 1948 after their leaders told them to leave because they were going to kill the Jews, they left, thinking that the Jews would be dead when they returned.

Talk about hubris.

Now they pathetically crawl back and want their homes back or what they fabricate was their homes.

Right now, millions of Germans and Poles are living in the homes of murdered Jews, and no descendant Jew would humiliate themselves to demand that these Germans and Poles leave their homes so that they could return. Instead, the Jews made new homes, in Israel and in the US. In Israel, the Jews returned to their land that was barren and infertile, to land that some Arab landowners vacated, and to land that was never inhabited by Arabs to begin with.

Arabs think that the rest of us will bow to them by bombing us in our offices, synagogues, and kindergartens.

But let me scream this from the highest tower; there is no law on earth that requires the Jewish people to accept the revision of their history nor their own demise merely because Arabs say we should. The fact that Israel was attacked after leaving every inch of Lebanon and the Gaza Strip proves that the reason why Hezbollah initiated the war was not because of any territorial dispute, but just because Israel exists.

To those of us disgusted with the demonization of Israel, the nazification of Zionism, the politicization of all things Israeli, the Arab oversimplification reducing all discussions of Israel to the "palestinian problem", I say, the "palestinian people" have not suffered enough and may their suffering continue for another 60 years.

Meanwhile, Condi Rice and every other American who is and will be betraying the Israel nation, should be informed that there is already an Arab state, to the one Arab nation (one nation, according to the Arabs themselves, see e.g. Weizmann-Feissal 1919 agreement talking about one Arab state for the Arabs and one Jewish state for the Jews which is "Palestine, east and west").

In all other documents, the Arabs claim to be one nation only, therefore deserving one state only. Yes, there is already A Palestinian Arab State: It is called Jordan.

The palestinian Muslim Hate Industry

Jew-bashing and Jew-mocking cartoons drawn by palestinian Muslim Alaa’ Allaqta appear regularly in Hamas’ newspaper, Felesteen, on the palestinian Islamic Jihad Website and in Saudi Arabian and Qatari newspapers. They are part of the propaganda campaign directed against Israeli-palestinian negotiations and the upcoming meeting in Annapolis.

Another Israeli Jew murdered by Muslims

Palestinian muzbots doing what they do best - killing Jews. This is Israel's reward for sitting down and negotiating with Muslim barbarians (sorry for the oxymoron) who have not evolved since the 7th century. Where's the international outrage? Via Ynet:

Ido Zoldan, 29 and a father of two, was murdered in a Muslim terrorist shooting attack in Samaria around 11:00 pm Monday night.

Palestinian Authority Muslim terrorists fired on the man as he drove past the village of Funduk, near Kedumim. Paramedics who arrived at the scene were unable to save his life.

Zoldan, of Shavei Shomron, will be buried on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in Kedumim. He is survived by his wife Tehila and his two small children, three-year-old Aharon and one-year-old Rachel. The family moved to Shavei Shomron after they were displaced from Homesh in the Disengagement of 2005.

According to initial information, a Muslim terrorist cell was waiting in ambush in the area for Israeli vehicles. When Ido, who was riding alone, came into range, the enemy attackers sprayed the vehicle with gunfire. The driver was critically injured, with multiple gunshot wounds, and he apparently died within minutes.

The Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said it carried out the attack to demonstrate its opposition to the planned Annapolis conference. IDF officials have warned that terrorists will increase their efforts to harm Israelis during the days leading up to the meeting. The conference will be held at some point in the next 30 days, which, according to recent reports, could mean as early as next week.

After his expulsion from Homesh, Ido Zoldan became one of the core leaders of the Homesh First movement, which seeks to reestablish a Jewish presence in the Samaria town.

The terror victim's father, Nachman Zoldan, is among the leading building contractors in Judea and Samaria. Ido had joined his father in the Kedumim 3000 Company, which has been responsible for construction projects throughout Jude, Samaria and Gaza. According to a relative of the family, Amatzia Haeitan, the Zoldan family "builds for the sake of ideology and in order to build up the Land of Israel." Haeitan said that the younger Zoldan had introduced the idea of seeking out Jewish labor for work on the company's construction sites.

"He lived this land and the people of Israel," Haeitan added, "and he was always happy."

On Monday night, the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza (Yesha) called the killing Israel's "reward" for agreeing earlier in the day to release 441 more Arab terrorists from prison.
