Robert Kennedy's 1948 Reports from Palestine

From On the 40th Anniversary of His Assassination: Robert Kennedy's 1948 Reports from Palestine by Lenny Ben-David:
In April 1948, one month before Israel declared independence, Robert Kennedy, then 22, traveled to Palestine to report on the conflict for the Boston Post. His four dispatches from the scene were published in June 1948. The newspaper closed in 1956, and for decades the reports were virtually forgotten.

"Unfortunately for [the Jews, Jerusalem's water] reservoir is situated in the mountains and it and the whole pipeline are controlled by the Arabs. The British would not let them cut the water off until after May 15th but an Arab told me they would not even do it then. First they would poison it."

The Arab responsible for the blowing up of the Jewish Agency on March 11, 1948, said "that after the explosion, upon reaching the British post which separated the Jewish section from a small neutral zone set up in the middle of Jerusalem, he was questioned by the British officers in charge. He quite freely admitted what he had done and was given immediate passage with the remark, 'Nice going.'"

"The Jews informed the British government that 600 Iraqi troops were going to cross into Palestine from Trans-Jordan by the Allenby Bridge on a certain date and requested the British to take appropriate action to prevent this passage. The troops crossed unmolested....I saw several thousand non-Palestinian Arab troops in Palestine, including many of the famed British-trained and equipped Arab legionnaires of King Abdullah [of Trans-Jordan]. There were also soldiers from Syria, Lebanon, Iraq."

"The Arabs in command believe that eventually victory must be theirs. It is against all law and nature that this Jewish state should exist. They...promise that if it does become a reality it will never have as neighbors anything but hostile countries, which will continue the fight militarily and economically until victory is achieved."

"The Jews on the other hand believe that in a few more years, if a Jewish state is formed, it will be the only stabilizing factor remaining in the Near and Middle East. The Arab world is made up of many disgruntled factions which would have been at each other's throats long ago if it had not been for the common war against Zionism."

Egyptian's Bid for UN Post in Doubt After Call to Burn Israeli Books

The United Nations' continues to guarantee that it remains a cesspool of Muslim ethnocentrism and Jew hatred. Via NY Sun:

UN diplomats said Egyptian Culture Minister Farouk Hosni's candidacy to become director-general of UNESCO may now be doomed, after he told the Egyptian parliament that if any Israeli books were found in Egyptian libraries, he would burn them.

Such a statement is "couched in the language and actions of Nazi 'Minister of Culture' Josef Goebbels," the director for international relations of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Shimon Samuels, said in a letter.

"An aspirant book-burner, who threatens to wield culture as a weapon, cannot head the intellectual arm of the United Nations."

Former Indonesian President Describes Lynching of Jews in Iraq

From Former Indonesian President Describes Lynching of Jews in Iraq via DailyAlert:
Abdurrahman Wahid, 67, the former Indonesian president and a leading Muslim scholar, revealed the root of his understanding of the risks and perils of Jewish existence. Wahid was a student at Baghdad University in 1966, earning his keep as a secretary at a textile importer, when he befriended the firm's elderly accountant, an Iraqi Jew he remembers only by his family name, Ramin. In 1968, the Iraqi government effectively had come under the control of Saddam Hussein, who at that time was deputy to the president, Ahmad Hassan al-Bakr. At Saddam's behest, Iraqi courts had convicted 14 Iraqis - nine of them Jews - on trumped-up charges of spying for Israel, and they were hanged in Baghdad's Tahrir Square, just steps away from where the textile firm had offices.

Wahid has gained prominence for his insistence on introducing Muslim nations to certain truths about the Jews. He has called Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a "liar" for denying the Holocaust. Wahid says moderate Islam stands a greater chance of triumphing over Islamic radicalism once Western leaders stop trying to accommodate Islamic extremists. Saudi Arabia, in particular, remains the primary funding source for the global spread of fundamentalist Islam.

Anti-Semitism among Palestinian Authority Academics

From Anti-Semitism among Palestinian Authority Academics:

PA efforts to delegitimize Israel are evident throughout Palestinian society and involve television, schoolbooks, and culture, incorporating hate messages and the denial of Israel's right to exist. Academics including professors, religious scholars, teachers, and schoolbook authors are all participating.

Palestinian academics, recognizing the futility of attempting to erase the documented history of the Jews, literally stole the identity of the Jews by identifying ancient Hebrews as both Arabs and Muslims and denying their connection to today's Jews in Israel.

Many PA academics teach that the killing of Jews by Muslims is a precondition of world redemption.

Anti-Semitic Hate Speech in the Name of Islam

From Anti-Semitic Hate Speech in the Name of Islam:

Farfur, the cartoon character on Hamas' children's television program, is a carbon copy of Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse. But the Hamas version does something that Mickey would never do: He entertains children while propagating the murder of Jews.

Farfur's appearances are typical of Hamas' anti-Semitic propaganda, which the organization also exports to Germany via satellite, hoping to breed new generations of fanatical anti-Semites and suicide bombers.

According to a 2007 study by the German Interior Ministry on the worldviews of "Muslims in Germany," "anti-Semitic attitudes were found among young Muslims far more often than among non-Muslim immigrants or domestic non-Muslims."

Teachers in Berlin are sometimes confronted with Muslim students who refuse to take part in school trips to concentration camp memorials. During one excursion to the German Historical Museum, a group of Muslim youth gathered in front of a replica of a gas chamber in Auschwitz and applauded.

Legacy of Islamic Anti-Semitism

Deconstructing the mythology of Islam's historical love for the Jews. From Legacy of Islamic Anti-Semitism:
The Legacy of Islamic Anti-Semitism by Andrew Bostom refutes the claim that Islam, unlike Christianity, had not entertained a systematic persecution of the Jews, with a well-tailored survey of the theological, historical and juridical origins of Islamic anti-Semitism.

A trove of anti-Jewish stereotypes that have become the Sharia-based uncontested "truth" about the People of the Book are invariably cited in sermons during Friday prayers, thus assuring their universal diffusion among Muslim constituents and the constant poisoning of the souls of young and adult Muslims alike, something that renders their fundamentally negative attitudes to Jews and Israel unchangeable.
See also Islam's History of Anti-Semitism:

The historical documents make clear that, from day one, Jews and Christians have been systematically treated as second-class citizens, "dhimmis," in the regions conquered by Islam.

Even if there were some sort of Andalusian "golden age" - as academics are fond of reminiscing and insisting - that's exactly all it was, an "age," an "aberration."

Far from being a by-product of Western anti-Semitism or the creation of Israel, animosity toward the Jews has a firm doctrinal base tracing back to Islam's most authoritative texts.

Durban II Videos: A conference to redefine "antisemitism"

Durban II is the next UN "anti-racism" conference - certain to be a global platform for antisemitism and the demonization of Israel. Planning for the 2009 hatefest is already underway.

Here are two more videos from Eye On The UN. The first is of the Libyan Chairperson, Najat Al-Hajjaji, silencing criticism of efforts to redefine antisemitism at Durban II. Click here to watch video.

The next video is of the Algerian representative; watch as he (inadvertently) confirms the attempt to redefine antisemitism at Durban II. Click here to watch video.

Using charming children's characters to teach hate and violence

From Palestinian Media Watch:
Hamas rabbit to children: "I'll finish off the Jews and eat them!" by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook.

Farfur (Mickey Mouse) was beaten to death by an israeli policeman Nahul the Bee died when the Israeli "siege" of Gaza prevented him from reaching a hospital Now there's a new character for Tomorrow's Pioneers, Assud the Rabbit

A girl asks the Hamas rabbit: "Why is your name 'Assud' ["lion"], since you are a rabbit?"

Assud, the rabbit: "A rabbit is a [term] for a bad person and coward. And I, Assud, will finish off the Jews and eat them. " The girl hostess agrees: "Allah Willing!"

This was part of a children's broadcast on Hamas Television this week. The program is called Tomorrow's Pioneers, which previously featured a fuzzy Mickey Mouse character named Farfur and a cute bee named Nahul. We've learned from previous episodes of the program that both Farfur and Nahul were "martyred" by Israelis. In the latest episode, we learn that Assud, the new rabbit character, has come from Lebanon "in order to return to the homeland and liberate it." Later in the show Assud and the child hostess discuss the eventual conquering of Tel-Aviv through terror.

Assud: "Do you know what the original name of our city ... Tel Aviv!"

Hostess: "It's our city: Tel-Rabia... but the Zionists today call it Tel Aviv, but it will stay ours... and we will return with Allah's will".

Assud: "How will we go to our city if the Jews took it?"

Hostess: "We will continue the resistance (terror)."

The program ends with singing: "We will never recognize Israel"

And the hostess emphasizes: "until we liberate our homeland from the Zionist filth".

No Jews Allowed in Annapolis

Folks, you must really understand some of the most significant details of what happened in Annapolis. I am hardly the political analyst; instead, I pay attention to hard facts, figures, years, data, and statistics. And people's behavior. How one behaves says it all. In Annapolis, the fact that the Jews were asked to enter the conference room through a different door than the one that was used by the arabs should have been the signal for the Israeli team to pick themselves up out of that pig-sty and to vow to never again sit down and negotiate with Muslim sub-human terrorists. Bargain with those Arab pig bastards while they ask the Israeli team to use another door? Screw that crap. And to hell with Condi Rice, for growing up in the segregated South, yet never saying anything to the Arabs asking the Jews to use another entrance. Condi Rice's silence was criminal. Excerpted from the excellent Caroline Glick, at JPost:
This week the Bush Administration legitimized Arab anti-Semitism. In an effort to please the Saudis and their Arab brothers, the Bush administration agreed to physically separate the Jews from the Arabs at the Annapolis conference in a manner that aligns with the apartheid policies of the Arab world which prohibit Israelis from setting foot on Arab soil.

Evident everywhere, the discrimination against Israel received its starkest expression at the main assembly of the Annapolis conference on Tuesday. There, in accordance with Saudi demands, the Americans prohibited Israeli representatives from entering the hall through the same door as the Arabs.

At the meeting of foreign ministers on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni called her Arab counterparts to task for their discriminatory treatment. "Why doesn't anyone want to shake my hand? Why doesn't anyone want to be seen speaking to me?" she asked pointedly.

Israel's humiliated foreign minister did not receive support from her American counterpart. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who spent her childhood years in the segregated American South, sided with the Arabs. Although polite enough to note that she doesn't support the slaughter of Israelis, she made no bones about the fact that her true sympathies lie with the racist Arabs.

As she put it, "I know what it is like to hear that you cannot go on a road or through a checkpoint because you are a Palestinian. I understand the feeling of humiliation and powerlessness. "

Rice's remarks make clear that for the Secretary of State there is no difference between Israelis trying to defend themselves from a jihadist Palestinian society which supports the destruction of the Jewish state and bigoted white Southerners who oppressed African Americans because of the color of their skin. It is true that Israel has security concerns, but as far as Rice is concerned, the Palestinians are the innocent victims. They are the ones who are discriminated against and humiliated, not Livni, who was forced - by Rice - to enter the conference through the service entrance.

The Bush administration' s tolerance for discrimination against Israel was not merely ceremonial. Diplomatically, the conference was equally prejudicial. At Annapolis, the US joined the Arabs in placing the lion's share of blame for the absence of peace between Israel and the Palestinians on Israel. But you wouldn't know that from listening to Olmert, who is working steadily to hide what happened there.
