A Hamas cell that was plotting suicide attacks inside Israel with chemical explosives was arrested in May by the Israel Security Agency and the IDF, security officials announced Tuesday. The cell was involved in manufacturing a bomb belt that was discovered in a Tel Aviv apartment on Yom Kippur, last September, and was designated for use in a suicide attack in the city. The IDF arrested four members of the cell, all residents of Nablus. One cell member, Ayman Awad, served a prison sentence in Israel for involvement in dispatching a suicide bomber several years ago. During their interrogation, the four confessed to building a laboratory where they experimented building bombs with different chemical materials, using an instructional video prepared by a senior Hamas bomb-maker.

Sderot: 2 wounded in Qassam barrage

Muslims are relentless killers, mostly because Islam, at its core, is lethally militaristic and institutionalizes homicide. Yet again, two Jews were lightly wounded and nine others suffered from shock after Muslim terror groups in northern Gaza launched a barrage of eight Qassam rockets towards Israel late Wednesday evening. Two of the rockets landed in the town of Sderot, causing structural damage near the town's commercial center. Security forces have yet to confirm where the remaining rockets crashed. The military wings of the Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance Committee's - the al-Quds Brigades and the Salah a-Din Brigades - claimed responsibility for the Qassam barrages.

For the family and friends of the eight boys murdered in cold blood in the Jerusalem seminary last Thursday night - the eyes that have been running with tears are still far from drying. The mourners continue to sit shiva, and I imagine for most their thoughts are far from what is going on in the rest of the world. May God comfort them.

For the rest of the Jewish people, and for many in the Christian world, I very much hope the response of Gaza’s Arabs to the heinous and terribly cruel act of mass murder reached them.

It needs to be seen: First, take a look at the faces of the young victims in this newspaper report.

Then follow this link to video recordings showing how Gaza’s Arabs reacted to the news that these students had so brutally been robbed of their lives.

You will see Muslim Arabs - old and young - who, having heard the news, stand up from where they were bowed prostate before their god and break into instantaneous and rapturous celebration. You will see them waving flags and banners around a large bonfire; handing out candy to passing cars while proudly posing for the cameras; bellowing their excitement; clapping furiously; handing out maps of their longed-for State of Palestine (encompassing all of Israel); and you will see a boy carrying bagpipes to play in one of the many popular youth bands.

To remind the viewer what all the joy, laughter and dancing is all about, the video ends with a 20 second look into the back of one of the ambulances that responded to the yeshiva massacre.

Nine days later, my brother and niece were released and they told me that Ali Hasan al-Majid [Saddam's cousin, Chemical Ali] had executed my two sons by throwing them out of a helicopter into the Gulf."

Many Shias who took part in the uprising say they had expected U.S. forces to back them in the rebellion, but former president Bush instead ordered a halt at the Iraqi border, leaving the rebels at the mercy of Saddam's elite Revolutionary Guards.

Two Katyusha rockets fired from Lebanon struck northern Israel on Sunday, the first since last summer's war with Hizbullah. One rocket hit a factory and the other hit a car near Kiryat Shmona. The Lebanese LBC channel reported three rockets were fired at Israel from the village of Taibeh. The third rocket struck next to a UNIFIL base in the southern Lebanese village of Houla. An Israeli official accompanying Prime Minister Olmert on a visit to the U.S. said: "It seems that it was Palestinians, not Hizbullah."

Oh, well then, that makes it easier to live with. Palestinians are allowed to attack Israel, because after all, Jews are the sons of monkeys and pigs. The fact is that Hizbullah is going to attack Israel this coming summer. Yesterday's attack was just a dress rehearsal.

Oshri Oz, 36, of Hod Hasharon was killed Sunday when a Palestinian rocket fired from Gaza hit the car in which he was driving in Sderot, the second person killed by a Palestinian rocket in less than a week. 22 Palestinian rockets fell on or near Sderot over the weekend.

The Palestinian rocket that ended Oz's life landed 30 centimeters from his vehicle, spraying him with shrapnel and fatally wounding him. Oz, a computer technician, traveled to Sderot several times a week as part of his work. Oz is survived by his pregnant wife and three-year-old daughter. Six Palestinian rockets hit Sderot on Sunday. One slammed into a newly-built community center. Another struck the home of the Hazan family - the second time a rocket has hit their house. David Hazan and his 15-year-old son were both at home when they heard the siren sound, and managed to rush into the security room. A moment after they closed the door to the room, a Kassam rocket scored a direct hit on their house.

In an interview with the London daily Al-Hayat, the military commander of Fatah al-Islam, Shihab al-Qaddour, also known as Abu Hurieira, threatened that if attacks by the Lebanese military against his organization continued, "all fronts will be opened." Al-Qaddour stated that "in addition to the supporters of the organization, Fatah al-Islam has bases and sleeper cells in all the Palestinian refugee camps in the various regions of Lebanon, and they are on alert [to launch] a harsh response - they await only a sign from us." Al-Qaddour said: "Many Fatah al-Islam members have very rich battle experience outside Lebanon. I personally have 21 years of experience in fighting in various regions - the most recent of which was Iraq." Al-Qaddour denied that Fatah al-Islam was affiliated with al-Qaeda, and added: "Our organization is an Islamic project aimed at liberating Palestine and Jerusalem."

It is hard to comprehend how the execution of a cruel dictator, personally responsible for the murder of more than one million Iraqis, Iranians, Kurds, and Shi'ites during his 24 years in power, came as such a shock to the high-minded souls of the world, especially those in the EU who called the hanging of Saddam Hussein a "barbaric act."

A leader who doesn't blink an eyelid at employing chemical warfare to murder thousands of Kurds and an equal number of Shi'ites, and then buries dozens, if not hundreds, of them in mass graves, who is capable of launching an eight-year war against Iran that ends up killing a million people, is not an ordinary murderer.

He is a war criminal who deserves to be put to death. Israel did not hesitate to hang Adolf Eichmann.

The common denominator between the Nazi murderers and Saddam was an obsessive desire to wipe out the Jews. Saddam was a megalomaniac who pledged to burn Israel to a crisp.

He began to build the first nuclear reactor in the Arab world with the express purpose of putting an end to Israel.

He encouraged and financed suicide bombings and terror against Israel's civilian population, and fired 40 Scud missiles at us.

Mohammad Abd al-Hamid Srour moved missiles across southern Lebanon under cover of a white flag. Hussein Ali Mahmoud Suleiman used the porch of a private home to fire rockets. Maher Hassan Mahmoud Kourani dressed in civilian clothes, hid his Kalashnikov in a tote bag, and stored anti-aircraft missiles in the back of a green unmarked Volvo. The three men, all members of Hizballah, were captured by Israel during last summer's war.

Their videotaped interviews form part of a remarkable report by retired Lt.-Col. Reuven Erlich of Israel's Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center. Relying heavily on first-hand evidence, the report shows how Hizballah put innocent civilians at risk by deliberately deploying its forces in towns and often private homes. It is Hizballah, not Israel, that is guilty of war crimes here.

Beyond the war in Lebanon, these images suggest how Islamists seek to use the restraint of Western powers against them. They shoot at our civilians from the safety of their own civilian enclaves that they know we are reluctant to attack. Then if by chance their civilians are killed, they call in CNN and al-Jazeera cameras and wait for the likes of Human Rights Watch to denounce America or Israel for war crimes.

None of this means the U.S. shouldn't continue to fight with discrimination and avoid civilian casualties. But it means our political leadership needs to speak as candidly as Israelis now are speaking about this enemy strategy, so the American people can understand and be steeled against this new civilian battleground.
