Mahmoud Admadinejad and Lee Bollinger, two disturbed egos in search of a legacy
Everyone knows that Ahmadinejad would only be mocking the Americans murdered by his Muslim brethren, and that his mocking act of laying a wreath would really be to honor the dead Muslims who perpetrated the greatest act of war on American soil since the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor in 1941.
Even worse is the fact that Ahmadinejad is coming to NY to address the UN General Assembly, and worst of all, is the fact that Lee Bollinger, the president of Columbia University, has invited Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia. Both events are scheduled to take place on Monday, September 24, 2007.
Ironically, Lee Bollinger withdrew an invitation to Ahmadinejad in September 2006, after the dean of Columbia's school of international and public affairs, Lisa Anderson, had invited Ahmadinejad to speak at the World Leader's Forum, a year-long program that aims to unite "renowned intellectuals and cultural icons from many nations to examine global challenges and explore cultural perspectives." Bollinger said he canceled Ahmadinejad's invitation because he couldn't be certain it would "reflect the academic values that are the hallmark of a University event such as our World Leaders Forum."
Why Bollinger changed his mind a year later, can only be analyzed by his psychotherapist. To register your complaint, please call 212-854-9970, Lee Bollinger's phone number and please leave a message.
We mustn't forget Iran’s support of terrorism, including their enabling many of the 9/11 hijackers to pass through Iran while they were planning the 9/11 attacks. In addition, we mustn't forget about the investment, by proxy, of billions of dollars being made by American retirement funds into Iran and how that money is being used to kill our troops in Iraq.
As Jason Mattera, of Young America's Foundation says, since Ahmadinejad is so interested in America, he should study the Bill of Rights, especially Amendments 1 and 2. And may a bullet finds its way into Ahmadinejad's frontal lobe post haste.
In the meantime, Former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, who is running for president, said in a statement:
Under no circumstances should the N.Y.P.D. or any other American authority assist President Ahmadinejad in visiting Ground Zero. This is a man who has made threats against America and Israel, is harboring Bin Laden’s son and other al Qaeda leaders, is shipping arms to Iraqi insurgents and is pursuing the development of nuclear weapons. Assisting Ahmadinejad in touring Ground Zero – hallowed ground for all Americans – is outrageous.

Bin Laden’s deputy behind the Red Mosque bloodbath
Evidence that the jihad is indeed global, and not simply a series of various nationalist insurgent movements. Lal Masjid Update. By Dean Nelson and Ghulam Hasnain in the TimesOnline:AL-QAEDA’S leadership secretly directed the Islamic militants whose armed revolt at the Red Mosque in Islamabad ended last week with more than 100 deaths after it was stormed by the Pakistan army.
According to senior intelligence officials, the troops who finally took control discovered letters from Osama Bin Laden’s deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri. They were written to Abdul Rashid Ghazi and Abdul Aziz, the brothers who ran the mosque and adjacent madrasah.
Government sources said up to 18 foreign fighters -- including Uzbeks, Egyptians and several Afghans -- had arrived weeks before the final shootout and set up firing ranges to teach students, including children, how to handle weapons.
Al-Qaeda has wanted to open a Pakistan front in its global jihad since President Pervez Musharraf sided with America after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Diplomats were surprised by the speed with which the fugitive Zawahiri condemned the raid and called on Pakistanis to rise up against Musharraf.
The response to his appeal was equally swift. Twenty-seven soldiers were killed when a suicide attacker struck a military convoy in northwest Pakistan near the Afghan border yesterday. At least 58 have been killed in bombings and shootings since the Red Mosque crisis began 12 days ago.
This weekend street protests were organised by religious parties as the government dispatched thousands more soldiers to its troubled North West Frontier province.

Another misanthrope
I'm not dumb and far be it for me to think that I am above average in cognitive processing, but I will concede that I am at a loss why as London defends itself against heinous islamic behavior, London's Mayor Ken Livingstone defends it. Via Yahoo UK Ireland:
Shyeah, riiiight, Muslims are real advocates of multi-cultural diversity. What a joke. Now, I'm waiting for the inevitable: for the Jew-hating Brits to blame islamic terrorism on Israel. Of course, any kind of enlightenment or learning is unacceptable and is a threat to the darkness and ignorance that Londonistan thrives on. Too bad, though, because the last thing islamic extremists can tolerate is a population of thinking, educated people.London Mayor Ken Livingstone called on Britons Saturday not to demonize Muslims after a double car bomb plot was foiled in the capital, amid fears of a Islamist terror threat.
"In this city, Muslims are more likely to be law-abiding than non-Muslims and less likely to support the use of violence to achieve political ends than non-Muslims," he told BBC Radio.
"They have played a good and active and growing role in creating a multi-cultural society," he added.

Hamas bans masks for Gaza gunmen
In their first order since seizing control of the Gaza Strip, Hamas Islamists banned gunmen from wearing masks - unless they are shooting at Israel. It's good that the palestinian serial killers will be wearing masks when they attempt to murder Jews; it will make it easier for the IDF to identify them, then blow them away. It will eliminate any Friend or Foe issues completely.
The masks have become commonplace in the Gaza Strip during weeks of factional fighting between the ruling Hamas movement and President Mahmoud Abbas's secular Fatah faction.
Both sides wore the masks to hide their identities.
“A decision was taken last night to prevent (people from wearing) masks,” Khaled Abu Hilal, a spokesman for the Hamas-controlled Interior Ministry, said.
Hamas made one exception, for militants carrying out cross-border attacks on Israel.
“Wearing masks should only be near the borders and in fighting the Zionist enemy, not in the streets and near people's homes,” Abu Hilal said.
Hamas Executes Fatah Men as Their Wives and Children Watch
A witness named Amjad said men were killed as their wives and children watched. "They are executing them one by one," Amjad said by telephone. "They are carrying one of them on their shoulders, putting him on a sand dune, turning him around and shooting." Fatah officials said Hamas shot and killed seven of its fighters outside the Preventive Security building. A doctor at Shifa Hospital said he examined two bodies that had been shot in the head at close range.

Palestinian Moms Becoming Martyrs
Since 2002, 88 Palestinian women have attempted suicide bombings, though just eight have been successful. Though there were just six suicide attacks against Israelis in 2006, two were carried out by women. "There's a growing involvement of Palestinian women in terrorism, everything from scouting targets and smuggling guns and explosives to becoming suicide bombers," says Anat Berko, an Israeli counterterrorism expert at the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism in Herzliya. Palestinian women suicide bombers are older and better schooled than their male counterparts. Whereas the men are usually in their late teens and early 20s with scant education, studies carried out on 67 women recruited to become suicide bombers from 2002 to 2005 found that 33% were college graduates and an additional 39% had finished high school. Some women suicide bombers believe that in paradise they will become queens, while others are told by recruiters that they will become the fairest of the 72 virgins that await each jihad warrior.

Al-Qaeda Tactics Expand in Gaza
Over the past few months, a slew of Internet cafes and video stores have been attacked and forced to close. Earlier this week, Islamists opened fire on an elementary school, killing one bodyguard and wounding seven, while the most senior UN official in Gaza was visiting the institution. The startling events point in a direction that, until recently, many Palestinians thought was far from their reality: the appearance of groups driven by a fundamentalist, anti-Western agenda aligned with that of al-Qaeda. In the past half year, more than 70 establishments seen as representing "infidel" culture have been attacked, including Internet cafes, video shops, an American school, and a Christian center that distributed Bibles.

Pakistani Scientist A.Q. Khan Aided Iran, His Nuclear-Secrets Network May Still Be Active
Evidence presented this week by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies suggests that Pakistan's nuclear proliferation network, run by scientist A.Q. Khan, is not truly dead.
Its report also reveals that Khan "provided Iran with centrifuges, technical designs, components, and an 'address book' of suppliers."
The report suggests that "at least some of Khan's associates appear to have escaped law-enforcement attention and could, after a period of lying low, resume their black-market business."
Their most likely client is Iran, which "remains the most active customer in the international nuclear black market."

Preserving Humanitarian Principles While Combating Terrorism: Israel's Struggle with Hizbullah in the Lebanon War
-- Israel's military operations in Lebanon took place in the context of a clear asymmetry with regard to the implementation of principles of international humanitarian law: Hizbullah, in clear violation of these principles, deliberately targeted Israeli civilians, while attempting to use the cover of civilians and civilian structures in order to stockpile its weapons, hide its fighters and fire missiles into Israel. Israel, on the other hand, held itself bound to apply the principles of humanitarian law, even while facing an opponent who deliberately flouted them.
-- In doing so, Israel took pains to ensure that its operations were directed against legitimate military targets and that in conducting its operations incidental damage to civilians was kept to a minimum, both by ruling out attacks which would cause disproportionate damage and by giving advance notice wherever possible. A survey of international practice suggests that the steps taken by Israel to address humanitarian considerations corresponded to, and often were more stringent than, those taken by many Western democracies confronting similar or lesser threats.
-- The suffering of civilians was a tragic reality on both sides of the conflict. Israel made strenuous efforts to reduce this toll, both by protecting Israeli civilians and by seeking to minimize civilian suffering on the Lebanese side. Following the conflict, Israel has also undertaken numerous investigations and analyses with a view to learning lessons from the conflict and to enabling improvements to be made in the future.
-- Israel's efforts in this regard should not, however, diminish the ultimate responsibility of those who callously and deliberately used the Lebanese civilian population as a shield, for the suffering that inevitably resulted from their actions.

Who is Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi?
Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi, a former major in Saddam Hussein’s army, was apprehended as he tried to enter Iraq from Iran and was transferred this week to the “high-value detainee programme” at Guantanamo Bay.
Abd al-Hadi was taken into CIA custody last year, it emerged from US intelligence sources yesterday, in a move which suggests that he was interrogated for months in a “ghost prison” before being transferred to the internment camp in Cuba.
Abd al-Hadi, 45, was regarded as one of al-Qaeda’s most experienced, most intelligent and most ruthless commanders. Senior counter-terrorism sources told The Times that he was the man who, in 2003, identified Britain as the key battleground for exporting al-Qaeda’s holy war to Europe.
I hope you die choking on your own blood, you unholy detestable bastard.

Al-Qaeda "Planning Big British Attack"
Al-Qaeda leaders in Iraq are planning the first "large-scale" terrorist attacks on Britain and other Western targets with the help of supporters in Iran, according to a leaked intelligence report. Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on "a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki" in an attempt to "shake the Roman throne," a reference to the West. There is no evidence of a formal relationship between al-Qaeda, a Sunni group, and the Shi'ite regime of President Ahmadinejad, but experts suggest that Iran's leaders may be turning a blind eye to the terrorist organization's activities.
Who is Khaled Mash'al?
--Characterizes suicide bombings targeting Israeli civilians as legitimate forms of "armed resistance."
Khaled Mash'al, the political bureau head of the terrorist group Hamas, has little patience for Palestinians who suggest reconciliation with Israelis. This is not at all surprising, because his group, Hamas, is dedicated to the permanent destruction of Israel by violent means. Indeed the Hamas Covenant, written in 1988, declares: "There is no other solution for the Palestinian problem other than jihad [holy war]. All the initiatives and international conferences are a waste of time and a futile game."
Consider Mash'al's reaction to a speech delivered at the Aqaba peace summit by former Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Abu Mazen, who, calling for an end to the armed Intifada, declared: "We will exert all of our efforts using all our resources to end the militarization of the Intifada, and we will succeed. The armed Intifada must end, and we must use and resort to peaceful means in our quest to end the occupation and the suffering of Palestinians and Israelis. And to establish the Palestinian state . . . our goal is clear, and we will implement it firmly and without compromise: a complete end to violence and terrorism."
In response to these words, Mash'al condemned what he called "the conspiracy being woven against the Palestinian people," a conspiracy he believed was being carried out with Mazen's passive acquiescence. Mash'al accused President Bush of conspiring with Israel to keep the Palestinians eternally subservient. And he denounced Mazen for speaking "[about] the [Palestinian] resistance as terror, and about putting an end to the armed resistance."
In short, Mash'al characterizes suicide bombings targeting Israeli civilians as legitimate forms of "armed resistance."
In July 2006, Mash'al said: "You [Israelis] will be defeated with God's help. Victory's day is approaching with God's help. (audience replies with "Death to Israel" and "Death to America") Before Israel dies, it will not escape humiliation and surrender. Before they die, with God's help theu will witness humiliaton and surrendering. And America will not be there to help; nor will their generals. The last general is forgotten. God made Sharon disappear and he wasw departed from them. … We forced a new equation in this battle. The new equation plays to our hands. We will defeat them [the Israelis]. We will defeat them emotionally and mentally before we defeat them in the field of battle. Gaza is the victory's bed. … Victory in these elections sends a message to Israel and America and all the abusers of this world. With us you will never succeed and you will always lose. If you want war, we are ready for war. … The days of defeat within six days with hours are over. Today you are fighting against the army of Allah. Today you are fighting against people who care for dying for Allah, dying for honor and prestige more than they care for life itself."

Palestinian murderer/bombmaker killed in Nablus
During an IDF arrest operation Saturday night in Nablus, Tanzim terrorist Amin Mahmoud Amin Lubadeh and Islamic Jihad terrorist Fahdel Muhammad Mahmoud Nur were killed in exchanges of fire with IDF forces during an attempt to arrest them. Lubadeh was the leading manufacturer of bombs and explosive belts in the Samaria region and was involved in numerous attacks. His activity was funded by Iran through Hizbullah and by terror operatives in Gaza. Fahdel Nur was involved in planning suicide bombings and recruiting bombers for attacks inside Israel.

The Middle East Arsonist
Ahmadinejad continues to play the role of Middle East arsonist. He has started fires in Lebanon using Hizbullah, in Gaza and the West Bank using Hamas, and in Iraq using Shiite militias. The international crisis he created in taking the 15 Brits hostage is yet another fire started, only to be put out by him after it achieved sufficient burn to further damage Western prestige. He will continue such arsonist policies until either the Middle East is consumed by fire or he is.See also Iran's Evil Game: Arming Iraqi Shiites and Sunnis
Palestinian Woman Suicide Bomber Arrested
Israeli forces arrested Najwa Hashash, 19, in Nablus on Monday following suspicions that she intended to carry out a suicide bombing. Local residents said Tuesday that Najwa was unhappy after she recently married a man with a serious illness and sought to end her life. Two out of five suicide bombings in 2006 were carried out by Palestinian women.

Pesach Massacre Averted: Hamas Mass Murder Car was in Tel Aviv
For as yet unknown reasons, a massive Hamas terror attack intended to take place in the Tel Aviv area during the Passover Seder was averted. A similar attack five years ago killed 30 people in Netanya and triggered the IDF's Operation Defensive Shield. The General Security Service (Shabak) has acknowledged that a Hamas terrorist successfully entered the Greater Tel Aviv area in a car laden with 100 kg. (220 lbs.) of explosives before Passover. Besides the explosives, it contained large amounts of shrapnel material, intended to maximize carnage. For reasons that are not yet known, the attack was not carried out and the terrorist drove the car back to Kalkilye, from where it had come. The car exploded in Kalkilyeh, in what the Shabak says was a 'work accident.'

Ahmadinejad Knows Little About the Outside World
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was elected mayor of Teheran in 2003, although the turnout was only 12%. As mayor, he ordered the police to arrest any couples seen holding hands in the streets. One retired diplomat who served in Iran describes Ahmadinejad as nothing more than an "over-promoted municipal politician." All candidates standing in Iran's presidential contest must be vetted by the Council of Guardians, a powerful committee of hardline clerics. The Council barred reformers from standing in the 2005 presidential contest, giving Ahmadinejad an easy run. Ahmadinejad knows little about the outside world and appears to glory in Iran's isolation and poverty. The rules of diplomacy, the history of Europe, even the Arab countries of the Middle East mean little to him.
