Memorial Day 2006

On this Memorial Day, folks, teach yourselves the following facts:

When some claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war, state the following:

FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

And maybe one day, when a woman in a burkha asks you as an American, as this happened in California, when is the US going to stop bombing her countrymen, say in a calm and gentle voice,
Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse Americans of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't need to be there today. But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid.
G-d Bless America and our armed forces and their families for their great sacrifice so that we could all be free.
