IDF Intelligence Chief Major General Amos Yadlin has revealed that the IDF has captured one of the Hizbullah terrorists who kidnapped two IDF soldiers.
"In one of the operations in Lebanon the kidnapper was captured. He has been taken for interrogation," Yadlin told government ministers.
Yadlin briefed ministers on Hizbullah's condition following the IDF attacks, and said that there has been a most significant strike against the organization.
"Nasrallah has turned into a figure that hides in a bunker. His evaluations of how Israel responds, how it prepares, how steady its home front command is, how long the clash will last – all of these parameters have been significantly struck. Hizbullah today is a lot less deterring," he said.Major General Yadlin added that "instead of being a protector of Lebanon he is the destroyer of Lebanon. That is clear in Lebanese society. That is what IDF intelligence is hearing in the Lebanese dialogues, in how Lebanese are talking with one another. Also as a regional leader, he has been weakened. He began with a demand to release thousands of Palestinian prisoners and now he's talking about Lebanese prisoners."
According to Yadlin, Hizbullah has been inwardly weakened. "It is perceived by Lebanese society more as a burden than an asset," Yadlin said. The major general added that "the Syrians and Iranians continue to support Hizbullah, and its short range rocket firing capabilities have not been stifled."
