-Two terrorist cells identified escaping missile-launching sites (in two separate incidents).
-Access routes in the Bekaa Valley to prevent weaponry smuggling from Syria to Lebanon.
-A number of missile launchers.
-Several missile launching sites.

The IDF will continue to use all means at its disposal in order to protect the citizens of Israel and return the abducted IDF soldiers, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, to their homes.

IDF ground activity in south Lebanon overnight
Overnight, IDF forces took control of several strategic positions in Al Teibeh, and have been operating in the areas of Al Adeisa and Rab A-Tiltin. During the past two weeks these areas have been used for launching of missiles at Israel, resulting in killing and injuring of Israeli citizens.

IDF ground forces have entered the area on the early hours of July 30th. The operation continues.

During the operation, Hezbollah gunmen opened fire by means of anti tank missiles and mortar shells at IDF forces. There were no injuries reported to IDF forces.

During the past two days, IDF forces have hit approximately 20 Hezbollah gunmen in this area and uncovered several storage facilities of anti-tank missiles.

The IDF will continue to use all means at its disposal in order to protect the citizens of Israel and to create the conditions for the return of the abducted IDF soldiers, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, to their homes.

IDF activity in the southern Gaza Strip

Early this morning, August 1st 2006, IDF forces began operating in the area of Dahaniya in the southern Gaza Strip as part of the general operation to destroy terror threats and dismantle suspected terror infrastructure, such as tunnels used for terror activity.

The IDF also fired artillery at rocket launching sites in the north and south of the Gaza Strip.

The IDF will continue to act with determination against terrorist organizations and terror infrastructure in order to create the conditions for the return of Cpl. Gilad Shalit and to stop terror attacks and the launching of missiles towards Israel.
