Hypocrits in their condemnation

Folks, at least Pat Robertson said he would pray for Sharon. Tzfat's Chief Rabbi says that, after seeing the destruction of Gush Katif, he is not praying for Sharon's welfare - but that Sharon has many merits.

Speaking on Arutz-7's "Preparing for Redemption" internet Hebrew radio program, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu of Tzfat said, "Whoever saw the destruction in Gush Katif and northern Shomron, can't pray for Sharon's recovery. On the other hand, I am not happy about his condition, and we must remember that he has many merits."

Rabbi Yosef Al-Nekaveh, who was expelled from his home in N'vei Dekalim five months ago in the framework of Sharon's disengagement plan, disagrees. He angered some of his former and current neighbors in publicly calling for prayers on behalf of Sharon. "Sharon fought for the Land, and did much for the State," Rabbi Al-Nekaveh told Israel Radio, "and despite our disagreement on the disengagement plan, we should pray for him."

Not pray for him? How embarrassing. These rabbis have brought faith into contempt. They are guilty of what Jewish tradition calls, with disgust, ''chillul ha-Shem" -- a desecration of God's name. What of Robertson's critics now?

Oh they're still around, they're just conspicuously silent on this subject. They won't shake a finger at the shamefulness of Rabbis and rabbis who blog who have stated that they would not pray for their countryman Sharon's health, yet they'll fall over themselves to condemn a Christian for simply stating a basic Biblical principle. Whether people agree or disagree with Pat Robertson's comments or like him at all is really not the point. The question at hand is, "Would God remove someone from power if they were not in step with Him?" The answer is YES he would. The Bible is full of examples where He clearly has. Saying that God would not do this or do that based on a modern subjective sensibility rather than on Biblical precedent, now that is presumptuousness squared, not to mention hypocritical.

Folks, HaShem is not the mealy mouthed wimp most secularists and bloggers want him to be. Pat Robertson is just a convenient target for them and the most likely reason is because he is Christian.
