Bush invites foreigners to monitor U.S. election

Folks, this is beyond the pale. This past fall, thirteen Democratic House members asked United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan to send election monitors to the U.S. The move outraged many Republicans and other proponents of national sovereignty. Weren't our forefathers premise for this once-great nation to be devoid of foregin entanglements? Well, the America that I know, has just died. These thirteen renegade Democrats got their surprising answer from the State Department – the administration will indeed invite foreign election monitors to observe the U.S. elections in November.

Here's some more background to this story, which I wrote about back on July 12, 2004.

Un-freaking-believable.
