Hamas: Goal of a Palestinian State is Destruction of Israel

The Hamas-led Palestinian Authority declared on Saturday, 23 December 2006 that the goal of a Palestinian state is the destruction of Israel. Reiterating his terrorist organization’s calls for a long term "hudna", or truce with Israel, Hamas legislator Salah Bardaweel said Hamas is not interested in two states as a final solution to the Israeli/Arab conflict. “We're talking about a phased solution,” he said, referring to Hamas plans to dissolve the Jewish homeland by first establishing a state on lands Israel captured in June 1967.

“We will never give up our right to the entire land of Palestine,” Bardaweel added.

An excerpt from Article Seven of the Hamas Covenant:

"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).
