Rally for captured Israeli soldier on Monday July 10 in NYC

"Cpl. Gilad Shalit's captivity is the result of a carefully planned attack," said Harold Tanner, Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

"Terrorists can plan and prepare attacks more easily - and more effectively - when they are living under regimes that protect them, like Syria, Iran, and the Palestinian Authority."

The Ad Hoc Leadership Coalition for Justice will demand the immediate and unconditional release of Cpl. Shalit on Monday, July 10, 2006, at 12:00 noon, across from the Syrian Mission to the UN, 820 2nd Ave. between 43rd and 44th Streets, New York City.

A companion rally will be held at the Syrian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
