The American Jewish Congress is happy to announce that the House of Representatives passed H.R.609, The College Access and Opportunity Act of 2005 on Thursday, March 30, 2006 in a 221-199 vote on the House floor.
The bill is set to amend and extend the Higher Education Act of 1965 and contains in language that will requires Title VI Mid East studies centers to provide balance and a diversity of views in these federally funded programs.
