Folks, no doubt you have already heard the news that American singer and activist Harry Belafonte called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world" on Sunday and said millions of Americans support the socialist revolution of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.
Don't count me as part of your obviously embellished "millions", Belafonte. I don't know where you got that inflated number from but you sure as hell don't speak for me or for any of the hundreds of people I do know.
Another irony and unfortunate event to take place is that today, Sunday January 15, 2005, Belafonte is speaking at Duke University as part of the school’s commemoration of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Belafonte will give the keynote address during a service and celebration commemorating King, one of many events at Duke Jan. 13-22 honoring King. The theme of Duke’s 17th annual celebration of King is " Call and Response: Listening, Learning and Living the Legacy."
May the spirit of goodwill and brotherhood in the legacy of Martin Luther King not be contaminated by the maliciousness of the anti-American and friend of dictators, Harry Belafonte.
