U.N. official condemned for comparing Israelis to nazis

This story makes an interesting read. Congratulations to U.N. Watch for ‘making it happen’ and for bringing a small match-glint of light into that black cavern of ‘in-human’ rights called the United Nations. Here's what happened:

Jean Ziegler is at it again. No surprise there. The notorious Israel-basher cum U.N. official as Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food two weeks ago used Nazi-terms – again - while telling a crowd of pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Geneva that the Gaza Strip is “an immense concentration camp” and compared Israelis to concentration camp guards. He then called on Europe to boycott Israeli goods.

The Surprise: In no time, Ziegler was denounced by the spokesman for United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, and then again by the spokesman for High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour. Never before in the history of the U.N. has one of its independent experts been condemned in this fashion.
