Video: Free The Soldiers

Freethesoldiers.org is an advocacy and awareness campaign on behalf of the Israeli soldiers who were captured last summer, Gilad Shalit, Ehud "Udi" Goldwasser and Eldad Regev. The campaign is a joint initiative of a broad coalition of Jewish organizations rallying together in an unprecedented display of solidarity and humanitarianism.

Freethesoldiers.org will also remind the world of the continuing plight of Ron Arad (captured in 1986), Zachary Baumel, Yehudah Katz and Tzvi Feldman (all captured in 1982).

The primary focus of this campaign is an online petition addressed to incoming U.N. Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, demanding that the U.N. take immediate action to secure the freedom of Udi, Eldad and Gilad We will gather one million signatures and deliver the petition to the Secretary-General and other high profile diplomats in February.

The emblem of the campaign is a set of dog tags bearing the names of each of the soldiers and the dates they were kidnapped. We hope people all over the country will wear them close to their hearts in an expression of support for the soldiers and their families, until they are returned safely home.

The website will be updated regularly with news, videos and advocacy opportunities until Gilad, Udi and Eldad are free.

Every person touched by this campaign will learn about the plight of the soldiers and become part of a worldwide community of activists. To make it work, everyone who receives an email about this campaign must send it on to everyone they know, who will want to join them in our quest to bring our boys home.
