Freedom of expression for ALL Jews

Knesset Member Aryeh Eldad (National Union) said Monday that he asked Attorney General Menachem Mazuz to allow freedom of expression for Jews wanting to pray on the Temple Mount just as he does for homosexuals wanting to parade in Jerusalem this Friday. The Attorney General stated Sunday night that cancelling the parade because of the threats of violence by protestors would be a surrender of democracy and the principle of freedom of expression. He rejected arguments that the planned parade might endanger public safety, although the same reasoning has been used in the past for prohibiting prayer by Jews on the Temple Mount.
