Muslim Admits Planning Dirty Bomb Attack in UK

Dhiren Barot, a British Muslim arrested in August 2004, on Thursday admitted plotting a series of terrorist attacks in the UK including one involving a radioactive "dirty bomb." He also pleaded guilty to planning attacks against the IMF, World Bank, and financial institutions in New York, Washington, and Newark. Edmund Lawson, QC, told Woolwich Crown Court, south London: "These plans to carry out explosions at those premises with no warning were basically designed to kill as many innocent people as possible."
